A/N: This is just a two part five chapter story I have posted on another site and am putting up here, so it will not effect Unfettered's progress in any way. Again this is already complete and I will be posting it as I have the free time to do so.
There is a LEMON in this chapter...
As always I would really like to know what you think...
Disclaimer: I do not own InuYasha or any of its characters and will make no money off this story.
“Are you going to see her?” She asked trying to keep the pain out of her voice. She fought back her tears as she waited for his answer.
InuYasha knew she was trying not to cry. “No.”
“Why not?” Kagome asked.
“Because we have nothing to say to each other.” he told her. “It wouldn’t do any good to try and talk to her again. She doesn’t care. She isn’t the woman I once knew.”
There was a profound sadness in his tone that told her there was more that he wasn’t saying. She moved to stand beside him and leaned her head against his shoulder. “What doesn’t she care about?”
“That I don’t….” he cut himself off. Don’t do it. You’ll only hurt her more when you leave. “Never mind. You should be inside so you don’t get sick, pathetic human.”
She was far too used to the tactics he used to push her away to be affected by them now. “I would rather stay with you. I want to be with you always.”
“Damn you!” He yelled suddenly.
Kagome stepped back and tears filled her eyes, spilling over. “I… I’m sorry.” she whispered. “I didn’t mean to upset you. I’ll go back inside.” She turned away.
InuYasha reached out and grabbed her arm. She gasped as he pulled her to his chest and held her there. “I wasn’t yelling at you.”
She looked up at him. There were so many conflicting emotions flashing across his face, and the look in his eyes was so unfamiliar. It was like he trying to look into her soul, and she had never desired him more. She couldn’t breathe as he lowered his lips to hers. He kissed her; It was forceful and demanding, as if he was trying to possess her body and spirit though his kiss alone, and she submitted to him completely, willing him to understand that the things he desired had been his for the taking all along.
Abruptly as it had began he pushed her away. “Fuck. I can’t…Damn it. I can’t do this… I’m sorry.”
Kagome could only watch as he took off into the woods.
She couldn’t go back into the hut, not after what happened. They would see her tears and demand to know what had upset her. She held a hand to her lips. He had kissed her. He wanted her. She knew it with as much certainty as she knew that she wanted him. Then why. Why did he run of like that? He was kissing me, me not her. I know he was. When he left he looked so sad. I wish he would just talk to me. She made a decision. If InuYasha won’t talk to me them maybe she will. Kagome grabbed her bow and arrows from beside the door and headed of in the direction of the soul gatherers.
InuYasha had to get away from her. He had gotten her message loud and clear. She wanted him as badly as he wanted her. He went to the Goshinboku and jumped onto his favorite branch. Baka, how could you do that. You’re hurting her. Fuck, what can I do? I would give anything to be with her, but I can’t go back on my word. He looked up at the soul gatherers and considered his options. I will try again to talk to her. I can’t just give up. Kagome is worth it, whatever it takes. InuYasha jumped down and went to find the un-dead miko.
Kagome found Kikyou, surrounded by the eerie light of the youkai that sustained her. The resurrected miko did not turn at her approach. “Did he send you to try and persuade me, to convince me that I should let him live?” Kikyou asked. “Or perhaps you came to kill me because I will not release him from his vow.”
“InuYasha doesn’t know I came.” She replied. “I was hoping you would talk to me. He won’t tell me what happened between you two to make him think you are no longer the woman he knew.”
InuYasha stopped abruptly when he saw not only Kikyou, but Kagome as well. They were talking. He waited and listened to see what would be said. He moved around through the trees so that he could be closer to Kagome incase he needed to protect her.
Kikyou laughed coldly. “So honorable, for a tainted half breed.” she taunted.
“He’s not tainted.” Kagome said fiercely. “He’s the bravest, most honorable person I know. He’s perfect exactly the way his is. Your problem is that you see him as what his is, a hanyou. I see him as who is, just InuYasha.”
Kikyou spun to face her. “So he told you then?” she asked. “I did not think he would.”
“Told me what?” Kagome replied.
“Would you have me believe that you love him as a vile, tainted half demon, even though his heart belongs to me, that you love him knowing he will never see you as anything but a copy, a cheap replacement?” Kikyou asked.
Kagome lifted her chin and looked directly into the other woman’s eyes. “Yes.” She stated simply, honestly. “Will you tell me?”
“Why not ask him again yourself? He has been watching us for quite some time, but you a weak imitation would not know that just as you do not know how to control your powers.” Kikyou said. “Well InuYasha, will you join us?”
