A Winter Bliss
Snowflakes gently fluttered their way down, melting quickly as they touched a young woman's face.
The raven-haired girl ignored the cool droplet of moisture on her cheek and sighed; staring up at the white sky.

An angry black haired young man stomped his foot with inpatients. "Where is she? She should have brought back a cure from her time!" He growled.
**********
"Aye, Souta! You little brat, give my book back now!!" Kagome screamed, the young woman from earlier with raven hair. Her younger brother was teasing her because of something he had discovered on her text- book from school.
Souta smirked devilishly, "Kagome you love him!" he taunted happily, dodging one of Kagome's fists.
"Souta! You little snot, I do not love him!" she retorted, making to grab his head and pop it off his shoulders like a dolls head.
"Admit it Kagome! You love him, you want to be with him, just admit it!"
Kagome's anger was shoving its way over the red line; a deep magenta flooded her cheeks.
She sighed heavily, dropping her arms to her sides, "Alright you win…I do have feelings for Inuyasha." Defeat was imminent in her voice.
Her brother grinned gleefully before making another insult, "I knew it! Inuyasha is going to be my new brother!"
"WHAT?!" Kagome screamed, reaching out and grabbing his shirt collar.
Just then, the door slid open and a red kimono entered. Kagome's hand slipped off Souta's shirt collar; her eyes averted to her mother who, examined Inuyasha in his human form. `Oh great, this should be lovely.' Kagome thought to herself as she plunged to the floor on her knees.
"Aiya, who are you?" Ms. Higurashi questioned, smiling up at Inuyasha.
He glanced down at her, and in a small growl, attempted to answer nicely, but alas, an annoyed look overcame his face.
"Feh…you know who I am. Where is Kagome?"
`Oh… gods I'm going to die!!' Kagome's heart froze as she saw him stare at her. `His expression…oh lord I'm going to die!' her timid mind screamed anxiously at her.
Kagome's mother clapped her hands together and sighed with a happy tone, "Oh what happened to our cute ears and sliver hair Inuyasha?"
Inuyasha winced, "That's what I would like to find out from Kagome…" He shot a glare through the wall, Kagome catching it in her back, sending shivers through her body.
She stepped through the doorway into the other room, tightly grasping her book. Inuyasha's eyes followed her all the way till she appeared in front of him, trying to smile, but to avail.
"Well?" Inuyasha snorted loudly. She looked down at her feet.
"Well…we need to talk about this alone. How about you come with me for a Christmas walk?
"Feh, what's this?" He asked, grabbing the clothing from Kagome's free hand.
"Those? Oh well, those are clothes from my time; you don't want to look ODD now do you? Dress in these, and you will fit in perfect!" This time a real smile quirked her face. Inuyasha on the other hand…

A long slow breeze whipped through a big willow tree; crackling the branches and leaves. Snowflakes of soft white slipped through the gentle air current and landed on a girl and boy, walking hand in hand.
Kagome sighed deeply, starring down at the ground and shoving her freezing hands into her pockets. `Why can't we be like that? Oh yes, that's right, because Kikyou is his, I'm not more that a freaking shard detector.' she pondered, catching a glance at Inuyasha who seemed still annoyed by having to wear those clothes. `I just don't have enough…wits I guess to ask him about it I guess.' Her mood dropped by another ten percent.
Inuyasha turned his head to peek at her; his eyes searched for any signs that would lead him as to why she and he couldn't…click. He watched her and picked up that she kept glaring at the couple in front of them. `What's wrong? I know I'm not the best charmer, but maybe since Kagome is worrying me…' Before his thoughts were complete, his hands slowly slid to her waist, pulling her close.
The girl blushed slightly, "Ummm…" she murmured, she was too flattered to speak anything else. `How odd, something like this always happens when he is human, now if I can just get him to act like this in hanyou form too.' She smirked again. `But, why can't he change back? Is there something holding him back from becoming hanyou? That and why is he doing this when he told me that he didn't have feelings for me?'
