Chapter 5- into the future (Part II)

Day 1 (first day in Kagome's time)

The gang climbed out of the well in the same order they went in. They came out of the dark and into the dim light of the sun in the shrine.

“Does that always happen Kagome?” Asked Miroku when they walked out of the shrine.

“No. That never happened before.” they crossed the yard to Kagome's house. “Come on in and I'll introduce you to my family.” She opened the back door and called to her brother. “Sota I'm home! I've got company!”

“Inuyasha!” Sota yelled from inside. He ran from the living room and into the kitchen to greet his hero. He stopped short of the door and starred at the others taking particular interest in Sango and Hachi. “Who are they Kagome?”

“Sota this is Sango and-.” Kagome began.

“The demon slayer! Cool!” Interrupted Sota.

“Cool?” Sango was confused. “I'm not cold. My armor keeps me warm enough but its too beautiful a day to be cold.”

“What?” Sota was confused now. “Oh no, cool… it's an expression. It means the same thing as nice, neat, awesome, and sweet as the Americans say. They got some funny ones over there like gnarly, or shibby. Oh, and kick ass!”

“Kick ass huh. Well thank you I think. Your Kagome's brother right.”

“Yep.”

“Kagome you didn't tell me he looked like Kohaku.” Said Sango

“He does doesn't he?” she replied, “I never realized. You think its possible he is his reincarnation? Nah, Kohaku is much smarter then Sota. Anyway let me finish. This is Miroku, Hachi, Kilala, Shippo, and… wait were is Meoga?” the little pest had vanished from Inuyasha's shoulder.

`Slurp'… `Slurp' “Ow!” `Smack!' “Eew. Nasty little bug.” Sota wiped his hand off on his shirt and the `nasty bug' fell on the ground.

“Sota meet Meoga.” She said waving at the flea.

“He's a bug?”

“I'm a flea demon you little Aackk!” he gagged as the boy stepped on him.

“Stop, Souta you'll kill him!” Said Hachi who was the only one that cared.

“News flash Cat dude. That's the point.” Sota paused to speak then continued his assault.

“Cat dude?” said an Insulted Hachi. “I'm a raccoon dog.”

“That's enough kid, leave the pest alone, he has his uses.” Said Inuyasha as he picked up Sota and carried him into the house.

Kagome pick up Meoga and ushered the rest into the house as well. “Don't try it with my mother or gramps and I'll keep Sota from trying to kill you again.”

“Thank you Kagome. I will restrain myself.”

“And you monk! You even think about touching my mother and I'll have Inuyasha rip off your arm and shove it down your throat. Got it?”

“Don't worry about him. Remember, he's currently out of order.” whispered Sango.

They entered the living room and Kagome introduced them to the rest of her family. When she got to Shippo, Kilala, and Hachi gramps jumped three feet in the air.

“Sota fetch my sutras! Take this demons!” he shouted as he through three pieces of paper at the trio. Each one cringed expecting something terrible. Nothing happened.

“First off gramps, you still don't have spiritual powers. Second their friends of mine.”

Mrs. Higurashi said hello to everyone before she really noticed Shippo. “Oh my goodness, he's so cute! He's tiny and those ears!” She snatched him off the top of Hachi's head before anyone had a chance to react “and a tail how precious!”

He finally escaped and jumped into Kagome arms. “Kagome help she's worse than you.”

“Gee thanks Shippo. Hey mom is it alright if they stay in the guest house for awhile we could all use a break from the past.”

“Absolutely they'll have to share beds we only have the two.” She led them outside and across the yard to the second hut and opened it with a key.

“This place is bigger than Keade's hut” said Sango as they entered the room. There were two beds at both ends of the room with at least six feet between them.

“You can store your weapons in the closet. Now a day its not normal to carry around large boomerangs and swords.” Sango gave Kagome her Hiraikotse and Inuyasha reluctantly gave her the Tetsiga with a lot of convincing from everyone.

“What about my staff?”

“Don't worry Miroku a lot of monks now a days carry staffs.” Replied Kagome's mom.

“Well here I don't think I'll need this anyway will I?” he said

“No I don't think so.” Said Kagome.
