InuYasha Fan Fiction ❯ All To Myself ❯ Chapter 2: Alibis ( Chapter 2 )

[ X - Adult: No readers under 18. Contains Graphic Adult Themes/Extreme violence. ]

Author Note: Okay onward mush goes the progress of the story. Keep in mind the Academy is a little bit more dangerous. I thought that perhaps it was a much more realistic approach. If the feudal era is dangerous because of demons I would believe that today and age would also be that way.

Chapter Two: Alibis
Miroku arrived at his house parking his black jeep into the garage. It was not an enormous house but it was comfortable. Two story with two master rooms that included their own bath. There was a nice sized living room fully stalked with white leather furniture, the room was adorned with a flat screen fifty-two inch television perfect for entertaining. The kitchen was marbled and nice sized it had every last accessory that a world chief could only hope to have. Not too far from the kitchen was the entry to the laundry room. Towards the back of the house was a fully equipped workout room and indoor hot tub. It was every bachelors dream house to say in the least.
Miroku walked through the garage entering the house heading straight for the nice white leather couch in the living room. He plopped down taking in every last bit of comfort the seat had to offer and sighed irritably.
“Geeze, what's your deal?” Inuyasha questioned after Miroku had plopped down on the cushioned heaven. Inuyasha was stretched across the sofa with the remote laying lazily on his chest as he eyed Miroku.
“Long day Inuyasha,” Miroku's voice held a certain hint of annoyance to the half breed dog demon. “With many of no thanks to you!” he shot his lazy looking best friend a glare.
Inuyasha cracked his knuckles, “Look it's her own damn fault. It was her fucking scent it just, well hell, made me want to antagonize her. Hell, I at least saved her from Kouga's grimy hands.” Inuyasha stood from the couch and headed into the kitchen grabbing a pot off the stove filling it with water before placing it upon the burners allowing it to come to a boil. “So can I count on her wanting to fight with me more tomorrow? Ha, she's actually a challenge the girl actually has a brain on her unlike all the normal skanks that stink up that hell hole.” Inuyasha smirked sitting back in his original spot.
Miroku listened intently to Inuyasha's ongoing conversation about his cousin. It was particularly odd for Inuyasha to be complimenting a female. He never did that, not even with Kikyou and hell that was the closest to a real relationship that Inuyasha ever got to. That is, if you would consider a relationship soley based on sex. They had done nothing but used each other in Miroku's eyes. No, Inuyasha complimenting someone that was really uncharacteristic of him unless that was he…. Miroku's eyes widened slightly, “No Inuyasha! No way in hell, no!”
Inuyasha looked at Miroku with slight surprise, “Psh What monk?” He was not sure he liked the sparks he saw evolving in Miroku's dark hues.
“Not my cousin no, you have any women at that academy up for grabs, just stay away from my cousin. I mean it. “Miroku sounded like a mother scolding a child telling them to stay away from strangers. Inuyasha eyed Miroku intently he had never really seen Miroku display this type of emotion before. He could not help but smirk at the monk. “I mean it Inuyasha, NO!”
“Hmph, whatever,” Was the only thing that Inuyasha could coherently come up with, without causing a riot.
Miroku rubbed his eyes taking a deep breath. “She's been through a lot of bad shit Inuyasha. Besides I have seen how you treat and use women. That's all my sweet innocent little cousin needs is for you to play a game of cat and mouse with her.”
Disregarding the bulk of his warnings Inuyasha found himself more interested in her past do to what Miroku had thrown out there. “I smelled a small bit of fear and an extreme amount of sadness from that girl all day I've never felt something so genuinely open before…so what kind of shit did she go through anyways?” he inquired. Actually the only time he had not smelled those feeling come from her was when he first got to school and when they had their big blow out. He smiled a little remembering it again. Yes, he would admit it she was cute.
Miroku shook his head. Again Inuyasha was acting so strange today, since when did he care anything about anyone else but himself, with the few exceptions he took up for Miroku. Grief over took Miroku at Inuyasha's question as realization really dawned on him that he did not really know anything about Kagome's situation.
“Miroku?” Inuyasha pushed once more. The emotions played across Miroku's face.
“I really do not know Inuyasha…Family life I knew when her mother remarried things got rough. Kagome really will not talk to me about it. Normally we can tell each other anything.” Miroku was really beginning to feel frustrated. Had something really terrible happened to Kagome? If anyone hurt her he would kill them. Simple.
Inuyasha intently paid attention to Miroku deciding to not push the subject any more despite his curiosity.
“Inuyasha are you attempting to cook again because it is burning, my friend.” Miroku pointed out.
“Damn!”
“Really Inuyasha…who do you know that possibly burns water?” Miroku sighed.