InuYasha could not believe all the things he had heard, especially that Kagome loved him. He had known she cared for him and wanted to be with him but to hear the words was something entirely different. He jumped down from his place in the trees and joined them in the small clearing.
“What will you tell her InuYasha?” Kikyou asked.
“I asked Kikyou to let me out of my vow and she refused.” he told Kagome. “That is why we have nothing else to say to each other.”
“Why don’t you tell her the rest InuYasha?” Kikyou asked. “Are you afraid she will know that it is not the truth?”
“Kikyou.” He warned.
Kikyou laughed. “What your precious hanyou does not wish me to tell you is that he claims to want to live because he wants to be with you. As if you a pathetic copy could ever take my place with him.”
Kagome couldn’t believe what she was hearing. She looked to InuYasha but his head was lowered, bangs shading his eyes. He asked her to let him live, so we could be together. He was yelling at her earlier and he was sorry for kissing me because she refused to let him go. He didn’t want me to be hurt when he left with her. Kagome reached out to him and put a hand on his shoulder. “Oh, InuYasha.”
At the sound of her voice he turned slightly and their eyes met. “Kagome I…”
She shook her head. “I don’t care.” she told him. “I don’t care that you’ll only be leaving with her once Naraku is defeated. I want to be with you, for however long we have left. That is…If…If you want to be with me too.”
She can’t mean that. InuYasha stared at her with disbelief clearly written across his face.
“How touching.” Kikyou interrupted. “If allowing yourself to defiled by a dirty hanyou who will be pretending that he is with me is what you wish to do it is none of my concern, but make no mistake I will take him with me to hell.” Kikyou called to her gatherers and they carried her away.
“I don’t see you as her.” InuYasha said quietly.
“Is what she said true?” Kagome asked. “Did you ask her to let you live because you want to stay with me?” He nodded. Kagome started to cry and threw herself against him. “Then be with me InuYasha, please.”
“I can’t. I can’t do that to you.” he said. “I won’t, not to leave you in the end.”
“Don’t you understand? I’d rather have spent one day knowing that you were mine than spend the rest of my life never having been able to say that.” she whispered. “Please, I love you. Give me the memories that will carry me through once you are gone.”
He looked at her, his resistance waning with her soft pleading. She was begging to be with him, him a hanyou with nothing to offer her, not even a promise to stay by her side. He knew he should be firm but he wanted her more than he had ever wanted anything in his life. She leaned up on her toes and pressed her mouth to his and his resolve crumbled under the gentle pressure of her lips.
After a long moment she pulled away. It wasn’t enough, not nearly enough to kiss him. She reached for the tie of his haori and tugged it open. He grabbed her hands. “Kagome…”
She looked at the ground between them. “I want… I want you to be my first. I want to lay with you at night and wake up beside you in the morning. I want you… Do you not want me?”
He raised her head with his hand. “I do, but first you have to know I can’t give you all of myself.”
“Why, what do you mean?” she asked.
“When we’re together I’m supposed to let my youki bind our souls together in this life and beyond, making you my mate, but if I did when I die, you would as well.” He told her. “I won’t do that to you.”
“I’ll take whatever you can give me.” She said. “Just tell me… If you weren’t leaving… would you want that with me?” He nodded. She put a hand to his face. “It’s enough for me to know that if things were different you’d want to be with me always. I still want to be with you.”
She untucked his haori and he shrugged it off. He spread it out on the ground. She moved on to his undershirt and he watched as her small hands tugged it free. He reached out to her and grabbed the hem of her shirt watching her face for any sign the he shouldn’t, but she instead raised her arms to accommodate him. Since she had been dressed for bed her chest was now bare to him. She blushed but refused to cover herself.
He raised his hand to her breast, but stopped before touching her. She looked at him and saw the uncertainty in his gaze. “InuYasha, I trust all of you with all of me.“ She said gently. She put her hand around his own and pulled it against her. She brought her hand up behind his head and pulled him down into a kiss. She felt his tongue brush against her lips and she parted them. As he moved to kiss her neck she reached down between them and pulled at the ties of his hakama until it came free.
He stepped back and she pushed them off of his hips. Before daring to look at him she removed the bottom of her pajamas and her panties as well. She began to feel self conscious as she stood before him completely bare. What if he doesn’t like what he sees?
“Kagome.” he said gently. He could smell her anxiety but didn’t know the cause. She raised her head and he stepped closer. “We don’t have to do this now. I ain’t leaving tomorrow.”
“I want to.” she replied, wrapping her arms around him. “I don’t know how to take that off.”
InuYasha realized she was referring to his fundoshi. He took a small step back and removed his last covering. Kagome couldn’t help but stare. He was perfect. There was not a mark on his sleek toned body save a single scar just over his heart.
