I woke up to hearing the glass door from my balcony open up. Already I knew who it was. I sat up and wiped the sleep from my eyes and looked over to my mate to be.
“Good umm what time is it Sessh?”
“It is dawn. I did not mean to wake you.” He came and sat down on my feather filled canopy bed and gave me a smirk.
“Okay then how may I assist you my lord?” I gave him a devilish look. I knew how those kind of words can affect men I just did not know how well it would affect the demon male in front of me.
“Woman knock off your antics I need to speak with you.”
“About my Sesshy?” I questioned him with a seductive tone.
“I will have you know that you are difficult to work with.”
“Yes I know that perfectly well now tell me what is on your mind?”
“Your terms to the mating.” He trailed off as I blushed at the word.
“Oh yes I forgot about that.” 'I knew that would come out wrong'
“Did you now? I doubt that.”
“Well I did not forget but you just came barging into my room at the crack of dawn and expect me to remember what was going on last night.”
“Yes”
“You are insufferable”
“No woman you are insufferable I am a lord.” I gave him one of those looks my mother taught me and again it worked like a charm.
“Kagome I'm sorry please stop looking at me that way”
“Alright now what is it you want to speak to me about the conditions?” He glanced at the bed for a moment before he spoke.
“I agree to your terms and I will start hunting for you now if you would like.”
“I am not hungry now.” As soon as I spoke my belly grumbled it protests.
“Are you hungry now miko?”
“Yes I'm hungry now all knowing one.” I told him sarcastically as he frowned at me.
“Aww look don't give me the puppy dog face and I won't mock you.”
“Agreed. But I do not have a puppy face that was when I was a pup.”
“Build a bridge Sesshomaru, build a bridge and get over it...” I finished while yawning.
“What are you going to hunt for me?” I asked after he was done boring his golden eyes into my skull. I couldn't help but laugh out loud.
Sesshomaru
When she started to laugh like that I could not be angry or even upset with her. I could never be she is one of a kind. Then I heard the wind some in through her doors and carry the laughter across the grounds it was like the land lived through her laughter and happiness. The birds started to chirp and the leaves started to rustle. It was a music that I could never tire of. Just her laughter could bring so much joy to my life and she didn't even realize it. Then she looked over to me with her aqua blue eyes that held a tint of green like the ocean in them and spoke.
“You are one of a kind my Sesshy.”
“You are the only one of your kind out there. So you have no room to speak.” I added playfully. I could see the laughter fill her eyes again.
“Oh do I not have room to speak my lord? It was a compliment you know.” she said then smiled her heart stopping smile.
“Yes I believe I do but it is always much fun to pick on you.” As I scooted closer to her she gravitated towards me. I could see in her eyes what she wanted. I could smell it in the air every time I became to close to her. I arouse her just as she does me but has yet to figure it out. I intended to finish my descend upon her mouth but as fast as the moment came it was gone as the door of the balcony flew open with the pressure of the wind and slammed into a wall. I growled low in my throat as I heard his voice enter my lady's air. Inuyasha...My idiot of a half brother. He broke her heart once before and it was not going to even come close to a second time. I was always going to pay attention to her needs unlike this poor excuse of a demon. He would not become close with her again.
“Inuyasha what are you doing here!? Get out!” I heard her scream and that was all the initiative I needed to throw him out of her chamber. I picked the whelp up by his collar and threw him across the grounds. I heard a gasp from behind me and it was Kagome in all her beauty glaring daggers into my back.
Kagome
Of coarse I was angry with him for how he threw Inuyasha out of my room without a second thought he could have seriously injured him and I would have had to deal with Inuyasha living in my castle until he healed. Good thing that he's a half dog demon otherwise I think he might have just broke every bone in his body from that throw. Sesshomaru and I were walking through the expansive hallways to the infirmary where Inuyasha scurried off to after he could actually stand.
“You know Sesshomaru I could have handled things on my own you didn't have to be so cold.” He made a side glance in my direction and decided to not speak, so I went on.
“I just don't want him dead you know. You just threw him. I mean what if he was barging in for something important wouldn't you have felt bad just a little?”
Then he simply said,
“No I would not have.”
“Oh my goodness Sesshomaru you could have killed him! Can you at least show a little concern?!”
I finished in a huff.
“Of coarse I showed concern. Towards you when he came barging in to your rooms without a single hint he was here on the grounds. My concern was not for him but for the hurt he has caused you in the past.” Then I just stopped walking and looked to him for a minute.
“You threw him out the window because you were worried about my feelings?”
“Yes.”
“Oh well okay I guess there was no real harm done just a fractured tail bone and broken wrists. He will heal fast right?” I was sorry that he was hurt at my home but I still do not like him very much as a person or demon he is just the guy that broke my heart for the first time end of story.
“Yes he will heal quickly. By tomorrow morning it will be as if it never happened.”
