Miroku's Lesson:

Bankotsu's eyes bulged out. "What the fuck?" He scratched the back of his head. "Uh Jakotsu… I thought you were gay?" his brows knitted in confusion.

Inuyasha barked, "No shit! Me too!" He mumbled under his breath, "Especially after how you've been chasing after me."

Jakotsu smirked. "That was before she came along." He licked his lips savoring the taste of the kiss. He stared at Inuyasha and added with a flirty wink, "Besides, you're so easy to tease."

Bankotsu threw his head back and laughter rumbled from his chest. "Damn! He's got you there mutt."

Kagome blinked and slightly shook her head. "Uh…so which is it?"

Jakotsu shrugged. "Eh who knows?"

Tara punched his arm. "Be honest!"

Laughing Jakotsu rubbed his now sore arm. "Damn girl! You sure hit like a man," he said grumpily.

Tara leaned in and whispered. "Then take it like a man and tell them!" challenge flashed in her eyes.

Jakotsu raised his hands in surrender. "Okay okay." He turned to the others and grinned. "Tara and I have been… close for a while now."

Tara nodded. "Since shortly after we met actually," She grinned.

Jakotsu wrapped his arm around her waist. Seeing everyone's confounded looks, he shrugged. "What can I say? She grew on me."

Recognizing the look in his best friend's eyes, Bankotsu grinned. "I'll be damned. Jakotsu's in love with a woman."

Jakotsu glared. "Like you're not?" his eyes were clearly daring him to deny it.

Bankotsu laughed and pointed to his own chest. "I'm not the one who was gay."

Jakotsu pouted. "Yeah yeah, rub it in." He grinned with mischief shinning in his eyes. "Besides, no one says I can't like both."

Everyone sweat dropped and swayed on their feet before taking one step back.

Inuyasha and Bankotsu both actually fell over from the shock.

Tara growled and rounded on her mercenary. Her eyes narrowed. "If you plan on being with me, you'd better make up your mind!" flipping her hair over her shoulder, she stormed away.

Jakotsu blinked and shook his head. He started after her. "Come back Tara!"

Tara snorted and yelled over her shoulder, "I'm not about to share my man - especially not with other men!" She finished storming over to sit under the tree, with her arms crossed and glaring at Jakotsu.

Jakotsu shook his head and huffed. He mumbled under his breath, "This is why I had stayed away from women."

Kagome blinked a couple time. "Uh... what just happened?" she looked as bewildered as the others all felt.

Bankotsu picked his self up. He dusted off his clothes, frowning at his long time loyal companion. "I'm not sure myself."

Sango watched Jakotsu's spectacle. 'He's a weird one that's for sure.'

Miroku blinked and rubbed the back of his neck, not sure what to make of it all.

Inuyasha scowled at the mercenary who had been chasing after him. 'What the hell is he up to?' the hanyou shuddered in disgust as Jakotsu winked at him.

Catching this Tara scowled at Jakotsu and turned her back towards him. 'Screw this! I am not going to stand here watching him flirt, and sure as hell not with another man!' Standing up she joined Sango in preparing to leave camp.

Adapting his leader persona Bankotsu became strictly business. He addressed the group. "Alright listen up! We are going to find a village, get supplies, and then we are going to look for Naraku."

Everyone got dead silent as they stared at him. The air was tense with the knowledge that the time for action had come.

Seeing he now had everyone's undivided attention, Bankotsu continued. "I don't know about you all, but I am damn well tired of Naraku in generally."

Everyone nodded their agreement.

"Good. Then let's gear up and go hunt that bastard down. We will end him once and for all!" he declared confidently. "No more waiting. Now we hunt him down like the coward he is and take him out!" his fists clenched as he finished addressing his group.

Kagome spoke up, "Bankotsu's right. First we need supplies and then it's time we take the fight to Naraku."

Everyone voiced their agreements. All were tired of constantly missing with this demon.

Bankotsu nodded. "Pack up and let's head out," He ordered, shouldering his massive Banryu in its normal place.

Kagome shouldered her bag and her bow and arrows, before walking over to her husband-to-be and sliding her smooth hand into his larger one.

Bankotsu's warm hand encompassed hers as he smiled at her. 'She is stronger than any of the others know…and she is mine.' That knowledge filled him with pride. His sapphire eyes shone with affection as he gazed into her warm brown ones. He raised their joined hands and brushed his lips over her knuckles.

She smiled up at him and they stared at each other a moment.

Seeing this Inuyasha rolled his amber eyes. "We need to find Naraku, not watch you two make goo goo eyes at each other!"

