Chapter 1: Comfort in Unexpected Places

It was a dark, yet beautiful night in Sengoku Jidai. The stars were shining brightly as Kagome was contemplating the scene not too long ago. The scene that she still couldn't comprehend. She was sitting by herself by the attractive spring in the middle of nowhere…

*~*Flashback*~*

It was another ordinary day. Setting up the camp, starting a comforting fire, killing yet another shard less demon. Yup, another ordinary day…as though we seem. For some apparent reason, Kagome didn't feel like herself. She let another two years slip out of her hands. She still didn't know how InuYasha thought about her, and still didn't admit to him and herself the way she felt about him. Kagome kept herself just for him, waiting to be his mate.

She felt miserable. She could have any guy she wanted with her enchanting beauty, her wit, her ability to forgive, and her incredible kindness. She was the perfect girl. She could just run away with Koga for all she cared, but she did care, about InuYasha and her emotion was just too strong.

It was night…perfect timing. Kagome finally gained enough courage to speak to him. She went to InuYasha and asked if he would have a private conversation with her in the woods. He agreed. They walked together in awkward silence. When they reached the spring, Kagome started talking.

"InuYasha, it's been two years since we met. I still have no idea on how you feel about me. Whether it would be hatred, love, and friendship, whatever. Please tell. But you must swear to tell the truth. But you must know that I love you, and always will no matter what"

"Yes Kagome, it has been a long time, but I don't have any romantic feelings for you whatsoever. You are nothing but a shard detector for me…offering free services. I'm terribly sorry…I don't feel the same way you feel about me."

Anger flared inside of Kagome. A thousand things went shooting through her brain. His statement made her jaw drop. She couldn't believe what he said. She replied "You mongrel! Now I think of you the way I did the first time I saw your mutt face! Am I just your toy whose heart you break? So your heart is still with that dead clay pot?! I will never say that creature's name! Go run to her! I never want to see you again! So much for your free services! Go away you selfish freak! Everyone was right! You deserve nothing. I give myself to you and you refuse! I said go away you son of a bitch!"

"You whore! You little bitch! Don't you fuckin' talk about me, my personal life, and people who are close to me that way! Don't you care that I could kill you instantly? You really want it don't you?! You bitch! I protect you and this is how you fuckin' repay me? I'm not taking this shit! Go sleep with your ten other guys! I don't give a shit. You know that you're a whore. Showin your boobs to any fuckin' guy you see!" Anger raised inside of InuYasha…he thought that Kagome would just cry and run away. She was stronger then he thought.

"And to think that I saved my virginity to a son of a bitch like you! I said go away you useless mother fucker! You really are nothing and you shame your mother fuckin' family and friends? You don't care? Am I really that much of a whore?! And who the hell are the fuckin' 10 guys that I sleep with?! I will never flash, you mother fucker! Go to hell with your dead clay pot! I said go now!"

InuYasha had enough of Kagome's rants. "I've had enough shit from you."

He instantly seized her wrists and slapped her face until she started to bleed. He tried to put his hand up her skirt but she immediately pushed him away.

"Isn't that what you wanted bitch?" InuYasha said with a growl.

Kagome slapped him, grabbed her book bag and ran as fast as she could through the dark forest. She was surprised not to hear footsteps after her…

She finally found a spring and decided to relax. This was really just too much for her to take. She still couldn't believe the vivid scene. She sat on a log and started thinking. `Ha, a shard detector…who does he think he is? That son of a bitch. I should really try to go back. I never even said goodbye to my trustworthy friends and Shippo. I really feel stupid. I can't believe I stayed that long. `After thinking too hard she fainted. Kagome didn't care where she was…

`Ah…I smell blood.' Sesshoumaru said to himself. `And to make it better, it's human blood.' Human blood always tickled Sesshoumaru's sensitive nose. It made him excited and full of anticipation. Sesshoumaru fallowed the scent and found it in the forest. He gasped. `Ah…InuYasha's bitch. Now I could really feel my hands on Tetsaiga. This isn't possible. There's blood all over her. Isn't InuYasha protective of his wench? What? I smell him all over her. She looks repulsive…how can this be?'

Sesshoumaru carried the frail Kagome over his shoulder and went to his enormous estate.

Kagome was awakened by the sunrise in the Western Lands. She stretched her delicate arms then opened her dark blue eyes. She was shocked to see that she wasn't on the cold forest floor. She felt all around her body, her hair, hands, and face was clean and healed. No blood! She looked at her attire…it was so comfortable! She was wearing a midnight blue kimono and was staring at it with awe. She couldn't believe that she was on earth. She was even sleeping on a luxurious feather mattress! Her sheets were beige silk! She never felt this good.

Suddenly Sesshoumaru entered her room…
