A/N~Okies guys this is the last chap..lol..been a long story, never intended it to be soo long, but I have to say I loved writing it and loved the reviews and positive feedback, it does my heart good to know you all actually liked this story..:-) Now this is the last chapter everyone and I will try to tie up any loose ends from 3 days of hell and Aftermath. To Kyoto thank you soo much for the use of your charactor, she really helped my story go along smoothly and to Raven who beta-ed for me I give you much much thanks as well, although I know I did not use you for these last chaps, which I am sorry for, but I thank you for all your hard work and your wonderfull help..:-) ok hope this closing chap answers things and ends AfterMath with everyone satisfied..huggs Mija..:-)

Chapter 28~AfterMath!

>Modern Day Japan<

~~~Kyoto and Miroku sat at a near by tree and watched as Kagome ran from her house to the well and back to fuedal Japan. As soon as she had dissappeared down the well both Miroku and Kyoto snuck to the well house and sealed it off with magic sutra's to keep Kagome from coming back. The sutra's would vanish and the spell broken once the three days were over. Then as quickly as possible they left the well and the shrine towards home. Once there they were met with Sango and Sesshoumaru.

"Is it done?" Sesshoumaru asked with his cool tone, but it was offset by the hug he gave Sango as he pulled her into his embrace, bringing her back against his chest. Sango layed her head against him and sighed. After all these years and much fighting it, Sango had fallen in love with the Demon Lord, and he her.

"Yes brother its done..the spell will fade on its own in 3 days." replied Kyoto as she sat on the huge leather couch in the mansion's den. They all shared the mansion, which had a crap load of rooms to keep all the occupants happy. They had once thought of diffrent houses for them all, but the fact of the matter was, they had gotten so used to being around one another, it was hard to break that habit. At the moment only Sango, Sesshoumaru and Kyoto and Miroku were at the Tokyo home. They had several all over the world.

"When will Kagome and Inuyasha return?" Sango asked.

"Not for a few years..about 3 to be exact." Kyoto replied.

"Till after the last time she goes threw the well to battle Naraku and never returns right?" Sango replied. She had known Kagome's wishes about being in Japan while her other self was still here, she didnt want to risk running into herself or her family or friends in this time, so she had opted to stay away from Japan till the day after the battle with Naraku.

~~~Right now, this times Kagome was barely going into her becoming heat and they had sealed the well to make sure she would not come back threw the well. They had all wondered who had done it the first time, and with the help of Kyoto, Kali and Kaze, and Miroku they had managed to find out what they needed to know. With Kali's strong powers of the mind, boosted by her brothers presence, and the help of Kyotos own and Mirokus Monk abilities, they had been able to punch a hole into time and see what had occured the first time around, watched as Kagome and her family had died as well as Sango and Miroku and Inuyasha. They had watched as a now older and much more tired and unhappy Shippo had placed the seals on the well with Myoga's help to keep things from occuring in his time, to stop Kagome from coming home during her heat and thus stopping all those deaths from occuring. When they had finished with the visions and had broken apart, they had all sat there crying thier eyes out. Shippo had sacraficed all he knew and his own life to see that those he loved had had a second chance for life.

~~~That was when Kyoto and Miroku knew that they would need to make sure the seals were placed as well, taking the path Shippo had in another lifetime. Everyone had decided that it was best that Kagome, Inuyasha and Shippo never knew of what had taken place in thier other lifes. This was hard for Kali to take, because she and Shippo were mates now, much to Kouga's unhappiness at first. But Kali had promised not to tell him, she didnt want to make him picture things that would cause him harm, and the sight of him old and tired before his time as he had lost everyone dear to him, was enough to break her own heart.

Plus no one wanted the past they knew, to be erased. If it was then Kyoto would never have become mates with Miroku, nor would Sango and Sesshoumaru have gotten together, let alone Kagome and Inuyasha. Then there was the fact that Kali and Kaze would of never have been born.

~~~They had all agreed that one pair or another would always stay in the Tokyo home to keep this times Kagome safe, thus insuring the events as they knew to have already happened, to occur. They had been surprised to learn that several demons indeed still lived in the modern times as they had in the fuedal era, although not as many, but all much wiser, disguising themselves so that they could mingle with humans. That Kagome had never sensed any on her trips home never surprised anyone for they knew now, that it had been them all along that kept demons from her and the shards she had. There had been several times that one of them or the other had fought a demon, who had been stalking the still young Kagome from this time. Thus keeping thier friend, thier family from being hurt and making sure events occured as they knew them now.

