Alive yet dead
summary: in this story, inuyasha is battling a giant owl demon with SIX jewel shards......then something happens.

It was big.
It was powerful.
It had SIX shards of the shikon jewel.
It was a giant owl demon that was not going to give up the shards without a fight.
"everybody listen up!" shouted miroku to everyone.
"i have heard that this particular owl demon has very powerful attacks, and one glance in it's eyes can kill you!" shouted miroku to warn everyone.
"Feh! that overgrown owl is nothing compared to my kaze no kizu or banryuuha, i'll take him down in one strike!" shouted inuyasha confidentally.
' i hope your right inuyasha' kagome thought to herself.
just then the owl demon opened its mouth and an invisible force followed by a loud shrieking noise that pushed back everyone including inuyasha who was covering his ears.
as soon as kagome had gotten up, she had an sacred arrow at the ready and let it fly into one of the demons wings.
the owl demon was now really pissed off because as soon as it recovered from the attack it let loose another shreiking shockwave attack sending inuyasha and his friends back with just as much force as before.
this time, sango was the first to get up and with all of the power she could muster, she threw her hiriakotsu (spell right?) right at the demons belly.
nothing happened, the boomerang of sango's only bounced off of the belly and hit sango in the chest knocking her unconcious.
"LADY SANGO!!" cried miroku who rushed to sango's side.
by the time sango was knocked unconcious , kagome had gotten up, but with much difficulty due to the fact that she had a twisted ankle.
after getting up, kagome had readied yet another arrow and aimed for the other wing.
however, before she could let her arrow soar, the was knocked back into a tree knockng herrself unconcious from a blow to her side from the giant owl demons foot.
"KAGOME!!!" yelled inuyasha as he stood before kagome's limp body.
'she's alive, but just barely.' thought inuyasha to himself.
after kagome was knocked unconcious inuyasha saw nothing but rage in his eyes for hurting his kagome.
the kagome he had sworn to protect.
inuyasha then brought out his sword which transformed into it fang like stage and jumped at the demons head forgetting what miroku said earlier.
as the head was chopped off from its shoulders, inuyasha caught a glimpse of its eyes and then he fell.
he fell with a loud,sickening thud on the grassy green ground.
everyone thought the worse, espescially kagome.
'no, he cant be, he isn't, i.....i never told him how i felt about him' said kagome in er mind, tears starting to form.
then she rmembered something she had learned in med class.
she had to go check inuyasha's pulse.
as soon as kagome got to inuyasha's side she started timing.
"he's alive!!" shouted kagome happily to miroku and shippo ho was hiding in kaede's hut.
"however.....he is in a coma." finished kagome.
"coma? whats that?" asked a curious shippo.
"well, a coma is when your asleep for a long time and you may never wake up but your not dead either." said kagome to the little fox boy.
"so, he's asleep but alive?" asked shippo.
"thats right." answered kagome.
just then sango came back with the six jewel shards and kagome told her everything with what happened to inuyasha.
there is one thing though, inuyasha's spirit has left the body and was now floating around thinking about how he could be so stupid.
just then miroku placed some charms around inuyasha's body in the hut so noone or anything could attack or possese inuyasha's body.
as soon as inuyasha tried to float back into his body, he was forced backwards and was trapped inside miroku's thoughts.
