Chapter 27

 

Sesshomaru growled angrily, red bleeding into his eyes.

“Now, now Lord Sesshomaru, you wouldn't want anything to happen to your mate,” Naraku paused. “Or your ward.” Kagura appeared with an unconscious Rin in her arms. Kagura looked at Sesshomaru apologetically.

Kagome gasped and Inu-Yasha cursed angrily.

By this time Lord Kannin and Lord Kouryou of China ran up next to Sesshomaru. Each looked at Naraku with disgust.

“Release Lady Ether at once!” Kouryou ordered.

Naraku shook his head. “Now why would I let a delicious dragoness go?” He cackled again as a purple mist started surrounding him and Kagura. Right before he vanished, he ran his tongue across Ether's cheek.

Sesshomaru rushed at Naraku, clawing at the air, but it was too late. They were gone. He fell to his knees and slammed his hands into the ground, his hair falling around him.

“My Lord, I am sorry. I was unable to protect” Sakura started to say, only to have Sesshomaru's hand wrap around her neck in a flash of speed.

“You weren't trying to protect her! You tried to kill her months ago! You let Naraku take my mate,” Sesshomaru tossed Sakura to the side.

Sakura coughed and looked to the other demons for support. Most were looking at her with confusion or hate. Their expressions spoke very clearly - `she tried to kill a dragon?'

Sakura growled and ran into the night. She had to get to Naraku and have him kill that retch. The sooner Ether was dead, the sooner she could start her plan to capture Sesshomaru.

Inu-Yasha had run inside to retrieve his fang sword. He returned only seconds later. “We'll go after him. We'll kill him.”

Kagome, rage burning in her eyes and her miko powers flowing around her nodded. “We'll get my sister back.”

Sesshomaru nodded, his cold mask in place. Except this time, it was more then just as mask, it was pure hatred. “As well as Rin. We'll rescue them.” A rustling noise caught his attention and he ran into his garden.

His eyes went wide and then even more rage filled them. Mimi was laying on the ground, her wings stabbed and her beautiful white plumage marred by blood.

“I am sorry my Lord, I sensed something was wrong and came to investigate. He grabbed he and stabbed my wings,” She said as he lifted her up. Her wings were healing, she had frozen the wounds quickly. “I was able to catch his aura. I will start tracing him as soon as I am able.”

Sesshomaru nodded. “We will save Rin and Ether,” Mimi said as she folded her wings against her back. Sesshomaru nodded once more.

 

Ether groaned softly, her hand going to her stomach as she slowly woke up. She was on a soft bed, chains around her feet. She looked at her feet questioningly and sat up slowly, her hand still clutching her stomach. She didn't sense anything different, she felt the heart beats of her pups and sighed. She still had her pups.

She looked around slowly. Memories of what happened slowly came back to her.

 

*Flash back*

 

“kukuku, Good work Sakura. What a beautiful dragoness you have caught.” Ether spun around and frowned. There in front of her was another demon, one she had never seen before.

“Who are you?” She asked softly, fearfully. Her instinct to run and protect herself was getting stronger. She took a step away from the demon.

“Your future mate of course.” Naraku sent out one of his tentacles and wrapped it around Ether in a flash.

Ether screamed and struggled. Before she could truly fight back, a strange purple smoke surrounded her. She tried to hold her breath, but was unable to. She sucked in the smoke and gagged. Her body went limp and darkness clouded her vision.

 

*End flash back*

 

Ether shivered in fear as she looked around. She was in a beautifully furnished room, light from the window indicating it was early morning. Ether reached down and tried to take off the chains, only to get a shock when she touched them.

“Ow!” she cried out

“I see you're finally awake, my delicious dragoness,” Ether froze and looked towards the door. Standing there was the demon that had kidnapped her.

“What do you want with me?” She asked angrily, her arms wrapped around her stomach protectively.

Naraku shook his head. “I told you my sweet, I want to take you as my mate.” Naraku licked his lips. The dragoness was laying on his bed, with just an inner kimono to shield her from his eyes.

Ether shivered. Her wings started to wrap around her only for her to discover they too were chained.

“Please excuse the use of chains. I wanted to make sure you would not try to run away.” Naraku said as he started walking towards Ether.

Ether froze, her eyes going wide as Naraku came closer and closer. “Who are you?” She asked as she tried to shrink away from the man that had kidnapped her.