“You’re beautiful.” She whispered, not even aware that she had spoken a loud. She reached out and ran a hand along the lines of his chest. He shivered under her soft touch.
“I’m not the one who’s beautiful.” he said.
She looked up suddenly and realized what he had said. She smiled as a blush crept over her cheeks. She sat down on his haori and reached out for his hand. She pulled him down beside her. Kagome laid back and pulled him down with her. “Touch me InuYasha.”
His eyes never let her face as he ran a hand along her side until he cupped her breast in his hand. He squeezed gently and heard Kagome moan softly. Her eyes were dark but her love was reflected clearly from within. Her aroused scent emboldened him and he began to kiss and nip softly at her neck. It stirred up a memory from his childhood
“Kagome, there is something I can do to show everyone that you’re mine.” he said. “My father did it to my mother so that if he died she would still live on, but I won’t do it if you don’t want me to.”
“What is it?” she asked.
He touched her neck with a clawed finger. “I can mark you here with a bite. It isn’t done that often since most mates prefer to bond their souls, but if you’ll let me I’d like to do it... Will you let me?”
“Yes.” she replied. “I’d be proud to bear your mark.”
He shook his head. “I’ll never understand you. No one chooses a hanyou. Are you sure about this?”
“I’ve never been more sure of anything in my life.” she told him. “Please InuYasha make love to me, make me yours.” She reached up and began to rub his ears gently and he growled softly. She smiled as he leaned harder into her hand. “You always said you hated it when I rubbed your ears.”
“Keh, I lied.” he replied. “I liked it, too much.”
She laughed. “Does this mean you’ll let me do this from now on?”
“As long as we’re alone, so you can finish what you start.” he replied. He blushed when he realized what he had implied.
“Deal.” she whispered and leaned up capturing his lips in a kiss.
He growled low in his throat. His hands began to act on their own accord, exploring the gentle curves of her body. He couldn’t get over how she delighted in his touch. All his life he had been called dirty and tainted. Kikyou had never let him touch her when she was alive, and here was Kagome offering herself to him in the most intimate of ways.
He trailed wet kisses and soft nips along her neck and down her collar bone. She encouraged him by rubbing his ears. When he took one of her breasts in his mouth she arched up off the ground and moaned loudly. Her hands gripped his head holding him in place and he knew he was doing something right. He pulled away from her hands and kissed lower along her body. He paused briefly to look at her face. Her eyes were closed and she was smiling.
Kagome found herself lost in a haze of sensation. InuYasha was tormenting her body with soft licks and nips, making it hard to think. She felt him gently urge her legs apart. “Oh Kami, InuYasha…” she cried out as his tongue unexpectedly grazed her most sensitive spot. “More”
InuYasha looked at her again. She was panting lightly. He delved his tongue inside her tasting the sweet essence that was Kagome. He explored her slowly, determined to hear his name from her lips again. He raised his head. “Where Kagome?” he asked crawling up her body, but leaving one hand between her legs.
She found his hand with her own and showed him where to touch her. He brushed against her gently and she moaned. “There?” he asked rubbing soft circles against the hardened nub of flesh she had directed him to.
Her hips bucked wildly. “Yes.” she cried. “Kami… Inu…Yasha…don’t stop.” A few seconds later her head fell back and her mouth open in a silent scream.
InuYasha felt her shuddering beneath him. He looked down at her as she panted. He ran a finger along her cheek. “My Kagome.” He said softly. “Did I please you?”
She nodded. “I need you now. I want to feel you inside me, please.”
He positioned himself between her legs. She felt him brushing against her. “Help me koishii. I don’t want to hurt you.”
She opened her legs further and reached down helping him enter her. His hands came up to each side of her head. She rested her hands on his shoulders and could feel him trembling. Slowly he pressed forward. Kagome felt herself stretching to accommodate him. It was uncomfortable but not painful and she urged him on with a thrust of her hips.
He moved with constant pressure breaking through the proof of her purity, until he was fully within her. She winced as she felt her innocence give way, but it hadn’t been as bad as she as expecting. She knew it was because he had been especially gentle with her.
“Fuck Kagome.” he groaned. “You feel so good.” His head was thrown back and the light of the full moon gave him an ethereal glow.
“So do you.” She replied as she raised her hips slightly.
InuYasha fought the urge to just slam into her and find his own release. Kagome had given herself to him and he was going to make sure she didn’t regret it. He began to move slowly and was pleased to hear Kagome moan softly. He felt her moving her body to meet his own. His youki was screaming to be released, but he held it back. Kagome deserved to live a long life not die because he had made a stupid promise.
