11: The Return of Hope

I walked slightly behind Sesshoumaru, we were dressed, our robes had been waiting for us in the God Tree. I looked at the youkai in the fields and I blushed as they chuckled and whispered among themselves. I felt strange having them all know I was now mated and pregnant. I looked up at Sesshoumaru to see his golden eyes studying me and I felt my fear leave me as I suddenly bolted, letting out a playful bark to my mate before I rushed to where my children were waiting for me.

"Meiken!" Shippo cried as he raced at me on all fours. I yipped at him and bounced around him as Rin and Souta approached me.

"Meiken!" they cried and I smiled as I embraced the children I cared for. I would have to worry about my own pups soon and suddenly I clutched the three children to me tighter.

"Yes, I'm back. I am with child now, so you must be careful," I stated and I looked at the children before the rancid scent of Kikyo reached my nose and I let out a low growl as the children rushed off to return to their games. Slowly Sesshoumaru's own growl joined mine as we watched her emerge. We stopped in unison as she approached us.

"Meinu! Wonderful, you returned later than I imagined, but you are with pup and that's what matters," she said as she looked me over in my robes and nodded. "How long will the pregnancy take?"

"Three months, my Lady," I said dully, my face was a mask now, I would use my mate's manner to make myself appear docile.

"Wonderful, just in time for the summer festival," she said with a sickening smile. I bit back and snarl and bowed my head like a submissive bitch. Sesshoumaru's hand gently stroked my tail base and I shivered before flicking my tail in pleasure. I watched her feet leave before I let loose my growl.

"My pups will never be hers," I snarled and I felt my mate's tail wrap around my waist pulling me to him and I looked into his gold eyes. "I know how my mother escaped. I will do the same." His eyes widened and then he smiled, it would only be for me, that smile.

"We will talk later," he said and I nodded. "Let us hunt." I followed my mate into the woods to continue the task of all canine slaves of the Higurashi manor.

I watched as the doors of the canine barn shut behind me and I placed an ear to it before looking at Sesshoumaru and then at all the wolves.

"Before you all open your big mouths and comment on my current status I warn you, I don't plan on birthing my pups under Kikyo's control, so if you want to raise your pups in the comfort of our own lands, I swear you better keep your mouths shut!" I snarled and I watched as everyone got quiet. I looked to see a smirk on Sesshoumaru's face and I stood up straight.

"Go ahead Meiken…" Momma said and I understood, she had never seen a pup beyond weaning. Once they could crawl and eat meat, they were sold. I nodded to her before pulling open the stall where Inu Yasha stood next to his brother.

"First off, we know that the collars only work on our intentions and the Higurashi orders. Secondly, we know the keys to these damn things are in the temple where only humans can enter," I said as I began to sniff at Inu Yasha.

"We know that already," someone called and there was a thud as someone else hit that person. I smirked.

"I can transform to my other form….and I can control the size of that form. I can make myself small enough to remove the collar. With that done, Kikyo will send you out to hunt me as she had you hunt my mother. While that is occurring we should be in time for Inu Yasha's human transformation. While you are out with Kikyo, I will be breaking him free from the barn where Kikyo will no doubt be hiding him in his time of weakness. While in human form he will be able to enter the temple and retrieve the keys to the collars. Once free of his collar, I will take him from the temple and have him hidden in the cave beneath the waterfall. You will each have to come to him to get your collars removed. But there is one thing you may not do!" I growled the next part my eyes glowing blue as I looked at my mate as his brother. "Young Lord Souta, Young Lady Rin, and any human not of Higurashi blood will not be touched!" There was great growling and snarling. "Lady Kagome has always treated us kindly. We will not repay her years of kindness with the decimation of her family! We will leave this place in tack save for the slave quarters and the temple. Other than that, no human blood besides Higurashi will stain the ground! Is that understood?! I want a blood oath!" There was a rumble of anger and slowly the smell of blood filled the air and I did a mental checklist matching the scents and I looked back at Sesshoumaru and Inu Yasha as they glared at me.

"Fine," Inu Yasha sighed as he slit his palm and I smiled as I slit my own palm. Sesshoumaru looked at me as his hand bled and I smiled.

"I will not be facing Kikyo, but my advice is to rid her of her arrows. Give her too many targets to attack and allow Sesshoumaru and Inu Yasha to make the kill since they have an oath on her life," I suggested as I walked back to my stall and let the door shut behind me as I took Sesshoumaru's hand and began to lick the blood away.

A low growl emitted his throat and I smiled at his pleasure as I looked up to have my lips captured by his as his tongue sought the taste of his own blood in my mouth.

"Would it be asking too much not to have to see this?" Inu Yasha asked and I giggled as I curled up against Sesshoumaru.

"You could close your eyes and cover your ears," Sesshoumaru chuckled as I yawned and nuzzled my head under his chin.

"Not now, we can have fun tomorrow, the new moon isn't for another three days," I whispered as I felt his hand stroke my hair.

I moved through the underbrush and sniffed the air, I looked into a nearby bush were I could see Sesshoumaru silently stalking the large boar. I watched his eyes meet mine and I silently took to the trees, landing on the opposite side of the clearing without a sound. I looked out and catch Sesshoumaru's eyes again and we agree silently. He looks somewhere else and soon Inu Yasha charges catching the boar's attention as Sesshoumaru and I flash by, my blow breaking the neck and his taking the head clean off. I smiled as Inu Yasha took the carcass and Sesshoumaru caught my eye. I could see the hunger in his golden eyes and I smiled.

"Catch me if you can?" I whispered and I began to run through the foliage, letting him get close before dodging and then repeating that over and over. Sesshoumaru tackled me and I giggled as his nose nuzzled through my hair to expose my neck to him. He began to nibble and lick, pulling my kimono up over my hips and I moved my tail to the side as he opened his kimono and I purred as he brush his length against my heat. I yelped a plea and he growling approvingly as he thrust into me, so slowly that my whole body began to scream for completion. He pulled back slowly, exiting me. He moved forward brushing my bud with his tip and I whimpered in pleasure as he began to take one slow stroke inside me and one against my bud. Soon I was whimpering before finally coming, he quickly pulled back and came on the grass and I looked to see his swollen knot and I figured he didn't want to be caught stuck by his brother and I chuckled as I kissed him and began to lead the way to the next animal in my territory. Sesshoumaru'shand gently brushing over my womb before we separated to hunt.
