SixteenSesshoumaru felt the bloodlust clear from his mind, even as he felt the frail human body shiver from the cold despite his warmth. He became aware of the sounds of guards moving along the walls. His surging demon apparently had been enough to keep them from coming to this area of that battlements. Slowly, he let her slide to stand on her own, clawed hands adjusting clothing until both were covered. A blush covered her cheeks, but she met his eyes fully."You should not be out in this weather." he told her, lifting her into his arms once more. She leaned against him, content to let him carry her wherever he wanted to. "I know, " she whispered, "But I love storms." He stared straight ahead as he made his way to the warm chambers they shared, "It has always been so," he acknowledged, "I have not forgotten." No, she didn't suppose he had. So what would happen now? Surely, one act didn't erase the past. They couldn't simply shrug it aside. Too much distrust lay there, too much hurt. Blame lay on both sides, how DID one fix such a thing? She rubbed her cheek against his shoulder as she mulled over her problem.Sesshoumaru made his way into the steaming comfort of the bathing chamber. He set her down and divested her of the wet silk with a sharp swipe of his claws. He watched her sink into the water as he removed his own. She seemed preoccupied and he sniffed the air delicately, her scent still carried arousal and a touch of sadness. Was is possible that she regretted what they'd done? He felt his jaw tighten, he'd not let her retreat for conquered ground."Ayeka." he said softly and she turned those clear eyes to him. Her lower lips trembled and the scent of salt touched his nose. "Don't cry." His tone was more of a snap than he'd intended. Like Inuyasha and his father before them, he hated tears from women. He'd forbidden Rin to cry, not that she'd listened much. He'd ended up soaked from her tears on more than one occasion and afterward feeling so helpless he HAD to go kill something. Or beat Jaken.... whichever was easier.Ayeka knew that she had to hear the truths of the past, no matter that they frightened her. She sighed, "Sesshoumaru, I must know.... what happened when I left?" He let his eyes grow flat and steady, "I went on alone." he told her. She stiffened, "That isn't what I asked you." He sighed and moved toward her, she felt him curve his chest against her back, his hair, flowing silver tendrils in the water enveloped her."The word came shortly after we had...been married. Your village headman was appalled that father had gained so much power. That he had named a woman as a general and that a woman from his village had given her heart to a demon. The priest and he concocted a wild tale, of demonic possessions and nonsense like that. They mustered soldiers and men in secret and sent them to the dragons in the north. Ryukotsei, an old enemy of my father's was more than willing to strike an alliance. He would help them defeat us. The plan was most credible and likely would have worked in some aspects. Father was to be killed, you and I as well."Everyone in the village had to agree to the secrecy of it. Everyone one Ayeka, even your sister listed their name on the contract with the dragons. I was dispatched to destroy all those named, but many had fled already. Father mobilized and went after them. I slaughtered the village and all in it. An example of what treachery against me brings. Then I came to you, but you ran... right into the mirror that the dragon had once gifted my father."Ayeka fought to process all of what he had said. The cursed mirror. Yes, he'd mentioned the curse before. She wondered now what exactly it's effects were. "And the curse?" His arms tightened around her fractionally, "To bring sadness to the house of Inutaisho, though that was discovered later. It was part of the dragon's revenge that a portal open in the mirror. You were taken from me. The curse was that I would remember and you would forget, forget until it was time to battle.I saw you. In your lifetimes. Your men. The mirror would show me your greatest joys, your deepest sorrows and that was the full nature of the curse. I could see you but not have you, and you left the realm of humanity in it's truest form behind. The mirror also made it hard to reach you, only later when I had found the correct sequence of spells and events was I able to use it to come to you. Death came close to us more than once."His voice was calm, soft, devoid of emotion as was his nature, but she felt the slight tensing of his body. Bound as mates as they were the fate of one, could and most often did become that of the other as well. All her adventures, all her fights, the battlefields, one error could have cost her more than her life but his as well. As his could have hers. She felt guilt, for the times he would have seen her laughing gaily with some new love that was doomed before it began. The thought of Sesshoumaru with anyone made her stomach hurt. Granted, she'd not known him - but she imagined the rages of his possessive demon on those occasions."You thought you were in love when I came for you this time." he mused and she wondered for not the first time if he could read her thoughts, "You were ready to be another man's wife." The quiet words held pain... for both if them. She bowed her head, "Yes, I was. It didn't work out." she said lamely, not knowing what to say. He chuckled behind her, a mirthless sound. "Of course not. Your heart would not have been happy with them, any of them, they were never strong enough for you. Just as you were never satisfied with human men, they are lacking. demon make love with more than bodies, but souls as well, energy and power. You, Ayeka, were FATED to NEED a demon."Perhaps that was true. Even when she'd thought she was happy, there was SOMETHING missing. When they'd come together on the battlements, aching lust and throbbing desire.... it seemed that the pieces had fallen in place. The control she fought so hard to maintain had been stripped away in a blazing haze of golden eyes and silver haired sexuality."Aren't you angry?" she asked, wanting to kick herself for asking. He caught her hands in his, "Not any longer. I was, in the beginning. Before I knew what the curse meant. I wanted