"Where is Inuyasha and Kagome now?" asked Miroku, talking about the Inuyasha and Kagome that were mated and had lived for almost five hundred years as they all had. When Inuyasha had said that they were bonded to thier mates by body and soul, he had not been kidding. Sango and Miroku had learned that they had recieved some of thier mates powers upon thier mating, not demons powers but the power to heal and age slowly, so that they could age with thier mates. Although they looked older, they didnt look much older from the time they had all met. They were still young and now over 400 years wiser.

"They are in South America..The Amazon to be correct." Sesshoumaru replied with a sigh. They all knew how he felt. For some reason Kagome and Inuyasha couldnt help themselves. They had gotten so used to traveling and adventure that they still sought it out when ever they could.

"Whats there?" Kyoto asked.

"Inuyasha found out that the majority of the Amazon jungle has yet to be explored by man and no one knows of what truelly lies in its interior." Sesshoumaru replied.

"Ahhh..so he thought he would be the first to go in and find out what is what in the jungle huh?" Miroku grinned. Leave it to Inuyasha to look for danger and adventure, not that Kagome was any better, she loved going with Inuyasha on one of his quests.

"Sadly yes, but as he puts it, there are still demons out there in the world, and he likes to know where most of them are and if they are something we all need to worry about, so he decided to find out if any demons lived in the jungle..if they do he will either kill them if they are evil or leave them be if they only wish to be left alone and no harm to anyone." Sesshoumaru replied with a snort. His brother was arrogant and cocky, but he was strong and good hearted, Sesshoumaru admired and respected him alot.

"So did they take Suicchi with them?" Miroku asked, speaking of Kagome and Inuyasha's son, who was in demon years 300 but in human years only in 18.

"No Suicchi is at college still...he will be returning here when his spring break comes around." Sesshoumaru replied, smiling at the thought of his nephew, funny but Suicchi looked a whole lot like him and acted more like his uncle than his father, but he had his mothers wonderfully big heart and thirst for knowledge.

"Will Shippo and Kali be coming then as well? We all know how close Shippo and Suicchi are." Kyoto asked, thinking of both her nephews, Shippo had been officially adopted by Kagome and Inuyasha long ago and he was thier son and Suicchi's older brother.

"No they are going to visit Kouga and Ayama in France this spring." Sango replied. It was still amazing how Kouga and Ayama had fallen in love and mated. Ayama was and is a wonderfull mother to the twins whom she adopted as her own, although they had children together they were younger and the twins would always be thier eldest children.

"Is Kaze and Minna still in the country side?" Sango asked. Minna was a she wolf demon that Kaze had fallen in love with and mated with as well. They usually stayed in the country to watch over the few who still lived from Kouga's original pack, those who wished to live away from humans and stay on the mountain that Kouga had purchased long ago by human law, even if it was already his by demon law.

"Yes, they plan to visit Kouga and Ayama as well come spring..Ayama's pregnant again." Came Kyotos reply. She smiled at them and they all smiled in return.

"Our family grows." Sesshoumaru replied with a smirk of his own.

"Yes it does..speaking of which I think Kaede is awake." Sango replied, freeing her hold from her mates arms to go check on their 2 year old daughter.

"So where is Kohaku?" Sesshoumaru asked Miroku and Kyoto, inquiring about his other nephew, whom he adored, even if he was a lech as his father had once been.

