Chapter 27~The Rescue!

~~~Naraku cackled and enjoyed the cries and screams of the girl pup before him as he used a lighter energy whip to beat the child. It was not as powerfull as the one he had used on her mother Kagura but it was enough to cause her great pain, yet not kill her. Naraku still had use of the child and would not kill her yet, but when the time came he would get his shards and if nothing else kill this girl pup, who unnerved him to no end. Just as he delivered another blow to the child, causing her to cry out, the door to his quarters opened up. He turned to glare at the intrusion.

"Why do you dare interrupt me Kanna?" Naraku asked in a cold tone.

"I have been watching the wolf and his allies as you ordered Naraku." Kanna replied tonelessly.

"And?!" he growled impatiently.

"They know where we are and are coming..they will be here shortly."

"What?!!!!..How do they know?" Naraku snapped. How could they know where his castle was? It was well hidden and an energy field concealed it well. No one should of been able to find them.

"The half breed girl, the sister of Inuyasha and Sesshoumaru, she was able to find it by touching the mind of the boy pup." Kanna stated.

"What?!..but the boy does not know where this place is!"

"But the boy can feel his sisters pain, they are twins and thier bond is strong." Kanna explained.

"How long till they get here?" he asked. Just then there was a presence around them, and he knew, they were here already.

~~~Kyoto had yelled at them all to stop at what seemed like a small clearing surrounded by tall trees and brush. They were all confussed but guiltly, enjoyed the breather. Everyone was out of breath, they had speed off faster than they had ever before, pushing themselves to keep up with Kouga and Sesshoumaru, who held Kyoto in his arms. Kouga growled.

"What the hell are we stopping for?? the bastard is hurting my pup!" he snapped angerly. The few men he had wanted to bring with him had been left behind after all, considering that they couldnt move as fast as they could, so it was just them now.

"We are here." Kyoto said breathlessly, the link was tiring her, for as long as she was linked to the child Kali, Kyoto could feel her pain and her fear. It was draining.

"What?? There is nothing here wench!" Kouga shouted, earning a growl from Inuyasha and Sesshoumaru, who took offense to his words against thier sister. Miroku too had tried to growl, but his human throat could not do it justice.

"The castle is here..its behind an energy field..concealed, but here." Kyoto replied, breaking the link with the child now that they were here. She slumped into her eldest brothers chest in exhaustion. Reflectivly he gripped her to him tighter, offering his sister comfort, which did not go unnoticed by Kyoto, who smiled softly.

"I dont see any castle Kyoto..are you surrrrrr...." came Inuyasha as he walked straight ahead, only to be cut off when he walked right into the invisable barrier, which sent a jolt to his body and threw him across the clearing. Kagome ran to him and looked him over.

"Im fine!" he growled, his pride hurt more than anything else. Kagome just rolled her eyes and left him to go back to the others.

"How are we supposed to break threw it?" Sango asked.

"I can break it." Kagome stated, already notching her arrow and taking aim at the invisable barrier. She could feel the energy of the barrier and concentrated all her powers into the arrow. Then she let it fly.

~~~The arrow flew and when it hit the barrier, the barrier showed as it began to get purified by Kagome's arrow. When it began to crumble, the saw Naraku's castle begin to appear right before thier eyes. Inuyasha, Kagome, Miroku and Sango all looked at the castle and made a sour face.

"What?" Kouga asked.

"Nothing." Kagome replied for them, as they all looked rather embarrased. It was just that when they saw the castle, it looked like every other castle Naraku had ever used, every castle they had come across, exactly the same and totally fake. Nothing good had ever happened to them when ever they came across one of his castles. But this time was different they hoped.

