Okay, well one question did pop up. I guess I'll answer all of your inquiries up here in the little… `AN' space.

Q: Is Sesshomaru going to be cold and cruel, or cold and curious?

A: Well, I've always seen Sesshomaru as a very cold person (duh). So it's obvious he's going to be cold. However, you notice him being very curious. This will also be one of his traits. As for cruel, this is only for those who disobey him, disrespect him…etc. In other words, there will not be much cruelty directed at Kagome.

Chapter 3: Iie, Koibito

*RECAP!*

Sesshomaru had a sudden epiphany. A realization. He would protect this miko, take her under his wing, and shield her from all evil. This girl was special, a woman that actually intrigued him mentally, physically, and emotionally.

She was Kagome. Not Kikyo…

Little did he know that this statement meant everything in the world to her…

Kagome looked up at the brooding Sesshomaru, while he was in solitude, thinking of god-knows-what, he started stroking her hair.

The Lord of the Western lands…a taiyoukai was stroking her hair. She was utterly unnerved. Maybe offering to help him restore his arm was stepping way past the boundaries of conduct for Sesshomaru. Now, he was probably concocting ways to kill her. Torturing her, eating her, raping her? Kagome was scared shitless, and it showed on her face.

Sesshomaru was jerked out of his thoughts as the scent of fear in the miko spiked. It made his blood boil. She had never been afraid of him before, even as he tried taking her life. Now, he had swore to himself that he would protect her, and she was scared. In a normal situation, he would have mentally kicked himself for actually trying to figure out the complicated mind of a human, but now he wanted to know more about this enigma. He sighed, and picked up the trembling girl.

Kagome was shocked beyond coherent thought. "S-Sesshomaru…" She gulped. "-sama…?" The taiyoukai was now cradling her against his chest, soothing her.

"Sesshomaru-sama, I'm a human. You don't want to be touching me, remember? I'm a filthy little ningen…What have you done with Sess-" She was silenced when a long slender finger pressed up against her lips. She flushed and looked up at Sesshomaru.

"Don't blush, you baka! This is Sesshomaru, he'll be disgusted with you!" Kagome didn't know when she started becoming attracted to the Western Lord…but then again, who could resist? She was thinking of Inuyasha while in the hot spring, recalling the many times where she would just watch as he rutted with the dead corpse of Kikyo. (AN: Can you say necrophilia? Haha…)

Kagome made a decision while soaking with Sango, she would leave Inuyasha with the jewel, and A) go back to her own time or B) find support and a family in the Sengoku Jidai. She had wanted to marry a man from the feudal era to escape from the worries in her own time, but knew she would have to say goodbye to her other family forever.

"Ji-chan…Souta-chan…" She tried to choke back a sob. "Mama…"

Sesshomaru raised a perfectly sculpted eyebrow at her. She had started crying again. He would get the information he needed out of this girl, and then return to his palace. Even though he told himself to protect her, he still blamed this change of attitude toward her on the mating season.

"Miko, why are you crying?" He asked softly.

"Because…I'm thinking about staying here…in the feudal era. You see…I'm from the future. Five hundred years to be exact, and once the jewel is completed, I'm going to leave it with Inuyasha and join a village where I can meet someone, marry, and have children. I'm crying because I'll have to say goodbye to my real family…"

Sesshomaru let this information soak in his head. If he showed emotion, his jaw would have dropped. Now he was even more curious about the strange little girl. This explained her weird and indecent clothing, her strange phrases that no one seemed to understand, and her knowledge of every subject imaginable. In the feudal era, women were not educated at all, but Kagome was bright and intelligent…even surprising Inuyasha.

"This Sesshomaru had no idea of your troubles. You are certainly very intriguing, for a human." She saw the last connotation coming, but accepted it. Sesshomaru was actually being…well, civil. She should enjoy it. "You are welcome to rest at my estate where I can learn more about you. Come. We'll grab your things and go to the Western Lands."

Now it was time for Kagome's jaw to drop. He was extending an invitation to his palace…his abode…domain, lair, keep! Kagome's head was literally spinning! "Why" was all she could ask herself. Why would he invite her, a human, and why would he be intrigued by her?!

Kagome fainted in the arms of Sesshomaru. He gently brushed away stray bangs that had her pretty face. He smiled lightly to himself at his prize. She didn't know it now, but soon enough, she would be his.

~~With Inuyasha~~

Inuyasha stirred. "Dammit…damn it all! If Sesshomaru hadn't come…I would have been with Kikyo…" "…Kikyo…" he whispered. She came into the clearing once Inuyasha awoke, should Sesshomaru return. She knelt by him and lightly ran her fingers through his hair. What a desperate little hanyou he was. She could sense his arousal ever since he saw her bending over a stream far in the woods. It was her ultimate pleasure to steal him away from her reincarnation. After all, he was rightfully hers-hers to play with whenever she wished it. (AN: pft…As you can probably tell, I hate Kikyo.)

Her cold lips curled into a smile as she straddled Inuyasha's semi-consious body, and leaned down to kiss him ever so softly.

Inuyasha moaned against her mouth. He was a sick little bastard…finding pleasure in the dead miko's cold caresses. He sat up and pinned her underneath him; he had healed significantly, so therefore, he was able to return her affections. He pinned her arms above her head with one hand, and teased her breasts with the other.

Kikyo looked up at him and smiled. "Mine…all mine…"

"That's right, Kikyo." Inuyasha replied.

~~Sango and Miroku~~

Miroku started to worry about the two girls at the hot springs. He knew of Sesshomaru and Inuyasha's fight, but didn't know where Kagome or Sango had went to. He decided to stay away from Inuyasha once he caught the sight of a soul stealer… He cursed Inuyasha and Kikyo.