Naraku paused and smiled evilly. “I apologize, I forgot to introduce myself.” He leaned forward, his face inches from Ether's. “I am Naraku.”

He leaned forward quickly, his hands pinning Ether's hands to the bed. He smashed his mouth against hers causing her to cry out.

Naraku pressed against her, causing the chains to dig into her ankles. He grinned as she struggled in pain. He panted as her whimpers of pain reached his ears.

“You are just so enticing,” He whispered as he placed one knee on the edge of the bed. Ether tried to scoot back, only to find herself pressed against the wall. “Please, just leave me alone!” She cried out, tears streaking her cheeks.

Naraku inhaled her scent, his nose inches from her mating mark to Sesshomaru. “I'll have to kill your pups before I mate you, to break your mating bond,” He whispered evilly.

Ether froze and shivered in fear and anger. “Don't you touch my babies!” She hissed as she struggled to have her hands released.

“Oh I won't yet, not until Sesshomaru is close enough to hear your screams.” He whispered into her ear.

Ether paled and tried to kick at him, only to cry out as the chains shocked her again.

“Your struggling only entices me more,” He said as he lifted her hand and pressed it against his crotch.

Ether felt tears stream down her cheeks as she struggled more, ignoring the pain the chains were causing.

Naraku used his free hand to tear open her inner kimono. Her pale skin glistened and he liked his lips. She was even more beautiful then he had imagined. He couldn't wait to kill her unborn pups and make her his. Of course, just because she was pregnant didn't mean he couldn't enjoy her right now.

He pressed her against the bed, her cries of pain and pleading filling the room. Naraku lowered his lips to her ear again. “Cry out for me, scream my name.” He commanded as he dug his claws into her legs to spread them apart.

Ether screamed in pain and started to hit him with her fists. Naraku chuckled and summoned two tentacles to wrap around her wrists.

He coated his fingers in her blood before the wounds closed and lifted the fingers to his lips. With her eyes on him, he flicked his tongue out to taste the salty finesse of Ether's blood. Naraku's eyes rolled as the taste of her enveloped his senses. She was divine!

“Sesshomaru should have taken better care of you,” Naraku purred as he cut her leg again. He lowered his head and lapped at the cut until it was closed.

Ether was crying hard, crying out each and ever time he cut her. She tossed her head back and forth, pleading with him to stop and let her go.

“Cry out my name,” Naraku commanded as he sliced deeper into her leg. Ether bit her lip, tears burning trails down her cheeks.

“Scream my name!” Naraku ordered louder. He sucked on her wound, biting it as he did so.
“Naraku!” Ether screamed as the pain increased. Her mind blacked out blissfully, the pain receding as she lost consciousness.

Naraku chuckled and rubbed his swollen groin. He could take her, take her over and over again until he was sated, but he wanted the dragoness to be awake for that. To scream his name over and over. To struggle and fight him as he took her as his.

Naraku loosened the ties and slipped his hand into his hakama. As he watched the unconscious dragoness, he rubbed his hardened length faster and harder. Just watching her breath was enough to make him continue. Her leg had healed, but the scent of her blood was heavy in the air. The mix of her natural scent and her blood overwhelmed him and he came into his hand.

Naraku chuckled darkly, ideas and plan on just how he was going to enjoy his future mate running through his mind.

Naraku's soft, evil cackle filled the room.

 

“Richard!” Sarah cried out as she placed a hand on the edge of their bed. It had been a few days since they had left. Sarah winced as she felt something was wrong deep in her heart.

Richard rushed to her side and helped her sit down on the bed. “What's wrong mate?” he demanded softly, his eyes intense.

“I…I don't know! I get this horrible feeling that…”Sarah's eyes went wide and she pushed Richard away from her. “Richard, you need to get back to feudal times! NOW!” She screamed as her eyes glowed for a moment.

Richard jumped up and shook his head. He knew that look. That was the look she got when the goddess was granting her a vision.

“What did you see love?” He asked softly.

Sarah started crying and rocking back and forth. “Horrible things Richard! Ether and Rin are in danger, Sesshomaru might get killed, oh Richard!” Sarah started crying harder. “You need to get back there now!” Sarah used some of her energy to push Richard towards the window.

Richard pushed back against her power, only to feel a stronger wave push him towards the window. Sarah was being dead serious about him needing to get back to feudal times.

Richard nodded and jumped out of the window, his wings spreading wide as he used his power to push him farther. With his hidden swords on his back, the vision of his mates frightened eyes fresh in his mind, he pushed himself to the limits of his power.