Kagome knew he was holding back on her behalf. “Harder, faster, Inu…please.” she cried.
He obliged her and felt his own release drawing dangerously close. He didn’t want to finish without her. He reached between them and gently flicked the spot he knew would bring her pleasure. Her nails dug shallow gashes into his shoulders as she cried out his name. He felt her muscles clamp down on him and as he found his own release he bit down on her neck marking her as his.
She trembled beneath him as he lapped at the wound on her neck. He lifted himself off her a little so he could look at her face. He searched for any trace of regret and found none “Did it hurt?” he asked brushing a finger along her neck.
“No.” she replied. “But I was thinking about others thing at the time.” She smiled softly and a light blush dusted her cheeks. She leaned up and gave him a soft kiss. “Thank you. That was amazing.”
“I should be the one thanking you.” He replied. He rolled off to the side and pulled her to his chest. He ran his hand through her hair.
“InuYasha, when we go back…” she started. “I mean… I suppose you want this, us, to be a secret.”
“Is that what you want?” he asked.
“No, but I don’t want you to be uncomfortable. I want you to be happy about us and if that means we have to keep things a secret then we will.” she replied.
He sighed. “You are with me even though I can’t promise you anything beyond tonight. The least I can do is prove that I am proud to be with you, that you are the one I want and I can’t do that if we keep it a secret.”
She smiled. “I need to go home in the morning and tell mama I won’t be back for a while. I want to spend as much time with you as I can.” She told him.
“I’m coming with you.” InuYasha said.
They exited the well house together. InuYasha holding Kagome’s hand firmly in his own. When they entered the house they found her mother in the kitchen. Her eyes fell on their clasped hands and then returned to Kagome’s smiling face.
“Kagome, InuYasha welcome back. I wasn’t expecting you just yet.” Asami said.
Kagome swallowed hard and InuYasha could feel her anxiety. He knew that as the male it was his responsibility to speak to her family, and that according to human custom he should have secured their permission to take Kagome as his.
InuYasha released Kagome’s hand and stepped forward. He gave a low respectful bow. “Higurashi-san, I first offer my most humble apologizes and pray that you can forgive me my actions. I have made Kagome my mate without first seeking your permission and more than that I have dishonored her because I cannot give her all of myself as she has done for me. I have an obligation, a foolish promise that I would give anything to undo. I beg that you accept her back into your home as a widow once I am gone and will make any reparations you would ask of me for your assurance that it will be so.”
“InuYasha...” Kagome said softly, her voice barely a whisper, as tears filled her eyes.
Asami wasn’t quite sure what to say as her daughter embraced the young hanyou. She gave them a moment before speaking. “Lets all sit down. I’m afraid I need a few things explained to me.”
Kagome and InuYasha sat across from her mother hands clasped beneath the table.
“First what does it mean to be mates. I assume this is a youkai custom.” Asami started.
“It’s like being married.” Kagome offered.
“Then what did you mean when you said that you could not give her all of yourself?” Asami asked.
“Most of the time when a youkai finds his mate he will bind their souls with his youki, to form an unbreakable bond. Had I done this with Kagome, she would age as I do, and if one of us died the other would follow, but since I have promised to go with Kikyou to hell once Naraku is gone I couldn’t do that. Kagome deserves better than to die because of a foolish oath.”
“I see...” Asami said slowly.
“Mama, I knew he was still going to keep his promise before we were together and even if tomorrow should be the day when he leaves me I would choose the same.” Kagome offered.
“Higurashi-san I will do anything you ask to assure Kagome has a place to return to, where she will be cared for once I am no longer there to protect her.” InuYasha told her.
“First of all Kagome will always have a place here with us and from what you tell me she is your wife and so should you die she really will be a widow.” Asami said. “I can understand better than you might realize her choice to be with you. Even had I know her father would not even live long enough to see his son I wouldn’t have done anything differently. Kagome knew your intentions and if she can accept what is to come then so can I.”
Kagome hugged her mother tightly. “Thank you mama, for understanding. I’ll miss you and I love you.”
“I love you to dear.” Asami replied. “Remember you never know what the fates have in store for you. I will pray for your happily ever after.”
Kagome nodded and wiped her tears. She let InuYasha take her hand and lead her into the well house.

Kagome stepped out of the hut to find InuYasha standing a few feet away looking out into the forest. It was easy enough to see what he was looking at. Kikyou’s soul gatherers were flying just above the trees.“Are you going to see her?” She asked trying to keep the pain out of her voice. She fought back her tears as she waited for his answer.
