Based on the song, "A Sorta Fairytale" by Tori Amos. I recommend listening to this song while reading this story…
Disclaimer: Bla bla bla, not mine, bla bla bla, you know the drill.
Notes: OK, after re-reading the first chapter, I've realized that what I wrote, was um… well, it's really bad. Heh heh… ^_^''' … So hopefully I can improve upon things in this chapter. ^-^

Chapter Two
"and I'm so sad
like a good book
I can't put this
day back…
a sorta fairytale with you…"
InuYasha was a strange being. I had started to think that this was an escapee from some mental hospital, or one of those crazy people you see doing weird stunts on TV. His one arm was tight around my shoulder as I half-dragged him along the dirt road.
"You know, you could help by walking a little," I said. "It's hard carrying dead weight."
"I am in no condition to walk, mortal!"
"Stop calling me mortal, I told you, my name is Matt! And yes, you are in a condition to walk, unless you're paralyzed or something, which I highly doubt."
"You would know nothing of such matters, you are a mortal child."
"Child! I am fourteen years old!"
"Really?" His ears twitched. "You don't look a day older than ten."
I stamped my foot indignantly. "I do too look a day older than ten."
"Ha!"
"Ha yourself, dog boy!"
"What did you call me!?"
"You heard me, kibble breath!"
"Ahck, I'll show you!" InuYasha suddenly loosened his grip from around me and swung around to face me. He gritted his teeth and poised himself as if he were going to attack. I giggled.
"WHAT!?" he snapped.
"It worked." I beamed.
"What worked?"
"I knew if I made you mad enough, you'd eventually get on your own two feet. See? I am smart."
InuYasha frowned and narrowed his eyes. "Stupid mortal."
I laughed. "Not so stupid… Come on, let's go."
InuYasha crossed his arms. "Hmph!"
"I said let's go!"
"I'm not going anywhere with you!"
I rolled my eyes. "Fine then. Stay." I turned and kept walking. A few seconds later, I heard the pitter-patter of feet that I had been expecting. "What? I thought you weren't going anywhere with me?"
"Well I'm not going to stand here all day looking like an idiot, now am I!"
I shrugged and continued walking. "So, where are you from?" He didn't reply. "Hey, ain't you gonna talk to me?" Still silence. "Fine then, suit yourself."
"What's this home of yours like, then?" he huffed.
I chuckled to myself. "Just a normal house…"
"And what would you call normal?"
"One-story, brick, the usual. I live with my mom and dad, but they're always so busy at work they're hardly home, except at night."
"One-story brick? What is that?"
"Well, you see, bricks are… oh, nevermind! You'll see when you get there… You really aren't from around here are you?"
"If you must know, I'm from Japan…"
"Japan? Huh, weird… funny you don't look Japanese, and you hardly have an accent at all…"
"Hmmph."
"Oh, hmmph yourself. Well, how did you get here then? Why were you lying on the road?"
"I…" he started to shout. Then he paused, just staring blankly into space. The light breeze shifted his hair and his clothing side to side in a delicate manner, making the scene appear even more solemn. "I don't know," he finally said, his voice low.
"You're holding out on me…" I said with a grin.
"No really, I'm not," he said, still staring blankly.
I still felt as if he knew something, but I didn't want to prolong this awkward situation, so I subsided. "I'm on Candid Camera, aren't I?" I said with a chuckle.
His ears twitched, and he looked up at me unknowingly.
"Oh… well… I suppose you don't have Candid Camera in Japan, do you?"
"No."
"Ah… Mmmhmmm, I see. Well…"
"Look, I don't apologize to people very often, so consider this an honor. I'm sorry for being so cold and hateful toward you, but I'm very confused right now about… stuff… and I just need a place to rest the night, then I'll leave tomorrow and be on my way, and you'll never have to think of me again."
"Hey, sounds fine to me," I said. "I just hope my parents don't freak because I'm bringing a stranger home for the night. But I can tell them you're a new guy at school or something, just coming to spend the night. I still don't know how I'm going to explain the clothes and dog ears and all, though…"
"Are demons not so common here, then?"
"Yes, but… different sorts, I guess you could say."
InuYasha nodded. "How much longer until we arrive at your village?"
"Village? Well, we're in the city limits right now, but a good ten minutes or so, and we'll be at my house."
"City limits? Oh yes… I heard Kagome say something…" He paused.
"Yeah, who's this Kagome person you keep talking about?"
"No one you need be concerned with!" he snapped.
"Jeez, alright!"
"Can I ask you something, mortal?" He narrowed his eyes at me.
"It's Matt. And yes, go ahead."
He narrowed his eyes even more. "Matt … how come you trust me so much?"
"Hmmm?"
"How come you trust me so much to just let me come to your house and stay?"
"Well… I dunno. I don't get any bad vibes from you, but you are quite strange." He twitched at this. "But I don't think you're a psycho axe-murderer or anything, so yeah, I trust you."
"I'm flattered," he said, looking quite pissed off instead.
"You're welcome. Now good, we're almost to the highway now. See, talking does make the time go by faster, doesn't it?"
"Whatever you say, mor. . . Matt."
I smiled and nodded. This was some hell of a day, one that I wouldn't be forgetting anytime soon. I now began to understand that this guy wasn't nuts… just different. And not a bad piece of eye candy, either…
I knew that he wouldn't just open up and talk to my right away, but after I got him home, I was gonna get his whole story. This guy intrigued me like no one else ever had. Perhaps that was why I trusted him so much, because I wanted to know more about him… Or maybe it was something else… Maybe it was destiny…

Hullo all… Well, this Chapter isn't as great as I wanted it to be, but things'll start getting better in the next, I promise! The next couple of chapters or so will be in the form of diary entries, then perhaps I'll go back to regular writing. We'll see…
I hope you enjoy this story so far though, and I apologize for taking so damn long… A lot of unexpected stuff has come up recently, and you know how it is…
But the story starts getting better soon, so stay tuned! ^-^
