InuYasha Fan Fiction ❯ All Of Me ❯ Chapter 1

[ P - Pre-Teen ]

Disclaimer: Don't own Inu, don't own Evanescence. And If I don't owe that, maybe I don't owe my homework either ~looks up to teacher before being handed a paper with “F” clearly written on it~ . . . worth a try.

AN: WAIT. Before you look down to the song and assume that it is the same fanfiction as The Talent Show, please note that I have taken that story down. I am using the same song, but other than that this is what I should have written in the first place. . . Be warned that this story contains much of my famous tendency to bounce back from POV to POV, but at least this time I warned you.

All Of Me

~*~*~*~ Kagome ~*~*~*~

~I'm so tired of being here . . .
suppressed by all of my childish fears~

Kagome peered out from behind the tree. Her miko-powers now fully developed she knew that he would not sense her. How could he do this to her? How long had she waited for their quest to be over? And in the end he had left her and their group and gone into the forest. And she knew, she KNEW, just to whom she was going. Ever since she had come to feudal Japan she had lived in the woman's shadow. And now here she was, being suppressed by the clay pot, which held the soul of a woman long dead. She had only walked in during the middle of their conversation, but she was sure. . . that the one she loved would be leaving her. . .

~*~*~*~ Before ~*~*~*~*~

Inuyasha stared up to Kikyou. . . no. . . it really wasn't Kikyou. The Kikyou that he had known before was long gone, replaced by this half woman. Before the final battle she had threatened to leave without him, not going through with the threat. And now here she was again, giving him another ultimatum. She just wouldn't leave . . . and that was what he needed . . . he needed her to leave.

~And if you have to leave
I wish that you would just leave
because your presence still lingers here
and it won't leave me alone.~

~*~*~*~ Kikyou ~*~*~*~

He owed her. . . he OWED her! He was the reason that she was so tortured. . . it was all HIS fault. So why was he now refusing to go with her? Why was he breaking his promise of love and of protection?! She wasn't dead. . . she had a soul now! But why couldn't he see her as a woman anymore? Was it. . . her reincarnation?

~These wounds won't seem to heal
this pain is just too real
there's just too much that time cannot erase~

~*~*~*~ Inuyasha ~*~*~*~

He had promised to protect both of them. But now he had to make a choice, and for once the hanyou was ignoring his stubborn pride and choosing what his heart most wanted. True. . . he had loved Kikyou. . . once. But now he felt himself get warm whenever Kagome brushed against him, whenever she looked at him, whenever he looked at her. This time he recognized love, he recognized that he needed her. . . that he would fight to his death for her. . . always

~When you cried I'd wipe away all of your tears
when you'd scream I'd fight away all of your fears~

~*~*~*~ Kagome ~*~*~*~

She knew she loved him. And she knew that he loved her. She had followed him faithfully for years and helped his cause. He owned her. . . she was his. . . but he wasn't hers. And it killed her to know that the memory of a dead woman held more power over the man she loved than she herself did. It killed her. . .

~and I've held your hand through all of these years
but you still have all of me~

~*~*~*~ Inuyasha ~*~*~*~

Kagome wasn't quite Kikyou. Kagome was sweeter, more open, more nurturing. Kagome accepted him, human, half demon, full demon. Kagome was the bright light of what the Kikyou he once loved was. Kikyou was his past. . . but Kagome was his future.

~You used to captivate me
by your resonating light
but now I'm bound by the life you left behind
your face it haunts my once pleasant dreams
your voice it chased away all the sanity in me.~

~*~*~*~ Now ~*~*~*~

Kagome let out a soft cry of fear when Kikyou opened up the gateways of hell. She watched as Inuyasha stepped forward, holding Kikyou's hand. It seemed as if he was letting himself be dragged down into the fiery depths. She felt her heart start to give way as she fell down on her knees and started to sob.

~These wounds won't seem to heal
this pain is just too real
there's just too much that time cannot erase . . .~

Inuyasha watched as the gateways closed themselves. He had held her hand until the last moment, guided her through it. And now he turned at the sound of crying to see that Kagome was rocking back and forth on the floor. He moved to her, wrapping his arms around her, whispering three soft words as he closed her eyes and held the woman he loved.

~When you cried I'd wipe away all of your tears
when you'd scream I'd fight away all of your fears
and I've held your hand through all of these years
but you still have all of me.~

~*~*~*~ Kagome ~*~*~*~

Maybe. . . this time . . . was different. . . and he had chosen her. . .

~I've tried so hard to tell myself that you're gone
But really. . . you're still with me. . .~

AN: Yes I realize that I changed the last line, but I thought it would be more suitable to the ending. Hope you enjoyed it, please review.