to punish you, but through the years I have seen that you do that quite often enough. Anger has no place between us, mine burned away years ago. leaving only ashes and embers."Anger had no place between them. It was a starting point. She laced her fingers between his, comparing the differences. So many. These hands had killed a village, these hands had touched her body, these hands tried to kill a boy, these hands comforted a girl. And behind these hands, so filled with contradiction and mystery was the man himself. So like his father, so unlike his father. Inutaisho had been a hard warrior. He'd commanded men easily. His mind keen, his humor engaging, his temper wrathful and his smile infectious. He'd had easy banter with his men, they followed because they loved him. He made a person feel WORTHY.Sesshoumaru also led easily. Men followed him at first because they feared him, and then because they saw clearly how brilliant he was. He did not need that friendly rapport with his soldiers. They served him and he protected them. He was not a WARM personality but he wasn't bad. Inutaisho had been a soldier, first and foremost, raised in the trenches. His son was a noble.A noble who had fallen in love with the girl general of his father and spent centuries alone because of it. "Tell me about Inuyasha." she said softly. Sesshoumaru nipped her shoulder as he cupped water over her arms. "You know how he came to be. Father fell in love with his mortal mother and died for it." he answered. Slowly, she turned in his arms. The simplest touch of his flesh made her ache."Why did you seek his death?" she asked, "You already ruled the west. He was not a threat to you." Her argument was reasonable. Sesshoumaru growled lightly, "I did not wish to rule then. I wanted to beat father and assume the position as he had. He and Izayoi were happy, as we did not have the chance to be, and Inuyasha is the enduring result of that love."She raised her eyes to him again, "And do you love me Sesshoumaru?" she asked, a breathless whisper, tensing for the answer she feared might come. He brushed his nose against hers, "Enough to destroy the barriers of time to reach you." She thought she might melt, "And what do we do now?"At this he nipped her lower lip, sucking the tender flesh between his teeth. "Now, we make the life that was stolen from us. We fight this battle, we triumph, and then you give me sons... or daughters." His last words little more than a purr against her lips. "And you will give me the lives of humans?" she asked. He sighed. Some things didn't change. "Ayeka I do not purposefully hunt them. If they act against me I will kill them. You have no cause to worry of such things anymore." he said gruffly. She stared at his chest while she nodded, the smooth, hard expanse of muscle, flesh and bone.Lightly, she trailed her fingertips in a line from his throat to his stomach, watching as the muscles there tightened. She trailed her hands over the magenta stripes that graced his hips. Sesshoumaru was content, for the moment, to allow her exploration of his person.Leaning in, she pressed a kiss to the center of his chest. Her sweet mouth nibbling it's way to his nipples and teasing them. He growled softly, as she flicked her tongue against him. Slowly, she backed him from the water and at the edge of the bath, she rained kisses of scorching heat across his damp stomach. He threaded his fingers through her hair, mesmerized by the deep flame of it against his flesh. She was working her way lower and he had a good idea of what she planned. Prepared though he felt himself to he, he still hissed loudly when she swirled her tongue over his head.He was hard and hot in her hand, a shaft of steel covered in velvet. The pulse of his rushing blood echoed beneath her fingertips as she grasped him. Already the crowning glory of his largeness was gleaming with his juices and her saliva. She licked along the shaft, coating him. She lapped at him, nipped at his, caressed him. He moaned softly as she took his length into her soft mouth. She sucked him hard, then softly, teasing the slit with the tip of her tongue. She caressed the base of him, working her hands back to cup the fleshy sacs behind, her nail teasing the ridge further back.Sesshoumaru fisted his hand in her hair, tilting her head back slightly so that he could see himself vanish between her lips. His eyes hooded and half closed fixated on the wet Ring that was bringing him pleasure. He was too large by far for her to easily accommodate but he'd encountered such issues before. His free hand dropped to her throat, lightly caressing it, even as he eased further into her. Her throat was relaxing around him, but he'd push no further than he was now. With each small thrust of his hips he contacted that back of her throat. It was enough. Her eyes gleamed with moisture, even as his hardness did. He let his eyes fall closed as he moved against her. She moaned, sending vibrations along his flesh. He felt the coil tighten, his body so near release. He wanted that badly, was nearing his peak.Ayeka could tell what was happening, his sac had tightened in her palm, the shaft grown impossibly hard. Sesshoumaru was trying to ease away, unsure of her reaction to his taste, but she had other plans. She dug her nails into the firm flesh of his ass and locked onto him with her mouth. A hard sucking motion that seemed to draw his seed from his body, along his length. He tightened his hand in her hair, his breath in pants now, his growls filling the air as he came. His seed erupting with enough force to hit the back of her throat, nearly choking her. She swallowed as much as she could, but there was too much and it dribbled from the corners of her mouth. She released him with a last, long suck. His body jerking, overly sensitized. He opened his eyes to see the gleaming wetness on her flesh. He smiled softly, and knelt before her. Dipping one hand into the water, he gently cleaned them away. Ayeka stared at him, that tender look as he did so.When he was finished, he stood lifting her with him. Leaning closer to her, he kissed her. A soft playing of tongues. He growled in a satisfied male way to catch his taste in her mouth, to know what she'd done. He purred as he broke the kiss, "Your turn wife."