"Inuyasha?" His eyes smothered her with attention.
"Are you…happy or mad?" Kagome placed her arms around him cautiously.
A droplet of snow landed on his nose, before he wiggled it off.
"Ka…Kagome?" he stuttered and had troubles answering.
"What do…you mean?" A cherry red enhanced his now brown eyes.
Kagome was silent; they were in the city; meaning lots of people, eavesdropping. "Inuyasha, do you mind talking later? We aren't alone anymore. Why not go meet some of my friends?" `Yah, lets go meet my friends so they can tease me about this guy that doesn't love me.' Kagome frowned.
Inuyasha blinked. `Gods, what have I gotten myself into?' "Hai Kagome"
**********
Inuyasha hung his coat, along with Kagome's on the coat rack; still pondering what the two were about to talk about, and if it was going to be good or…bad.
Kagome walked over and sat down across from him. Peering out the window she sighed deeply, watching the tiny drops of water hit the window, and passing citizens. He first looked at her, and then copied what she did. `Wow… her time is pretty, sometimes I guess.'
"Now, what can I get ya two lovebirds?" The middle-aged woman asked with a big smile and innocent glare over her spectacles. Her accent was…different.
Kagome froze. "Umm… well we aren't exactly…" Inuyasha cut her off.
"We would like a nice hot chocolate with some whipped cream on top, one straw."
The lady winked at him and set off behind the counter. Meanwhile Kagome turned her head towards the human sensation.
"What…are you DOING?" She exclaimed in a hushed hiss.
"What do you mean Kagome? This is what you want, isn't it? I mean…I would like this a lot."
"Wha…wha what?!" she stuttered. `How can he want this? He told me when I left, that I was nothing to him. Kikyou was all that mattered. What in the name of God is he trying to do? Torture my soul completely so he can have ALL of Kikyou back? What a bastard…' Kagome shot a dagger right through his heart.
"Here ya two are…" The lady placed a steaming mug of hot chocolate in front of them, and then sat down napkins. Good thing too, because Kagome was in no mood to have hot chocolate.
The now red faced woman shot up out of her chair and pointed a finger right in Inuyasha's face. She scowled at him, "Inuyasha… Why did you do this to me? You are such an ass!" She pulled her finger back, and ranked at her coat. Inuyasha stood and pulled it off for her; she grabbed it out of his hands. "Thanks…" she said half embarrassed and then quickly ran out the door.
The lady that had been serving them sighed slightly before sitting down on the other side of Inuyasha. He flopped back down into his chair and watched Kagome disappear in the maze of people outside. The lady grabbed his chin and looked into his eyes. "Dear, ya know what ya have to do. I mean, I myself have no idea what she was talkin' `bout, that's where ya come in." She pulled her hand away and leaned on the other elbow. Inuyasha sat transfixed at her words.
"Your right thanks a lot. Here is a tip, I hope it's enough." Inuyasha stood up and threw a $50 dollar bill in her arms. She blinked shocked, and followed after him. "ARIGATOU" she exclaimed down the street. He turned and waved. `Wow, what a nice lady…to bad her accent was so hard to understand sometimes.'
************
Kagome strolled down the street, thinking about what had just happened. `Inuyasha, why would he say something like that? I told him I didn't care who he had chosen. Now he is just rubbing it in my face!' Her thoughts were vivid with Kikyou kissing the hanyou. A huge growl escaped her throat, followed by a choke as saltwater tears fell to the ground.
************
The hanyou was slowly starting to wish that he was back in his hanyou form; it would be so much easier to track her. But the wet snowdrops wouldn't help much. He sighed deeply. "Damn Kagome. What is with you?" He asked aloud.
He stopped suddenly and looked shortly at the park. It was beautiful in the wintertime. "Feh…there's the bitch." Inuyasha snarled as he hurtled through the trees and snow. `Gods this would be SO much EASIER…' he kept thinking about his demon qualities that he missed so much.
