InuYasha Fan Fiction ❯ A Snake's Curse ❯ Chapter 2
[ T - Teen: Not suitable for readers under 13 ]
Also; I was going to start reading the Harry Potter books we have in my home, but I wasn't allowed ^^; So until I can get to the library Ill just do some research XD Hm, my math is terrible. So, Kagome is only 13?or so, meaning she went into the past when she was 11 instead of 15. That's the only 'major' thing i will change.
argh, I can't find what age Harry and the others started school, so I'll say...they are all around 14 XD

Disclaimer: I own nothing of Inuyasha nor Harry Potter.

Kagome groaned in annoyance, as the suns harsh rays lite up her room. She had been hoping to sleep longer today, she had no reason to rise early. As the light hit the glass in her window, making the temperature in her room go up.
Groaning once more, she turned over, so she now laid on her stomach. Turning her head away from the incoming light, she tried to enjoy the quiet of the morning and get back to sleep.
A knock sounded on her door, cracking one eye open, she glared at her wall. Mentally hoping whoever was there would leave, she was in no mood to wake up, nor was she in the mood to talk to anyone.
"Kagome dear, are you awake?" Her mother questioned, as she stood outside her daughters door, listening intently for any movement. Her mother sighed as she heard no response, not wanting to let her daughter sleep in, she knocked again, she understood her daughter's mood.
But the girl had been pouting and lazing about the house for the past two weeks. She needed to get in order, and decide the school she was going to, before summer ended.
Hearing her mother's persistent knocking, Kagome groaned before slowly rising from her bed. Half awake- she approached the door and opened it, looking curiously at her mother. "Yes, mama?" she questioned.
Her mother gave her a stern look, "Kagome it is well into the afternoon. Get dressed, you are going to the store to get some groceries" she ordered, her tone leaving no room for argument.
Kagome huffed, but nodded. There was no point in trying to argue with her mother; besides that, Kagome knew her mother meant well. "Okay, let me get dressed first" she responded quietly, her voice had lost its chipper tone since she had come back, that last time.
Her mothers hummed, and looked at her daughter. "That's fine, hurry though. I will be downstairs, come find me once your done" she stated, before leaving her daughter and going down the steps.
Kagome sighed, closing her door she let her body rest against the hard surface. She was dreading the trip out to a public place, but knew it had to be done. Stepping away from the door, she made her bed quickly. Once her room was straightened she grabbed and fresh change of clothing and made her way into the bathroom.
After cleaning herself off and getting dressed, Kagome tied up her hair before beginning to brush her teeth. After rinsing, she frowned as she looked at her tongue intently. Or more so, the marks on her tongue. They had been there since that day within her child hood. She didn't know the cause of them, she had feeling her mother did, but she wouldn't tell her. So she didn't bother to push her mother for answers.
What peaked her curiosity on the marks however, was that with each year that had passed, a mark disappeared. At this moment, she only had two marks remaining. She wished she knew what the marks, and their disappearing meant.
"Kagome!"
Her mother's yell brought her from her thoughts, "Coming Mama!" she yelled. Leaving the bathroom, she made sure she was presentable before making her way downstairs. As she came into the kitchen, she saw her mother sitting at the table. Looking over what seemed to be old documents. Kagome shook her head, "Where is the grocery list?" she questioned.
Her mother jumped slightly, pulling out a small piece of paper, she handed that and money to her daughter. "Hurry home as soon as you can" she stated, "I have something I'd like to talk to you about."
Kagome looked at her mother curiously, before nodding her head and taking the paper and money from her. "Okay, I'll be back soon" Not waiting for her mother's reply, Kagome left the kitchen and put on her shoes, before going outside and heading towards the door.

Kagome hummed lightly to herself, as she made her way up the steps to the shrine, while trying to hold to grocery bags in her hands without dropping them. The trip there and back had been uneventful. Thankfully the store wasn't busy when she was there, making it easy for her to shop quickly and leave.
