Chapter 1,

The cherry blossom petals fell from there branches, as a calm breeze overtook the land. The night was deafly quite, and the stars shone brightly in the midnight blue sky. Her heart ached though, through it all her heart still ached and yearned for him…for his touch. Yes her body did hurt, and desire, but it desired something that she may never have. Even if he loved her, what good is that if he can't be with her? What good is a promise if you can not keep it? Oh how Kikyo longed to hear him say that he loved her, and that he chose her over her reincarnation Kagome. But would she ever hear these words spoken? Her mind drifted off as the wind passed carrying the scent of the day's rain with it. Kikyo was tortured by her thoughts and her dreams. Did she dare sleep; did she dare to see him again? To fall in love again, to only be betrayed and have her dream turn into a nightmare? No, she rather go without sleep then to have the same tormenting dream over, and over, again. Yet sleeping or not, either or she was still living and dreaming the nightmare.
