Chapter 12
<i>Kagome was standing in the middle of a meadow. She looked around, wondering where she was and how she got there. The tall green grass reached her midsection and she could hear grasshoppers chirping all around her. Kagome began walking forward, when she stopped at the sound of her name. It was the same voice from when she had had the dream about the Shiroi Miko. Curiosly, she turned around. Kagome was surprised.
A beautiful woman, in a silk white kimono that had silver leaves decorating it, stood before her. She had long silvery white hair, that was even longer than Sesshomaru's. Beneath each crystal blue eye there were two green stripes. On her forhead was a blue cresent moon. "Are you?" Kagome began, her sentance trailing away. The woman nodded and smiled as she began to speak.
"Yes, I am Sesshomaru's mother, Yume. I am sure you are wondering why you are here, correct?" Kagome nodded and Yume continued. "Like you, I was a Shiroi Miko. I want to help you with your powers so ou can defeat Naraku. He must be stopped. Since you have just transformed, your powers are continuing to develope as we speak."
"So then what do I do, Yume?" Kagome asked.
"I want you to concentrate. Pretend that you have wings. Use your powers to form them." Yume informed. Kagome nodded and closed her eyes, in deep concentration. She imagined that she had wings on her back. When she opened her eyes, out of the corner of her eyes, she was two huge feathery wings. "You are very good at this, Kagome." Yume commplimented and continued. "Now, just like lifting your arms, you have to lift your wings to fly. Can you do it?"
Kagome thought a minute. She began trying to flap the wings, like she would move her arms. Before she knew it, she was levitating off the ground, her wings flapping gracfully. "Very good! Now for yoiur abilities. Before your transformatoin, you had to use a bow and arrows to use your stongest powers. Now, however, you can create a bow and arrow with you energy. Just imagine that you are holding a bow in your hands, with an arrow noched, ready to shoot."
Kagome nodded and did so. She imagined the feel of the bow in her hands. Very soon after, a glowing white bow formed into her hands. Next she pulled the string back, like an arrow was in it, and aimed into the sky. She released the string, and a wave of lightshot strait into the sky. "I did it!" Kagome squealed.
"Yes." Yume smiled brightly. "But now, since you are a Shiroi Miko, your life span had been lengthened to that of a youkai, and you even take the appearence of one. You powers have at least doubled as I have said before. I think after a little practice with flying, you should be ready to face Naraku."
"How do I make the wings go away?" Kagome asked.
"Yes. I forgot about that. You just imagine that you have no wings. They'll go away. I must be leaving now."
"Thank you Yume!" Kagome ran forward and hugged Yume. She patted her back.
"I must be leaving now." Yume said and vanished. </i>
Kagome was out in the flower garden, practicing how to make her wings form and go away. After several successful tries, she decided to practice flying. She flapped her wings and lifted about three feet off the ground. She was unsteady at first, but soon got the hang of it. She flapped her wings and lifted even higher into the sky. She flew all around the castle, loving the feeling of the wind in her hair. After awhile, she headed back to the garden and landed. When she turned around to head back inside, she saw Sesshomaru walking towards her. She smiled and ran up to hug him.
"I flew on my own! It was so amazing! I flew all around the castle and didn't even fall once!" She said excitedly.
"That's very good. You've already figured out how to use your wings." He commented and hugged her back.
"I had some help." Kagome said.
"And who helped you?" Sesshomaru asked curiosly.
"A friend." Kagome pulled away and she let her wings disappear. "Named Yume." She finished.
"You've met....my mother?" Sesshomaru asked incredously.
"She talked to me in my dream. I was told that I had to practice flying so I can defeat Naraku. She said that he has to be stopped." Kagome explained. Before anyone else could say a word, two small chilren rushed into the garden. One went to Sesshomaru and the other went to Kagome. Kagome patted the kitsune's head affectionately and Sesshomaru did the same to Rin.
"Kagome, who's that?" Both kids asked, pointing at eachother.
"Shippo, this is Rin. Rin, this is Shippo." Kagome intoduced the two children. Immediately Rin asked if Shippo wanted to play hide and seek and soon the two were off playing. Kagome rested her head against Sesshomaru's chest and he wrapped his arm around her waist.
"I'm happy." Sesshomaru sighed.
"Why?" Kagome asked.
"Because." He said. "You're mine." Kagome smiled and hugged him tight.
"Know what? I think I'll take a bath." Kagome said as she released her hold on Sesshomaru.
"Need some help?" Sesshomaru asked playfully.
"Maybe." Kagome replied and walked away. Sesshomaru smiled and walked with her.