~~~Taking a breath and following a very agitated wolf demon, they rushed the courtyard and were soon confronted by a hord of demons. All were not doubt sent by Naraku to keep them back and away. But so far Naraku himself nor Kanna had shown up. This worried them. The demons were no doubt a stalling tactic to keep them occupied while he planned something or tried to escape. They couldnt let them escape, not with Kali.

~~~Kagome watched as Inuyasha, Sesshoumaru, Sango, Kouga and Kyoto battledd the many demons around them. Miroku too fended off the demons with his staff, but not having the demon powers the others had or the training of demon exterminator that Sango had, he and Kagome could only do very little in the battle. So grabbing Miroku's sleeve, she pulled her along with her towards the castle. Knowing what she wanted and what she intended to do Miroku followed, batting every demon that came thier way out of the way. Soon they entered the castle and began to look from room to room.

"Lady Kagome can you sense the shards Naraku holds?" Miroku asked.

"Yes..this way." she replied as she ran down one hall way then another.

~~~Soon the burst into a room and came face to face with Kanna and Naraku, clad in his baboon pelt. Scanning the room they saw Kali unconscience in the corner, tied to a wall, blood in crimson streaks upon her small body where she had been whipped with the energy lash Naraku had used on her. This enraged Kagome and Miroku like nothing ever had. To harm and abuse a child was beyond cruel, beyond evil, it was unforgivable.

"You bastard Naraku!" Kagome hissed in hatred of the creature before her, as she redied an arrow to shoot at him.

"Stupid wentch, do you honestly think that you two human can harm me?" came Naraku's voice followed by his signature cackled laughter. Kagome fired her arrow, but Kanna had used that moment to place herself between herself and her master. The arrow hit Kanna's Mirror and was slowly absorbed into it, setting free souls Kanna had collected.

~~~Before anyone could counter another attack or utter another word Kouga burst into the room with a tornado of wind in his wake. He had seen Kagome and the monk enter the castle and knew they were going to go search for his pup and Naraku. He would not let Naraku escape, and he knew they would need help to defeat him. So Kouga had taken the first chance he could to escape the fighting from the couryard to follow Kagome and the monk. When he got to the room he saw Kanna absorb Kagome's arrow and Naraku stood behind the pale child like demon. He then saw his pup, chained to the wall, bleeding, beaten and unmoving. Something in Kouga snapped.

"Get my pup out of here Kagome!..NOW!" he growled. Already they cold see the red that seeped into Kouga's eyes and his voice was deeper than normal. He was changing into his demon form.

~~~Scared and worried for themselves and for Kouga's pup, Kagome and Miroku went to the small wolf demon child and unbound her and carried her out of the room. When Kouga was sure that his daughter was out of the room and that his friends were gone as well, he let the last shred of control he had left go. His body began to transform. His face stretched and grew still he no longer resemble the human form he usually wore and now had the face of a true wolf. A snout grew, his eyes bleed red, his hands grew into large paws and his body began to bristle with dark fur. The for Kouga everything but the need to kill emptied his mind and everything went black.

~~~Back in the courtyard, the last of the demons were being slaughtered when Kagome and Miroku came out of the castle. The small wolf pup cradled gently and lovingly in Kagome's arms.

"Kagome?? Wheres Kouga?" Inuyasha asked going to Kagome. Just then the castle begain to crumble and they heard loud howls and terrifing growls.

"We have to get out of here..Kouga transformed into his demon form..we have to go." Kagome stated as she began to run out of the courtyard away from the castle. They all knew that a Kouga in his true wolf demon form was a dangerous Kouga. He never used that form, unless he was giving no choice otherwise. He didnt use it because in that form he could not control his wolf demon instincts, the need to kill, and in that form, not only enemy but friend was also but in danger of his lust for blood.