With all the extra power behind his wings, he made it to the well in minutes. Before anyone had a chance to see him, he dived into the well. With a flash of blue, he was on the other side and flying as fast as he could towards the western lands.

 

Sesshomaru cursed as Mimi lifted into the air, only to land once again. Her wings were not fully recovered. Inu-Yasha had volunteered on carrying “the useless bird” as he called her, but Mimi had turned down his offer saying she would heal in only a few hours.

It was morning before she could finally lift into the air and glide out of the castle.

“Is that Mimi coming back?” Kagome asked as a dot on the horizon caught her attention. The idea that Mimi was coming back was snuffed out with the realization the dot was getting larger and larger the closer it got.

“Feh it's the idiot dragon!” Inu-Yasha said where he was sitting by the window.

“Why do you think he is returning so quickly?” Sango asked as she checked the straps of her bone boomerang once again. During the hours they were waiting for Mimi to heal, Ah Un was sent out to retrieve Sango and Miroku. Shippo sat in Kagome's lap, his eyes sad as he worried about his friend Rin.

The group didn't have long to wait until Richard landed in the garden where they were staying.

Richard's eyes were fierce as he looked around. Seeing how everyone was tense, and that Rin and Ether where missing, he knew something was wrong. “What has happened?” He asked slowly, his voice deep and his fangs glistening.

Sesshomaru stayed still as he watched the sky for any sign of Mimi. It was left to Kagome to explain what had occurred just the night before. As the story went on, Richard's eyes grew darker and darker. The vision that had scared his mate so much must have been pointing to this.

Richard was silent as he went to stand next to Sesshomaru. They had no choice but to wait now. No choice but to hope they made it in time to save Ether.

“Do you feel her through the bond?” Richard asked Sesshomaru softly.

Sesshomaru nodded. “There was a moment of intense pain before I felt her loose consciousness.”

“Then we know she still carries your pups.” Richard said as he continued to stair at the far horizon.

“Why do you say that?” Sesshomaru said after a few minutes.

Richard glanced at the dog demon lord. “Because if I know villains, they would kill the pups, rape the female, and force mate them in order to cause the most pain to everyone.”

Richard paused. “You still feel the bond, try reaching through it to sense the pups.”

Sesshomaru did so and sighed in relief as he felt the presence of his pups. “You are right.” He muttered.

 

It was around midday that something white was seen on the horizon. “It's not Mimi,” Sesshomaru stated softly. Everyone became tense as the figure became more visible.

“Lord Sesshomaru, I am here to offer you my services.” Kagura said, her red eyes a mixture of emotions.

Sesshomaru looked up into the sky at the feather of the wind witch. He summoned his cloud and rose into the sky.

“Give me one reason why I shouldn't kill you now?”

Kagura sighed. “I want Naraku dead, as I have said time and time again. I want my heart so I can live as free as the wind.” She looked around, a little forlornly. “Naraku has captured your phoenix. I am the only one that can lead you to him now.”

“Land and we will see what the others think,” Sesshomaru said through clenched teeth. He landed swiftly, followed by the wind witch.

Lord Kannin stood in the doorway, having only observed what the strange group was doing. It was when the red dragon landed that Lord Kouryou made his reappearance. He had been in charge of interrogating Sakura. Having finally finished, he had arrived to tell the others the disturbing picture she had painted.

Kagura landed swiftly after Sesshomaru, kneeling as she did so. Her feather shrunk and she stuck it in her hair.

“The wind witch claims she can lead us to Naraku.” Sesshomaru stated blandly.

Kagome looked at Kagura, her eyes softening as she remembered Kagura's promise to help kill Naraku in the final battle.

“Kagura…you made a promise some time ago…Do you remember?” Kagome asked as she got up to stand in front of the wind witch.

Kagura nodded. “I swore that I would help you in the final battle against Naraku. Naraku has made the first move by kidnapping Lady Ether. The final battle is imminent.” Kagome nodded and looked to Sesshomaru.

Kagome looked at Kagura for some time, her eyes focusing on hers.“We can trust her.” Kagome said simply. Kagome turned and walked back to her mate, reaching out to hold his hand.

Sesshomaru looked at the sister of his mate for a long time and then down at Kagura. His eyes rose to meet those of Kannin and Kouryou. Kannin nodded slightly. “Prepare yourselves. We leave for battle.”