Bankotsu smirked. "Jealous mutt?" His eyes were on Inuyasha.

"As if corpse!" Inuyasha shoved his arms into the sleeves of his haori, storming ahead to be near the front of the group.

Bankotsu chuckled. "Come on Kags. Let's go keep an eye on the mutt before he hurts himself." He led her away, with the rest of the group following.

Tara sighed. 'How am I going to get that flirt Jakotsu to commit?' She kicked a rock on the way down the hill. An idea formed in her head and she smirked. 'So Jako, you want to play, eh? Then let's play.' She grinned as a devious idea formed in her mind.

Sango followed them. Her mind replayed her conversation with Bankotsu last night. 'Let's hope it works.'

Kagome smiled as she felt his warm hand encase hers. 'Where should we live? Will it be in my time or his?'

Bankotsu smirked at her thoughts. 'I will not let him touch her! Kagome will stay safe! After we defeat Naraku, I am going to search for Ryori and not stop until I find him! Then Kags and I can finally settle down.'

He felt Kagome brush his mind.

'We will find your brother love, I promise.'

He smiled. 'We will and thanks for understanding.'

She grinned. 'Of course I understand. Family is important to us both.'

He smiled. 'Yes Angel, it is.' Feeling his light mood melt away, he sighed. 'Don't get scared, but I need to start planning how we are going to defeat Naraku. You might want to focus more on your thoughts instead of mine.'

She felt the concern in his words and squeezed his hand. 'We can strategize together.' She picked up on his hesitance again. 'There will be plenty of time to discuss our future once he's gone.'

'Are you sure?'

She grinned. 'I can take it love, so let's get down to business.'

His chest swelled with pride and he began running through his plan with her, listening to and considering her valuable input as they formulated a sold battle plan.

Inuyasha scowled at Bankotsu who had again taken the lead. 'Why does he get to be the leader?'

Miroku smiled. 'I wonder how many cute village girls I will get to grope.' His eyes warmed as he thought of how their flesh would feel gripped in his palm. His hand tingled in anticipation.

His chest puffed with pride. 'None as firm as my sweet Sango's though.' His hand sweated lightly remembering the feel of her firm cheek under it and he sighed happily. 'Now that's something to look forward to! Talk about firm yet soft and very feminine.' His palm itched with the temptation to just reach out and…'

Sango's eyes widened and then narrowed. She swung around and a loud crack echoed through the air. "Hentai!" she huffed and stormed closer to Inuyasha. 'Damned lech! How dare he think he can just grab me like that?'

Everyone sighed and shook their heads. 'He's at it again.'

Bankotsu snorted and went back to forming a battle plan.

Halfway through the day they finally came across a village.

Bankotsu held up a hand and faced the group. "Listen up. We simply get what we need and have a good night's rest, so we can get on our way. We pack our supplies and we're gone. No more wasting time."

Everyone nodded agreeing. All were growing tired with this dragging out and were ready for it to finish one way or another.

As soon as they entered the village, Miroku started with the village girls. He walked up to three really pretty ones and only the prettiest stayed to talk with him.

A villager walked over to Sango. "Miss I have to tell you, that you're one of the prettiest girls I've ever seen." He was young not more than twenty.

Taken aback by his boldness, Sango stammered, "Tha... Thank you," her heart was beating wildly in her chest as all that Bankotsu had said began to surface.

He smiled showing a perfect smile. "You're welcome." Looking at her he asked, "So what brings a vision of beauty such as you to a humble village like ours?"

Kicking in the flirtatiousness that she'd seen Miroku use a hundred times, Sango replied, "I've traveled far from the mountains for a breath of fresh air, such as you," She batted her eyes, moving toward the young man. "You wouldn't happen to know of a place that I can rest my weary head and tired feet, would you?" She drew her finger down his chest. "Maybe even one that has exquisite food?"

The man grinned. "It just so happens my dear, that my grandparents own the inn." pride showed in his eyes. Unable to stop himself, he reached out lightly brushing his fingers over her soft cheeks. He whispered, "Stunning."

A slight smile crossed her lips as she heard the comment. "Thank you," she replied in nearly identical whisper. She took his arm and he led them toward the inn.

Miroku's jaw clenched and he stared in the direction they had left. 'What the hell was that about?' Miroku followed on Sango's heels. "Sango, wait up."

Bankotsu smiled deviously, knowing that his plan had worked. 'Serves the stupid fool right,' he watched on.

Catching his thought, Kagome looked curiously toward Bankotsu. "Is there something I should know about?" She frowned. 'What are you up to?'

Bankotsu smirked. 'Sango is just teaching the monk a hard lesson.'