~~~Inuyasha grabbed Kagome who still held the pup and took off with her into the forest. Without thought Sesshoumaru grabbed Sango and sped off towards the direction Inuyasha had taken his mate and the pup. Miroku climbed ontop of Kirara as Kyoto used her own demon strength to run out of the castle along side her mate. After they had gotten some distance from the castle they looked down from a hill at the castle below them. They heard howls and watched the castle crumble. They in facination and horror they watched at Kouga in his true form appeared out of the ruins with several of Naraku's tentecles in his mouth. Kouga was huge, not as big as Sesshoumaru's true demon form, but close to it. And he was fierce. He shook the tentacle in his mouth like raggs as he tore them from Naraku's body. They heard Naraku wail out in agony. But Kouga was not unscathed. His wolf body had several areas on him that bled from blows delivered by Naraku.

"Naraku managed to get Kouga's shards." came Kagome's gasp. They all looked towards Kouga's hind quarters and saw the huge gouges in his legs where the shard had been replaced last night. They were not there.

"So the bastard got what he wanted." Inuyasha growled, feeling the urge to go down there and kill Naraku and claim the shards. But even he knew better than to go down there. Till Kouga returned to his normal form, they had to stay away from him.

As the battle raged, Kagome and Kyoto tended to Kali's wounds as best as they could and soon she was all clean and wounds wrapped. They watched more as Kouga continued to fight Naraku, till seeing that he could not win Naraku used the remainder of his body and energy and dissappeared in a cloud of Miasma. Kouga howled in rage, parts of Naraku's bloody tentacles still in his mouth and on the floor in pieces at his feet. Kouga howled his anger and the lose of his prey. He began to sniff the air and soon his red eyes locked with those of the group far up on the hill. He began to run towards them with saliva dripping from his pulled back lips and blood crusted fangs.

"Aww shit!" Inuyasha cursed as he began to unseath Tetsaiga. he didnt want to kill wolf boy but he would do it to protect his mate and his friends. Just then they heard a small weak voice.

"Daddy?? Daddy stop!" came the small voice. The voice stopped Kouga in mid pounce. They all looked down to see Kali who was awake and still in Kagome's loving embrace. She looked at the large wolf and smiled.

"Im safe daddy..its time to change back..your scaring us." she said in a child like voice that was both sweet and fearfull at the same time. Kouga the wolf shook his head and snarled, his demon self and his wolf self trying to fight one another for dominance.

"Please daddy?? I want to go home...I want to be with you and Kaze." Kali pleaded with tears in her eyes. He little body began to shake in Kagome's arms. This must of been what it took to snap Kouga back to his normal self, because he began to tremple and shake and then howl as his form began to change and grow smaller. Soon Kouga in his more human guise lay not far from them bloody and breathless.

"My..my pup..bring..bring her to me please Kagome?" Kouga rasped, as he lay to weak to move but held out his hand in desperate need to hold his child in his arms, he needed to feel her, hold her and assure his mind that she was truelly safe.

~~~Kagome went to Kouga and placed his daughter in his arms. Kali did not hesitate to wrap her tiny arms around her father and cuddled into his large chest as she cried. Kouga held her close to his body and wrapped his entire self around her, holding her, comforting her as he licked the scratches and wounds he could get to under all those bandages, part of him still raging at what Naraku had dared to do to his pup. But she was safe now, with him in his arms. And no one would ever hurt his again. He would make sure of it.

"Lets go home little one." he whispered.

"Yes please daddy." she cried into his chest as Kouga got up with his daughter in his arms. Kouga was injured and hurt but that did not stop him from carrying his daughter down the hill, headed for home and her brother.

A/N~Okies heres the next chap and pretty much the end...but......there will be one more, the epilogue so to speak to tie up some loose ends for yall..lol..soo what did ya think?? I know it could of been better, but for some reason I was having trouble with this chap..dont know why..and I know..Naraku didnt die, but he was not supposed to here, the goal was to get Kali. Anyhow how you guys like this, please please let me know what you think of it, since i have my doubts..and the next chap will be the last, the Aftermath of Aftermath..lol..it will tied up all the loose ends as best as I can..soo till then please be safe well and happy...with much huggs and smiles Mija..:-)