As she reached the top of the steps, she sighed, as she looked around. This shrine had been her home for the past seven years, and although she didn't mind living with her grandfather. She still missed her hometown, she hadn't seen it since she was six.
Her sight traveled down to the concrete floor, triggering another ache in her heart. She missed the mass amount of nature, that she had in her home town. Sure, the shrine had some nature, but not enough to make her heart content.
Looking up she looked at the well house, wanting nothing more then for the well to work once more. She had enjoyed the pass immensely, not only had she found great and true friends there. She had also found her first 'love', she smiled, not to mention all of the raw nature the past held.
Shaking her head to bring herself out of her thoughts, she took a deep breath before starting towards her home. Hoping that maybe, her mother would fix her favorite meal for dinner tonight. Once she got inside, she quietly slipped her shoes off, before making her way down the hall and into the kitchen, hoping to find her mother there.
"Mama, I'm home." she stated, while smirking lightly as her mother jumped slightly at the sound of her voice.
Her mother turned her attention towards Kagome, while putting a hand to her chest, trying to calm her frantically beating heart. "My goodness Kagome, I didn't hear you come in, can you put the food away, and then join me?" she questioned from her position at the table.
Kagome nodded, curiosity overwhelming her, she quickly set to her task. Within a few moments, her task was done and she joined her mother at the table, all the while looking at the papers on it curiously. "What's is all of that?" she questioned, while motioning towards the papers.
Her mother looked up, a serious expression on her face. Laying the paper she had in her hands, onto the table. "Kagome, summer is ending soon. Since you have been in a less then sociable mood, I have collected some schools from you to choose from." She stated, while handing some of the papers to her daughter.
Kagome took the papers, looking them over curiously with a frown. She knew her mother was right about needing to find a school, but she was also very pushy. She chuckled mentally, that must have been where she got it from. She rose a brow in confusion as she looked over one certain paper, but before she could question her mother about it, her mother began speaking.
"Kagome, I know you have been asking a lot of questions, about..well, those marks and I think its time to tell you what they mean" her mother stated quietly.
That got Kagome's full attention, putting the papers down, she looked at her mother curiously."Okay" she stated, waiting for her to continue.
Her mother sighed, "Its a curse ran down from family, though bloodline. My side to be more specific, most of the time, it is very rare. It usually isn't activated until you are associated with dark magic." seeing she still had her daughter attention, she continued, "As I'm sure you have noticed, each year that passes are mark will vanish. When the marks disappear, you will fall asleep."
Kagome titled her head to the side slightly, as she looked at her mother. Her mind taking in this information, while strange, it wasn't the most bazaar thing she heard. If demons exist, then magic can obviously exist too. "So, I fall asleep, for how long? Is there a way to stop it? Or..slow it down?"
Her mother sighed, "It is a sleep you will never wake up from. Yes there is, I was hoping, that when you had meet Inuyasha the curse would be lifted, but I guess, he wasn't meant to be your one, or your soul mate."
Now this truly puzzled her, She knew she had loved Inuyasha, he was after all her knight in shining armor and she had felt a strong connection with him. She also knew her mother approved of Inuyasha, she had heard the term 'mate' while in the past, she guessed that it was a shorter version from the term soul mate.
"Wait" she questioned," You mean, to stop these marks and me falling asleep, I need to find a soul-mate? But! I only have two more marks left, which gives me two more years, I'm too young, I'll never find a soul mate in time, how will I know?!" she exclaimed, while looking at her mother as though she had lost her mind.
Her mother sighed, while rubbing her temples as she thought over her response. "I know honey, but its the way of our family. But not just any male would do, it preferably has to be a male with dark powers, or they are usually called something else, a name I am forgetting at the moment" she explained patiently, hoping for her daughter to grasp onto it, so she can further explain.
Kagome frowned, as she took in her mothers words. So, she would have to find someone to love her, and the correct one, within two years? Not to mention one that had to possess dark magic, how was the possible? She didn't know of anyone that even used magic around here.