“Good I don't want him here for too long he still makes me angry.” Sesshomaru knew that seeing him or being near him did not hurt me it just made me angry now because he was always so full of it and I didn't want that in my life any more. We had our time together and now is the time in my life where I need to stop worrying so much about other people and focus solely on what I want and need to do. When we finally made it to the infirmary Sessh asked me,
“Are you sure you want to go in there? We could go out to the western gardens and I'll hunt.”
“That is very thoughtful but I need to see how he is doing. After all I am the Lady of these lands am I not? I am grown up enough to check on this whelp.” After that was said I stepped through the oak wood door and saw Inuyasha on the first bed laying on his stomach.
“Oi! Kagome what is that bastard doing here?!”
“He is and always will be welcome in my home as for you I am not so sure so keep your voice down before I put you outside the gates on that broken backside of yours.” When I was done announcing my threat I went to his bed to look over his injuries just to be the proper lady.
“I'm sorry but he is the one that threw me off the roof for no reason and should apologize!”
“I will not apologize for my actions but you will keep your voice down in front of my lady.” Sesshomaru did not have to yell, hell he barely even had to speak for his message to get across. But like always Inuyasha caught something in those words.
“WHAT! SHE IS NOT YOUR WOMAN SESSHOMARU!! SHE WILL NEVER BE!”
That is where I step in.
“How dare you Inuyasha! You have no rights to me what so ever and I'll have you know that he is my lord and that would make me his lady so pipe down!”
“Kagome how could you let him court you!?” Inuyasha voiced his disregard in a more subtle approach.
“Look Inuyasha I am being courted by Sesshomaru and I plan to mate him so you can drop the subject from here.” I had to have my message clear to him and I could no longer be nice to him, even though I was not being the perfect lady he still had to be put in his place. He was someone who walked out of my life for a rut. I was no longer entitled by any means to be nice to him. Then I turned around to get out of the hospital beds and the stacks of medicine in the cabinets. Sesshoumarus voice drifted to me so low only I could here him,
“Give me a moment.”
Sesshomaru
I watched as my lady walked through the doorway before I turned around to look at the poorest excuse of a man.
“Inuyasha, you will here me. You need to stay away from Kagome. And if you honestly believe you could become friends again with her that is completely her decision not yours. Know this, you are to stay away from her this moment on until Kagome herself tries to contact you. You know Inu instincts so as of now it is difficult to control myself around my intended. So if you cannot be satisfied with leaving here then you will face me in my demon form Inuyasha. You decide.”
Now that was decided for him I whipped around and was out the door before he could protest. I just needed to find her scent. That amazing scent of vanilla and cherry blossoms. Just her scent.
As I walked through the court yard I saw her horse Diamond. As he trotted to my side I looked upon his forehead where his diamond lay. It reminded me of Kagome and the fact that I will need to hunt for her shortly. Other than that it brought up the memory of us together in the cave where I laid my claim on her. Where she told me that one of her conditions were for me to fall in love with her. She did not believe I loved her unconditionally due to her diamond not shining or some odd reason. Which is what I need to ponder about.
“Diamond I need to speak with you old friend.”
“Well what do I owe for this special surprise?” He spoke nonchalantly.
“I am sure you have heard the rumors around the castle have you not?” He considered my question for a moment the gave me a nod.
“Yes you are correct I have and I just spoke to Kagome about some matters at hand. To be more exact the matters that are in your hands as of now.”
I knew perfectly well what he was getting at but I wanted to try and pry some information about what exactly Kagome wanted me to prove.
“Yes the matters at hand are the conditions I have agreed to accomplish. I do not know what she expects of me.”
“She expects you to fall in love with her”
“I don't understand, I do love her.” How could she not know that I love her? She is the light when my days are so dark. She is what I thought about every time I went to war. She is all I want how can she not know that I love her?
“She does not know that there is a spell over her Sesshomaru...”
“Excuse me?” I felt her aura approaching and I could not speak of this now. I ordered,
“You will explain to me what you are meaning by this spell of hers later.” When I felt the wind bristle through my clothing I knew she was prodding the grounds for my person. I always did love how she used her essence just to find me. Every time she used air you could smell her gracious scent and it was a little piece of heaven for me. I was not paying attention to the elemental who was in the forefront of my person I was focused on the greenery surrounding the area with the varieties of lilies that Kagome adored. As I seen her she strode over to where Diamond and I were at and sighed heavily.
Kagome
“'sigh'” I just wanted him to hold me. I didn't even want to stand any longer I was just so worn out. I did not understand what was wrong with me but I knew my Sessh could make me feel better. After I leaned my head atop his shoulder I was just about to fall asleep when he spoke.
“You are tired.” he grabbed me by the arms and looked into my eyes, I couldn't help but smile at him. He seemed to be looking me over on behalf of my usually overpowering energy that was saturated at the moment.
“I am well. Just very tired yes. Will you bring me to my chambers I would like to take a nap.”
All of a sudden I was picked up by his strong arms and we were cascading down the hallways of my palace.
