InuYasha Fan Fiction ❯ A wedding march for you. ❯ Chapter 1
[ A - All Readers ]
First songfic. :D It might be pretty bad….>> What am I saying, it is pretty bad. Oh well.
InuYasha does not belong to me, or however the generic disclaimer goes. Neither does Miyavi’s Kekkonshiki no Uta. Nor does Miyavi. ^_^

Bai bai.
He had been a fool.
A fool to ever think that she would wait forever.
In a strange way, it made him feel proud of her, made his heart twinge just a bit to know that she had been so loyal to him.
After all this time.

All those happy times they’d spent together.
Even though he wouldn’t have said it then.
But he did enjoy them. He’d enjoyed them immensely. His heart gave another twinge, as he thought about all the happy times in the future that they’d never share again.

It had been a rollercoaster from the very beginning. Sometimes, he was left apprehensive, and although he’d never shown her really, he’d cared for her. More than she could have known. He knew it was his fault. She was the most important thing, and the greatest, that had ever happened to him.
And he had let it slip away, like sand through a sieve, until all that was left were the fading memories.

And now, his nights, his bed, and his heart, were empty. He missed her. Because of him, and his callous attitude, he’d driven her away, the single ray of light of his dim and dreary days. Driven her into the arms of his brother no less. He’d tried so hard, to shower her with tokens of his affections, making sure she was well cared for, but he realized too late, the same reason why he fallen for her in the first place.
She didn’t care.
She didn’t want his money, or his title, or his looks. She loved him.
And he hadn’t realized until too late.

And now he sat, in the back row of their wedding. And surprisingly, the rush of hate for his half brother, who had stolen the woman he’d held so dearly in his heart, didn’t come. Only the soft waves of regret lapping at him. He looked as they stared at each other in the eyes, waiting to exchange wedding vows. And had to admit, they didn’t look half bad up there - not as good as she would have looked with him, but better than anyone else. Her ebony locks, silky and covered with a thin western style wedding veil, and her shimmering pearl white western styled wedding gown, her face and shining chocolate eyes.
He’d miss her very much so.

He wouldn’t have said it then, but if given the chance, he’d say it now.
I love you.
He was stupid. She loved him, with all her heart and being. She constantly reassured him of that. Her faith and trust in him never faltered. She loved him, like he loved her. But he never said it aloud. Not even when they were together. Fearing that it would make him weak.
That she would make him weak.
And she did, in a way, they day she left him, he’d been broken and lost.
But he couldn’t hold it against her. He could never hold it against her. It wasn’t her fault he had pushed her away, hardly ever spending any time with her.
He had been her first.
And he loved her.

Maybe, if he treated her better, and spent more time with her, their relationship wouldn’t have split. And they would be the ones up there instead. He was certain, that if given another chance, he would definitely do it right this time.
Whatever right was.

But right now, the most he could do for her, is to wish her luck. And hope they do well. Maybe, they can heal their broken relationship, given time. And he could be there for her, unlike before. Maybe it wouldn’t be the same as before, but what else could he do?
It could never go back to the way it was.
He only had the future to look forward to now.
