Just to remind you, (Thanks to Catty; Catherine!) vampires who are half human CAN be in the daylight without being burnt or dust, but they can still be harmed. Crosses, stakes, garlic, and holy water can harm them. It's the full-fledged vamps that CAN'T be in the daylight.

Chapter 22

Bringing the pups home and yet….Naraku and Kikyo again

*Hospital; Kagome's Room*

It has been four days since the birth of Exotica and Mistof had been born. Both pups and mother were doing great. Inuyasha and Shippo have been by everyday and stayed a few past visiting hours. Kagome had gained all her strength. She was waiting the day to leave and return home. Today was the day. She was very thrilled to leave. She was getting hers and her pups' stuff together when the door opened. She turned to see….

"INUYASHA!" She squealed happily as she ran into her mate's awaiting arms. "It's so good to hold you in my arms, Kagome." Inuyasha nuzzled her neck. They then heard squealing from their pups. They turned to see both Exotica and Mistof with their arms out, wanting their parents to hold them. They obliged happily and each parent took one pup in their arms. Kagome took Mistof in hers as Inuyasha took Exotica in his. Both pups snuggled into their parents' arms.

Inuyasha nuzzled his daughter's neck gently and she nuzzled him back. He then started tickling her. You could hear her small giggling and her moving in her father's arms. Inuyasha smiled at his daughter. He kept tickling her. Kagome was done feeding Mistof as she heard her daughter's laughter. She turned to her mate and daughter and saw the scene. After a few minutes of getting Inuyasha to stop tickling their daughter, they packed up Kagome's and the pup's things, and left.

*Shrine*

As soon as they got to the shrine, Shippo leapt at his parents, Inuyasha caught him. He looked at him and saw the firm stare. "Shippo," Inuyasha said firmly. Shippo nodded and Inuyasha put him on the ground. Shippo then grabbed his siblings' stuff and Inuyasha took Kagome's suitcase. As they walked into the shrine, Sakura and Souta came walking in. "Welcome home, Kagome." Both greeted. Sakura took Mistof from Kagome and took him, with Inuyasha following, to the nursery. Kagome walked to the couch and plopped herself onto it.

Shippo came and climbed onto Kagome's lap. She smiled tiredly and stroked his tail. He purred. Inuyasha and Sakura came walking down and sat near them. Inuyasha sat next to Kagome and Sakura sat on the loveseat. Inuyasha gently scooped Kagome into his lap. She smiled and laid her head on his chest. He laid his left hand on her head and his right arm draped over her legs with Shippo still in her lap. He kissed her head and laid his on hers.

Sakura watched as they cuddled together. "I'm so glad that Kagome found Inuyasha. If she hadn't broken up with Hojo, I don't know what would have happened to her. I'm just really glad that he's able to protect her and my grandkids." She thought as she looked at the couple.

She then nodded her head to the kitchen and Inuyasha nodded. They both looked to se Kagome and Shippo asleep. Both smiled. "I think she needs rest." Sakura whispered. Inuyasha nodded in agreement. Sakura left to get dinner ready and Inuyasha stood up and took both his mate and pup to "their" room.

*Kagome's Room*

As he opened the door, he walked to the bed and gently sat them down. He covered them both up and as he began leaving, Kagome awoke. "Inuyasha?" She whispered. Inuyasha turned to see her looking at him with tired eyes. "Hai, Kagome?" he asked as he sat on the bed. "Will you stay?" She asked. He nodded and took his shoes and socks off. He then climbed into bed and they both fell fast asleep.

*Next Day*

Inuyasha awoke the next morning to see that it was only he and Kagome in the bed. Shippo was gone. Inuyasha became alarmed. He looked around and sniffed for his scent; raspberry and sand wood. He found it and another scent that was the same as Kagome's, but had an elder tinge to it. He found it that it was Sakura's. He saw a note next to Kagome's head. He took and read.

Dear mommy and daddy,

I know when you read this that I'm not here. Don't worry. I've gone to school with cousin Souta and I'll be back at the same time as he. I woke up early to get breakfast. Please don't be angry with me for not telling you where I was.

Shippo

Inuyasha let his breath out and smelled breakfast. He smiled and gently shook Kagome. She groaned, but didn't awake. He shook her firmer and she awoke. She looked at Inuyasha and smiled. He smiled back. "Morning, love." Inuyasha greeted. "Morning." She greeted back. They got out and dressed.

Inuyasha wore a white t-shirt and his usual pants, bots, and duster. Kagome wore a rainbow long-sleeve shirt. It looked like the '70's shirt. (I'm wearing one right now and its beautiful!) She wore black jeans and boots

*Downstairs; Kitchen*

As soon as they dressed, they hurried down to breakfast. They ate bacon, grits, eggs, and toast with milk and orange juice. They hurriedly ate and left for school.

*School*

They arrived just as the bell rang. Sango and Miroku where there to greet them as well as Kikyo and Naraku. As they walked into the school, Kikyo moved to Inuyasha. "Hello, lover." She purred in his ear. Kagome looked at her with disgust as the others. "Back off, bitch!" Inuyasha yelled. He threw Kikyo off himself. Kikyo got up and dusted herself off, ignoring what he said. She tried to grab him, but she was harshly pushed away. Everyone looked to see Kagome standing in front of Inuyasha. Her eyes were blazed with fire. Her aura flared with anger. She looked at Kikyo venomously.

Her hands were balled into a fist. Inuyasha knew that if she didn't calm down, she would be dangerous. He gently wrapped his arms around her and buried his face into her hair, whispering soothing words. Kagome calmed instantly and relaxed in his arms. Kikyo watched at the display with disgust. Naraku also watched with anger. Kikyo walked on and so did Naraku. Both vowed to get the other to themselves.
