Chapter 1: My Thoughts, My Feelings
The sky was a dazzling mix of blues and purples as the day darkened to night. Kagome sighed heavily in thought as the winds picked up slightly, the spring night was warm. Her dark hair brushed the soft peach skin of her shoulders as the wind picked up her tresses. She didn’t wear her usual school uniform; instead she adorned a soft pink kimono with a dark pink obi. Her full lips were colored the same pink as her obi and her eye shadow as the same as her kimono. Kagome sat in the soft grass of the hill and her thoughts drifted to Inuyasha. She couldn’t help but voice her thoughts to the tranquil night. Kagome’s chocolate brown eyes glittered with the light of the stars
“Why won’t he say he loves me?”
In her mind she could see his warm golden eyes and felt her heart speed up. Kagome smiled as her heart warmed at the thoughts of the man she loved. She wanted Inuyasha to admit he loved her so bad, she knew it….everyone knew it. Yet he wouldn’t say it. She gave a pleading look to the sky as if wishing that it would tell her the answers she wanted. Kagome thought back to her conversation with Sango hours ago.
*Flashback*
Kaede had asked the girls for their help with picking vegetables and herbs for the festival dishes that were to be made for that night. The sun beat down on their bodies and they smiled at each other. When Kaede was out of ear shot Sango looked at Kagome through her bangs as she picked her handful of herbs.
“Kagome, I noticed you haven’t been as cheerful as usual. What’s the matter?”
Kagome looked startled for a moment before she looked Sango in the eyes and let a sigh of deep longing escape her lips. She shook her head as she thought how to say what she wanted.
“I love Inuyasha….I know he loves me so why doesn’t he tell me?”
Kagome’s tone was raw with unexpressed emotion.
“I don’t understand why, he can’t just say those words to me…The words I yearn for.”
Sango looked at her friend and smiled sadly. She was in her casual kimono, she pushed her hair back from her face and stood up straight again.
“Kagome…I don’t know really what to tell you. Inuyasha is stubborn.”
Sango grins mischievously and glances around quickly to make sure no one is around. Turning her attention back to Kagome she whispers.
“Why don’t you corner him? That should get it out of him!”
Kagome looked at Sango in surprise before giggling.
“That just may work! Thank you Sango!!”
Sango smiled happily and began to gather herbs again.
“No problem Kagome-chan! Now let’s get this all done.”
Kagome smiled and begins to gather the vegetables.
*Flash end*
Kagome smiled softly and got up from the grass carefully. Yes tonight she would make Inuyasha tell her. She just had to know, it was tearing her up inside. The festival candles were being lit and she ran towards the village. Tonight would be great…it just had to be.