************
Kagome was lying in the tire swing; gracefully doing circles, not to mention getting a huge headache, but it was worth it. The sky was so pretty, it reminded her of Inuyasha's silver hair. "What in the hell…why am I thinking about him!" she screamed sitting up and folding her arms. "Because you love him." Inuyasha's voice chimed in.
Kagome spun around, jumping out of the swing and trying to find where he was.
"Where are you Inuyasha? Go away, I don't need this shit from you!" Her voice echoed through the now, empty and darkening park.
"Kagome…I don't understand why are you are like this." His voice came from behind her, and she turned around still confused. `What does he want from me?'
"Inuyasha, you don't love me! You haven't ever loved me. That's the reason I'm acting like this. Because you are tormenting my heart and soul, and I cant take that pain!" anguish was obvious in her timid shaky voice.
Kagome's eyes darted from corner to corner, looking for some way to get out of the mad hole she had fallen into.
With one quick breath she sprinted over to an alleyway, but was intercepted by Inuyasha.
"Kagome, DAMNIT! Listen to me!" He grabbed her shoulders and shook her "I LOVE YOU WITH ALL OF MY HEART!! Accept that fact please, I beg you to." Inuyasha pulled her in closely.
`How could this possibly be true?' Kagome dug her face deeper into his shoulder and cried harder. Inuyasha picked her head up and looked into her red eyes. Something told Kagome that she couldn't back down from him. He had won the war and she was helpless now to do anything.
Inuyasha grimaced as her nails dug into his shoulders. "Kagome, why are you crying?"
She looked deep into his eyes, glad they weren't the usual amber orbs that trapped her soul. "Why am I crying? Inuyasha…" she took a deep breath and pulled away from his protective arms. "Do you remember telling me, two weeks ago, that you had chosen to go to hell with Kikyou? I do believe that you said, "Kagome, I was meant for Kikyou and she was meant for me. And if I had chosen you, only death would have came from the result." Do you remember that Inuyasha!?" She demanded.
He ran his fingers through her hair, and wrapped it around her ear. "Kagome… You have to know that I didn't mean that. Kikyou was right there she was controlling me… come on, why don't you believe me? Gods, please Kagome!! Why do you think I haven't been able to return to hanyou? Duh, its obvious something about me changed when I chose you!!" Once again, he wrapped Kagome up in his arms.
"But…but" She had it on the tip of her tongue. `Come on Kagome; tell him you love him too! You are such a BAKA!' she berated herself. "Inuyasha, I have something to tell you too." He glanced down at her; happiness tinted his eyes.
"What Kagome? What is it that you have to tell me?"
"I…Love you. I love you so much Inuyasha. Its just, I haven't had enough guts to tell you this." red flushed her pale cheeks. Inuyasha smiled with mischief.
"I'm glad you told me this finally, I don't know how much longer I could've taken not hearing that from you!" `How come Kagome never told me? Because of Kikyou, jeez.'
"Inuyasha?" Kagome voice rang through his head, as he came back to reality.
"What is it Kagome?" He gave her another tight hug. She smiled and pulled away from him again.
"I'm really happy you came to my time. You fit in perfectly."
"Well you know what Kagome?" She shook her head. "I am really glad to be here, and be with you…" He leaned his head down softly, kissing her rose red lips.
In shock, Kagome merely stood there for several seconds, before letting her eyelids slowly fold down. Inuyasha's hands gently caressed her shoulders, and then moved their way up to her head, forcing an even deeper kiss. Kagome's response was a small moan, before she pulled away from him smiling. "Inuyasha… This is what I've been waiting for, for a long time. Arigatou!" She placed her hands on the back of his neck.
"Gods Kagome, I could hold you like this forever." He whispered softly before kissing her again, this time a little more passionately.
***********
Snowflakes danced softly across the, what used to be green grass and filtered their way through big Pine trees.
The young woman and man walked peacefully out of the park, hand in hand; trickles of snowflakes covered their hair and bodies.