'I see,' She clearly noted the sparkle in his eyes. 'How is she doing so far?'

'See for yourself,' he angled his head to where Sango was busy flirting with the villager.

Kagome couldn't help but giggle at the fuming monk standing behind the oblivious demon slayer as she fawned over the villager, getting the best suites in the inn, food from the venders, and the attention of the very hot villager.

Bankotsu's chest puffed out. 'My idea is working perfectly.'

Kagome shook her head. 'Your idea?'

Bankotsu answered smugly, 'Yup.'

Kagome blinked and hesitantly asked, "How did this happen?"

Bankotsu shrugged. "She asked me how to straighten him out and I told her."

Rolling her eyes, Kagome replied, "I should have guessed," as she tapped his shoulder in a feign punch. 'Let's just hope that he learns his lesson.'

Bankotsu grinned. "If he doesn't then he deserves to lose her."

Kagome nodded. "True... but he still loves her." she crossed her fingers. 'I just hope that this works.'

Bankotsu leaned over to whisper in her ear, "Trust me." He nibbled on her earlobe.

Giggling at the sensations that it sent through her body, Kagome replied, "I do... trust you that is." Quickly she turned into his lips, catching them in a searing kiss.

After a few moments they broke, to watch the fireworks between Sango and Miroku.

Miroku reached out and pushed the guy away from his bride-to-be. "Sango, what are you doing?" his normally calm blue eyes were growing clouded.

With a sweet smile upon her lips, she turned on the monk. "Turnabout is fair play, my dear Hoshi. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm having a rather lovely conversation with this nice gentleman." She turned back toward the villager.

He smiled and led her back through the market, allowing her to pick the choicest of produce and meat for their dinner.

Miroku blinked and his brows furrowed. 'What the hell is that supposed to mean?' He continued to follow the woman of his dreams. After a few minutes, his breath hitched and his spine stiffened. His eyes widened and his shoulders drooped. 'Is she trying to give me a dose of my own medicine?'

A while later, having gathered her courage, Sango moved directly into the guy's face. "So what's a girl gotta do to get a cutie like you to give her a kiss?" She reached out and slid her hand out and stroked his butt.

Miroku smirked 'I must be rubbing off on her.' He watched her hand rub the guy's backside. His eyes narrowed. 'It's supposed to be my butt she's groping.'

The villager grinned and leaned down, capturing her lips. He even wrapped his arms around her waist.

Sango wrapped her arms around the guy's neck kissing him back. 'This will teach you Miroku.' She knew for a fact that he was watching, because she felt his gaze burning a hole in her back.

Miroku's nostrils flared. 'She's…she's actually kissing him?' His chest heaved with outrage. 'She's supposed to be kissing me, not another man!' Having seen enough the monk stormed over yanking the guy's shoulder and pulled back his fist.

His calm voice belied his aggravation. "I abhor physical violence, but I'll make an exception this time." Miroku grinned in satisfaction, watching the man's head snap back.

Kagome stopped and her eyes grew wide.

Bankotsu and Inuyasha, both agreed, "It's about time," nodding their approvals.

Tara smirked. 'Maybe now the lech will think twice now?'

Sango stood there blinking. 'Miroku… just hit him...'

Shaking out his sore fingers, Miroku grabbed Sango's arm, leading her away from the groaning villager. "We have to talk- now!"

Sango blinked. 'I wonder what he wants now?'

Storming to the edge of the village, practically dragging Sango behind him, Miroku's handle upon his temper nearly left as he thought of the way Sango was throwing herself at the villager. His eyes widened. 'Is this how she feels when I do that? 'He turned toward her and pushed her gently into a nearby tree, out of sight of the village.

"Miroku, what are you doing?" she glared at him.

His eyes roved over her face, staying on her red pouting lips. Unable to resist the urge any longer, he descended on her lips caressing them with his own.

Sango blinked. "What…?" she felt his lips upon hers as she inhaled a shocked breath.

Miroku shot his tongue into the warm cavern, caressing her tongue lovingly as his hands moved from her arms to her hips.

Sango blinked before closing her eyes. 'He's never kissed me before... not like this.'

Not wanting to follow the urges that coursed through his body, Miroku pulled back from Sango's lips. His eyes searched hers. "Can you ever forgive me?"

Still reeling from the kiss Sango lowered her head to her chest breathing in fresh air.

He moved his hand gently to cup her chin, easing her face toward his. "Can you forgive my lecherous ways, my beauty?"

Sango sniffed. "How do I know you won't just do it again?" She had trusted him so many times only to have him repeatedly revert to his old habits.