"My friend…you know not of the consequences of your actions…" He whispered into the wind. He turned and started into the bushes to look for Sango. Looking at the destruction, he knew that a youkai had paid the two girls a visit. "Oh, Kami…"

Miroku ran to Sango, who was currently still naked, and bleeding onto the forest floor.

"H-houshi…turn away…I'm indecent right now." Sango's weak voice reached Miroku's ears. Not heeding her command, he knelt down next to her, and scooped her up into his arms. She had lost consiousness and needed medical attention.

"Dammit, where's Kagome?!" He growled. He couldn't stand to see Sango injured…she was so proud, brave, and strong…a beacon of hope and strength for the entire group, but to see her broken was unnerving.

He took her back to the hot springs and laid her down on his outer haori so that he could fully undress. He looked back at her seductive form, then quickly turned away. Now wasn't the time. He picked her back up and turned to go into the hot spring, when she awoke.

"M-Miroku!!" She made a movement to smack him, but he was a lot quicker than her when she was in this lucid state. She huffed, and tried to get out of his arms.

Miroku grabbed her shoulders and pushed her back into the hot spring, falling into it with her. Still holding her close to him, he tried to soothe her, and calm her.

"Sango-chan, I mean you no harm…" He began to get nervous as she became alert. "And…Ifoundyouinjuredso…I'mjusttryingtohelp!" He quickly spat his words out and waited for the oncoming smack. But it never came.

"Houshi-sama…A-…arigato." Sango conceded and let Miroku wash her cuts and wounds. Every time he would brush his fingers over her skin, she would stop breathing, blush, and look away. He tried his best to control himself, and was doing a damn good job of it, but when she moaned as he brushed up against the junction between her legs while washing the cut on her hip.

All control was lost as he grabbed her shoulders and pushed her up against a rock, mindful of her injuries. His lips descended upon hers and took advantage of her as she gasped in surprise. His tongue flicked over her own, and she was lost in the battle brewing between them. She definitely wasn't angry at him, because she had caused him to act…but she was definitely surprised.

She whimpered when he broke the kiss and helped her up, wrapping her up in his haori and putting on his own hakamas. He carried her back to camp in an awkward silence.

~~With Sesshomaru~~

Sesshomaru made his way back to the miko's makeshift camp so that he could grab her things while trying to avoid her friends. No doubt they would be looking for her soon, but he wanted to whisk her away to his palace before and trouble was stirred up.

However, he ran into a smug looking Inuyasha who was sitting in a tree overlooking the camp. He sighed inwardly. His little brother had healed, and by the smell of things, had rutted with the dead bitch. She was no doubt lying in some clearing nearby, getting dressed after their lovemaking. It disgusted him. He stopped thinking about Inuyasha and Kikyo when Inuyasha noticed Sesshomaru.

"Why, hello brother." said Inuyasha, as he jumped down from his perch. Jealousy was in his eyes as he looked from Kagome's sleeping face, and Sesshomaru's burning golden eyes. "What the fuck are you doing with Kagome? You don't like humans, give her to me." He stated.

"On the contrary, dear brother, this particular ningen has caught my interest entirely. Do not presume that you know what my intentions are." said Sesshomaru as he picked up Kagome's trademark yellow backpack. Kagome started to wake, but this went unnoticed by both brothers as they began a verbal duel.

"She's worthless to you, just give her back to me and leave. She's just a stupid human, alright?! You don't want her!" These words stung Kagome's ears and heart, but she stayed quiet so she could hear the rest of the argument and Sesshomaru's retaliation.

"She is not stupid, nor worthless. You wouldn't know, however, because you chose the dead bitch over a living, breathing creature."

"She's a fucking reincarnation! I have the real deal! Plus, I can fuck Kikyo whenever I want. When Kagome was in heat, I came on to her, but being the prude that she was, she fled and went back to her time." Inuyasha yelled at Sesshomaru, but realized his mistake. However, it was too late. "K-Kagome…"

"Osuwari!" She screamed at him.

"Kagome…please don't leave me…I don't know what I was say-" He was interrupted.

"IIE! …Koibito…" She said sarcastically.

With a shaky voice, Kagome proceeded with her own little speech. "Inuyasha. I hate you. I may have loved you, and was as loyal as a puppy when I stayed with you…but" she said through sniffles "You've gone too far…"

Sesshomaru watched as the miko gave Inuyasha a piece of her mind. He was inwardly impressed with her strength, but said strength was waning as she crumbled and submitted to her tears.

"I TRUSTED YOU! Now…NOW ALL YOU HAVE IS A WHORE!" Kagome finished and ran to retrieve her yellow backpack, leaving a stunned Sesshomaru, and an equally stunned Inuyasha.

"Come back here, you bitch! You're my shard detector…GET YOUR ASS BACK HERE!" Inuyasha yelled at the retreating form of the living miko.

Sesshomaru glared sadistically at Inuyasha and sent him flying into a tree before taking to the air to get Kagome.

He would never let anything happen to her again, he promised her silently as he tracked her down by the scent of her tears.

AN: Yaaay! I've turned out yet another chapter. I love my fans…truly!

-sama: formal, respective connotation to a name (Lord Sesshomaru >>>> Sesshomaru-sama)

Houshi: Monk (informal, kinda rude)

Taiyoukai: Youkai lord (referring to Sesshomaru most of the time)

Koibito: Lover (in context, Kagome uses this term sarcastically to express her hatred for Inuyasha)