"but..how" her eyes widened, as she remembering the pamphlet she saw earlier on. Pulling it from the pile, she looked it over before looking back at her mother. "So, you want me to go to this magic school? But I don't even know how to use magic."
Her mother frowned at her daughters outburst, but she could understand the aggravation. "Calm down Kagome, you do know how to use magic. It is just sealed because, you aren't trained with it.
This school will help you in that sense." she stated, "I have talked to their man in charge of this school, and he said they could take you. I know this is a lot to process, but, please think it over. I will give you a few days to think about it" With that said, her mother stood from her seat, giving her daughter and light kiss on her forehead she left the table to get started on dinner.
Kagome frowned as she looked down at the pamphlet. "Hogwarts, school of witchcraft and wizardry hm?" Kagome mumbled, while looking at the contents inside the pamphlet. This should be interesting.

As the weeks passed, the summer was ending quickly, and the first signs of fall were starting to show. Kagome looked out of her window, as a crisp breeze came in through it, instantly chilling her room. Shaking her head, to clear her thoughts, she looked down at her bed. On it were two suitcases waiting to be packed, she had finally made a decision on the school she would be attending.
It was one that would, require her to England. Something she was both excited and nervous about. Taking all of her clean clothes she put them in the suitcases, along with some of her more valuable positions.
Once everything was packed and ready, Kagome looked around her near empty room. Today she would be leaving with her mother, to get her supplied for school. Thankfully her mother would be seeing her off to the train station, something she was incredibly happy about, as it helped settle her nerves.
"Kagome, are you ready?" her mother questioned.
Kagome nodded, even though the motion went un noticed by her mother. "yeah, mama! I'll be down in a little." grabbing her bags, she looked around her room once more. Before leaving and closing the door behind her.
She made her way downstairs, to see her mother waiting impatiently by the door with her own luggage. Her brother and grandfather were also near the door, waiting to see them off. Her mother looked at her, "Do you have your passport, and other identifications?" she asked her daughter.
Kagome nodded, before being squished in a hug by her grandfather. "Be good Kagome" he stated quietly. Seeing her nod, he backed away to give a hug to his daughter, while Souta came to greet his sister. "W-why do you have to go Kagome?!I don't want you to!"the small boy exclaimed, as he hugged his sisters' legs tightly.
Kagome looked down at her mother, smirking slightly as she ruffled his hair. "Don't worry Souta, I'll be back on winter break" she stated, before giving him a slight hug. After her mother gave her grandfather and younger brother, the two females left the home and made their way to the airport. Soon they would be on their way to England.
After a twenty four hour flight, Kagome and her mother finally made it to England. Both females left the plane, stretching out as they did so. Kagome frowned and looked at her mother as they waited for their luggage. "Couldn't we have flown here on broomsticks, or something?" she whined slightly.
Her mother laughed lightly at her complaint. "Of course not dear, it wasn't I that had THOSE kind of magical powers, but your father. Not to mention, you would have gotten expelled before even starting to school, for doing that"
After getting their luggage, they went through the airport, Kagome following her mother."Where exactly are we going?" she questioned.
Her mother hummed, instead of answering lead her to an abandoned part of the airport. Kagome rose a brow, as her mother laid her hand against the wall. After a few moments her hand shimmered lightly, covered in a light purple glow. A few more moments later, when the glow disappeared a door took the place, of the use to be empty space. Her mother looked at her daughters shocked expression, looking around she quickly opened the door, and ushered her daughter inside.
As soon as they were through, the door disappeared. Leaving Kagome to look at her mother confused, "What was that?" she questioned, "I thought you said you didn't have magic."
Her mother shook her head, "I said I didn't have that sort of magic. I have some, it just isn't as powerful as other wizard/witches, now come on we have shopping to do."
It was then Kagome noticed, they were standing in the middle of a hallway. Seeing her mother leaving her behind, she quickly followed behind her, curious on what exactly they would be shopping for.
argh, I can't find what age Harry and the others started school, so I'll say...they are all around 14 XD