"Sango... I give you my heart, as long as it beats within my chest," he murmured once more, reaching to silence her protests with another searing kiss

Taken back by the kiss Sango sighed as she kissed him back.

Feeling her return the kiss, Miroku smiled. 'I'll never stray again... but that doesn't mean that you're off limits!'

Sango stiffened as she felt a hand grasp her backside. Rearing back she slapped him. "Damn it monk!" Storming off in a huff, she snapped, "I should have known he was being his grab happy self!" Tears pricked her eyes as she sighed, "He'll never change."

Moving a hand to his face where she'd slapped him Miroku hollered to her. "At least it was you're curvaceous backside that I was fondling and not some random villager."

She stopped dead in her tracks."How long Miroku? How long will it take before you go back to groping every girl who walks by?" Her jaw clenched and she balled her fist at her side.

Moving toward his beloved demon slayer, he answered, "I swear it upon the hole in my hand that I'll be true to you and you alone." He watched her eyes widen. "Your backside will be the only one I caress, though it may wander toward your equally taught chest on occasion, my beloved."

Sango blushed beet red and mumbled, "Last chance monk." Glaring at him she snapped, "And you'd better stay away from my chest till after we are married."

A smirk crossed his lips as he moved to wrapper her in his arms. "I swear that I'll be for you and only you, my Sango," he descended to her lips, kissing her yet again.

Sango melted against him and kissed him back. Pulling back she warned icily, "You'd better be."

Bankotsu smirked. "Alright lovebirds break it up and let's get some grub."

Kagome shook her head and smiled. 'Tactical as ever love.'

Bankotsu scowled. 'Hey I was nice and let them kiss.'

Kagome nodded. "That you were," she led him toward the inn.

Inuyasha blinked. 'What the hell?' His head titled to the side as he stared at them. 'Something is fishy here.' He straightened his shoulders and started towards the teenaged leader, determined to get answers.

Bankotsu and Kagome turned around. "Something wrong?"

Inuyasha huffed. "What did you two say before that?" He stared at Bankotsu's eyes. 'I know they said something, but never heard it.'

They blinked. "Eh, what do you mean?"

Inuyasha growled. "After the lovebird's part," Annoyed they were hiding something from him.

Kagome blinked. "Inuyasha we didn't talk," She mumbled, "Out loud anyways," and looked away.

Inuyasha's ears perked up. "What do you mean 'out loud anyways?' How else do people talk?"

Bankotsu chuckled. 'I guess this cat is out of the bag, eh love?" he stared into her eyes.

Kagome nodded. 'Should we…?' She chewed her bottom lip, uncertain if now was the time to reveal this secret or not.

Bankotsu shrugged and nodded. 'Better to do it here and now, than in the middle of battle where it would distract them.'

Kagome smiled. "You tell them," she encouraged.

Bankotsu smirked and faced the group. "Let's just say that Kags and I learned a few… tricks while training and can now talk to each other without actually talking."

Kagome slapped his shoulder playfully and clarified, "He means that we can speak to each other through our minds."

Sango gasped. "Are you sure Kagome?"

"Yup," Kagome beamed, knowing that all were surprised by this.

Miroku rubbed his chin. "Naraku certainly won't be expecting this."

Bankotsu grinned. "Exactly," turning around, he led the way back to the inn with Kagome by his side.

After taking several minutes to get over their shock, Jakotsu, Tara, Inuyasha, Miroku, Sango, Kirara, and Shippo all followed the mercenary leader and his miko.

Bankotsu walked over to the inn keeper. "I'd like two rooms for the night, along with food for eight people," he tossed some of his money bag onto the counter.

The inn keeper nodded and quickly showed the group to their rooms.

After everyone had settled in, the keeper brought the food.

As soon as dinner finished, everyone slept soundly - even Inuyasha because they knew that come morning they'd be heading out to find and battle Naraku.

Rin looked at the stoic Tai Youkai beside her. "Milord, why did we separate from the others?"

Sesshomaru answered coolly, "I have business elsewhere."

Kohaku cleared his throat and bowed. "Thank you for allowing me to join you."

Not looking at him, Sesshomaru replied. "You're job is to protect Rin-period."

Kohaku nodded and assured, "I will," fierce determination in his eyes. 'And I will see you again- sister.'

One of Kikyo's soul collectors landed on her arm. "Find Naraku and Sesshomaru, then report back to me."

She ordered her soul collectors before sending them off. They flew off into different directions to scour for the two they were sent to find.

'The final battle will come soon. I feel it deep within my soul,' she stared off into the distance.