"Hes at the monestary still." Miroku replied. He smiled thinking of his and Kyoto son. He was 21 in human years and took after his father alot. They had named him after Sangos brother as Sango had named thier girl after Kaede. Children to carry on the memories and to honor those they had lost.

~~~At the battle with Naraku Kohaku did not survive the taking of his shard, and although Sesshoumaru had tried to bring him back with Tensiaga, he had not been able to, Kohaku had been dead a long time and was only a puppet of Naraku's at the time. It was still amazing how Naraku had been defeated. Of all the people who had had a grudge against Naraku and vowed to be the one to rid the earth of him, it had been Kouga's twins that had actually defeated him. They had been only 4 years old at the time, but had been much more mature than they actually were due to Naraku's meddling in thier births. As the others had battled fiercly with all the demons that Naraku had summoned for the finale battle, the twins, who had been told to stay at the den, had surprised them all by disobeying thier father for the first time. They had shown up in the middle of the battle, and they had all watched stunned as the two little ones had stood in front of Naraku glaring daggers at him.

"You will pay for our mothers death." They had said in unison. Then to all of thier shock as well as Naraku's, who had long ago believed that the twins would be the end of him had they survived, which they had. The twins, who were protected by an energy shield that Kali had put up around them, doled out thier punishment to Naraku. Kaze had used his wind powers to cut the jewel from Naraku's neck and then concentrated a much stronger ball of wind directly at him, which was like a cannon ball being shot at his chest. After the hole had been open, Kali had used her mind to summon the demons Naraku used to form himself and free them from him, then the last spirit to be called out had been Onigumo's. Without these spirits and demons to keep him together, Naraku had ceased to exist, he had dissappeared in a burst of ashes and light.

~~~Everyone had still been in shock when this happened, that they hadnt noticed at first, the now very dark an jealous creature that had once been Kikyo enter the clearing, headed straight for the jewel. She had always vowed to kill Kagome, and knowing this Inuyasha had sprung just in time to snatch the jewel before Kikyo could. Hissing, but not saying a word, Kikyo had watched as Inuyasha had taken the jewel to Kagome.

"Purify this and keep your promise Kagome.." he had said, to everyones concern. They knew what he meant, Kagome had always promised to give Inuyasha the jewel to make his wish when it was compleate. Biting her lip and trying hard not to cry, unsure of what Inuyasha intended to do, Kagome took the jewel and purified it from Naraku's evil. Once done she handed the jewel back to Inuyasha and looked at him.

"I love you Inuyasha." she whispered, fearing that this was the last day she would be with him.

"And I love you Mate..always and forever." Inuyasha had replied, taking the jewel in his hands, then looking at Kikyo.

"I made two promises to you Kikyo...I promised to kill you if you ever tried to kill Kagome..and the other, to set you free and put you to rest." he said as he closed his eyes and made his wish. Kikyo screamed, knowing this did not bode well for her.

"My wish....is for Kikyo to rest in peace once and for all, and for any sins she has commited since being bought back to life, be erased and forgotten so that she may rest in the heavens as she was once before." Inuyasha wished. And the jewel glowed, and soon they saw the glow from the jewel surround Kikyo's clay body and run threw her. Before Kikyo had finally dissappeared she smiled down at Inuyasha and Kagome.

"Thank you Inuyasha..I am at peace now...Take good care of him Kagome..he deserves your love." she replied as she faded and was nothing more. The Jewel as well vanishing. Kagome had ran into Inuyasha's arms crying. She had expected the worst and Inuyasha knew it.

"I told you a long time ago Kagome..I love you..only you..and no one else..you are my mate..my heart..my soul..always and forever." he whispered into her ear as he held her tight to him.

~~It had been a hard struggle for them all, but eventually they had all gotten over what ever diffrences they had, Kyoto and Inuyasha became closer to thier brother Sesshoumaru, as Sango and Sesshoumaru worked out thier own problems and finally admitted to thier love for one another. They had all changed soo much over the centuries, but one thing was still the same. They loved one another, they were all family and they would protect and die for one another if need be. They were a pack, a group, friends, family and lovers. All because of a girl from the future who had freed a demon, broke a sacred jewel, went on a quest to fix the jewel and befriended them. Kagome had bought them all together, she was their anchor, Inuyasha thier strength when all looked bleak and hopeless. And to think it was Kagome's heat that had bought them thier true loves and bonded thier family all the more. Those three days of hell had actually turned out to be more like the beginings of thier true destinies.

A/N~Okies heres the last and final chap..ok ok dont shoot me I know it was sappy and all but give me a little break k?? I tried my best..I hope this chap cleared up any questions you might of had regarding certain things. And nope have not seen alot of the Inuyasha series so I dont know if I made any errors on things or such, Im still watching the darn show lol and its like in what?? the 40th episode maybe?? lol..soo I still have much to learn..anyhow this is it..hope it does not dissappoint and I would love to get some feed back, good or bad about this final chapter.
