Chapter 22~The Battle!

~~~Kagome, Miroku, and Sango stood by the forest with thier backs to trees as Kyoto, Inuyasha and Sesshoumaru stood quietly on a tree branch watching what was going on. At first Kouga was there alone pacing back and forth, nervous and scared, the demon and half demons could smell it on him, then out of nowhere is seemed came a dark cloud. Then to thier eyes appeared Kagura on her feather and Naruku on his Miasma cloud, as well as Kanna who stood next to him with her Mirror looking deeply into it, although she showed no real emotional signs at all. In Narakus arms he held two little demons in his arms. It was easy to see that they were Kali and Kaze.......they looked soo much like Kouga and Kagura it was eery. Altough Kyoto and Inyasha wanted to rush Naraku, they were held back by Sesshoumarus voice.

"Dont be stupid you two...wait.........we must wait for our advantage." he said cooly. Inuyasha growled and Kyoto sighed know he was right.

~~~They watched as Kouga approached closer and sniffed the air. He was making sure that these two Naraku held were his pups. When he finished he whimpered soflty. They were his.

"You Know why I am here mutt." Naraku stated coldly.

"I know...give them to me and I will give you the shards." Kouga replied.

"As if...where are they wolf???" Naraku hissed, holding both brats by thier collars up in the air and dangling them above the ground. Kouga growled and tensed.

"They are here." He replied holding up his hand to show him the two shards he had in his hand, he had taken them out last night. Anything for his pups.

"You have done well wolf prince..." Naraku replied as he laughed that awfull cackle of his...

"Give me the shards and I will turn your brats over to you." Naraku stated.

"Give them to me and I will give your brats to YOU!" Naraku hissed not trusting Kouga.

~~~Before Kouga could utter one word he heard a growl, then heard a male yelp as he saw in bewilderment as his pups bit at his fingers, one each, the ones that held him. Before Naraku could react Kagura called out the wind blades from her fan and sent them to Naraku to slow his moves.

"You dare attack ME?? your MASTER?!" Naraku growled angerly. Kagura smirked.

"Yes..You should not have threatened my little ones Naraku..for a mothers bond is greater than her sires." she replied as she sent another one of her attacks at him. She barely registered he pups falling to the ground and Kouga catching them in his arms.

~~~She had taken that moment to smile smugly knowing that she had succeded in getting her pups out of harm. But her distraction cost her. As she looked at her young ones Naraku took that oppurtunity to send a tentacle into her chest. She screamed in pain and Kouga doubled over, feeling her pain. Just then to Naraku's surprise he saw the Inuyasha group as well as Sesshoumaru enter the clearing, battling Kanna and all the tentacles he sent out. At his last attempt he managed to grab hold of the female pups collar and bring her up to him as he dissappeared into a cloud of miasma. Kagaura layed at Kouga's feet dead and unmoving with blood dripping onto the ground.

~~~Kouga knelt down at his mates body and held her. No he did not love her. But he was her mate and felt her death deep in his soul. And she had given her life for thier pups. She had proved herself to him and thier young. For this he would ever be gratefull for. No one said a word as they watched Kouga hold Kagura's lifeless body. He wept silently, as they all watched, oblivious to them. then he felt his sons little paw on is shoulder.

"Daddy??...Mommy is gone..but we have to save Kali before the mean man kills her." he stated softly, silently. Kouga looked at his son and saw the grief in his eyes and the loss of his sister. He let Kagura down and looked toward the way Naraku had left.

"I will find you bastard and with my last breath I will make you pay for what you have done and get my daughter back as well!" Kouga shouted, although he didnt know how the hell he would accomplish such a feat. He had no Idea where to find Naraku. It was then he noticed the others.
