Kagome turned around startled to face the speaker. Seeing as she was on the ground she could see only the knees of the new comer. Kagome slowly traveled up the body to the face. What she saw made her gasp. She had expected Sesshomaru from the cold voice behind her. The person she saw was defiantly not Sesshomaru.

The new come had knee length hair the color of midnight on a moonless night. His eyes shone an unnatural blue color like sapphires. His features seem unfinished and that gave him roguish good looks.

"Who are you?" she asked suspiciously.

"I'm Shurakai, but you can call me Suki," he said with a warm smile.

"Well I'm Kagome," she offered with an equally warm smile.

"Sorry about the cold voice but I thought I would give you a scare."

Kagome's smile disappeared and she gave Suki a distrustful look. Seeing this look Suki sat beside the girl on the ground. Once seated he pulled his arms and legs into his dark blue robes. Sitting this close to him Kagome could see faint traces of silver on the robes. She turns her head to get a better look at the swirls that adorn the stranger's robes. When she felt his blue eyes turn to her she looked up and gasped. On his face were faint silver swirls as well. Unknowingly Kagome leaned in closer to get a better look.

"Wow what are the swirls mean?" asked Kagome in awe.

"These are my full demon markings. I'm sure you've seen other demons markings. Only my markings also show what class you are in inside of my clan," explained Suki good-naturedly.

"What do you mean by class?" Kagome was very curious now about this unknown demon.

Leaning back he began to explain to this woman about his clan and different types of class.

"Well my clan is divided into 5 classes. There are workers, council, nobles, assassins, and the king or queen. What class you are in depends on what the Caste Master says. He is the one who decides where each person goes."

"Which class are you in?" asked Kagome thoughtfully.

"I am an assassin."

Kagome stiffened at this and looked over at the man beside her.

"Are you going to kill me?" she asked not fearfully but almost in a way that gave Suki the idea she was hopeful that he would kill her.

"No, do you wish to die?"

"I do not fear death if that is what you are asking," she replied coolly.

"Why are you sad? Who has wronged you so that you wish to seek death? Mortals who do not fear death must fear something else. Something just as powerful. The ultimate trust. What is it you fear Kagome? If not death then what? Love? Life? Or just being alone? What is it you fear?" Suki asked these questions with such a passion that Kagome felt obligated to give an answer.

"Yes, I fear being alone. I fear loving someone or something I can not have but what do I do now?" Kagome asked with more tears in her eyes.

Suki thought for a moment and surprised both of them with his answer.

"Come away with me. Not as a love but just to open your eyes to others fear."