***************************************************************** ********************

As Miroku had promised he was not a minute late to pick up Kagome. She too had been ready and waiting for him. She could not help but contemplate how it was going to be like actually living here. The prior day had been so colorful after all.
“Thank goodness little cousin because if you were not here on time I would have left you!” Miroku grinned at her. He watched her as she sat with in the car tugging down on her school uniform skirt. “Well, look at you little Kagome did not notice how cute you look in your school uniform” He smiled at the dirty look she gave him.
Miroku drove off towards the school. “Oh, I see how it is. You can argue and get heated with Inuyasha. But, with me I simply get the cold shoulder.” He laughed at the face he earned from Kagome. “Hmph, you're bearable to be around unlike that, over bearing, pig headed, ugh, that obnoxious excuse of a…”
“I got it, I got it!” Miroku laughed again at the anger that flowed through the normally poised girl. That was only what he could assume Inuyasha had enjoyed so much the previous day. Inuyasha really was not as bad as he acted or tried to be. Inuyasha just did not trust anyone. To be honest, it had taken him awhile to even let Miroku in and have trust with him. Even with that said, Miroku was still sure that Inuyasha did not fully trust him. He still was confused about his odd interest in Kagome. Thoughts of the previous night's conversation flooded into his mind.
“Kagome?”
The raven haired girl acknowledged her name and the hint of worry that coated Miroku's voice. “What is it Miroku?” Kagome was a little unsure in wanting to answer him, assuming what it was that he was most likely inquiring about. She knew he had been worried about her and they really had not talked about the series of events that had brought so much misery to her over the last year or so. Maybe she was embarrassed? No maybe more so ashamed.
“You have just been so much more on guard lately it is very much not like you, that is what I mean to say…well what is on your mind? What is making you so distraught? Even Inuyasha noticed and well your one of the closest people to me I just feel you should be able to talk to me about anything. We always have before.” Miroku tried picking his words right. He really wanted her to open up to him. Even if Inuyasha was rough around the edges picking up on feelings with his nose was always something that he was really good at. If something was indeed causing harm to Kagome knowing would be the first step in solving the issue and helping her.
Kagome fidgeted uncomfortably. It was not that she did not want to tell Miroku the reasoning to her lack of normal happy go lucky self. It was the fact that she just wanted to forget the troubling chapter in her life so she could just lead a normal life. Fear was always going to be with her but eventually maybe it would fade. Kagome sighed, “Miroku really I'm fine now. I really am still me it's just I haven't been happy in awhile and this time is going to be different alright. I'm not a troubled kid nor am I a trouble maker. But, you just better believe I am not going to get pushed around anymore.” Kagome smiled up at Miroku. “Now I've always been like that!”
Realization hit Miroku as he realized whatever was troubling Kagome she was still dealing with it and probably not ready to talk about it. It greatly irritated him but, what else could you do? He very well knew it could not be forced out of her.
“Pushed around huh? If I remember right you were the one who always bullied me little cousin.” Miroku laughed.
Kagome's smile also grew, “Yeah whatever.” Was her simple reply, “Oh hey, Miroku stop the car please!” Peering out the passenger's window Kagome had noticed a familiar face as they had been making their way down the street. Miroku stopped as instructed looking over at Kagome to know her reasoning for such request.
Kagome rolled the window down immediately leaning her body out it. “Hey Sango!!” She yelled waving at the girl. Sango took notice of her name finding the owner of the voice shouting it rather loudly. Hurrying up to the jeep she took a deep breath. “Hey you're on your way to class, you said English Lit yesterday, right? I hadn't realized it till this morning but I'm pretty sure I have it as well.” She smiled not really taking any notice to the driver of the car.
“Yeah that's right! But why are you walking I thought you lived on campus Sango?” Kagome wondered.
Sango laughed, “Yeah I do but I had to open up the diner that I work at. Papa decided at the last minute last night to take a business trip, trying to get more chains out there. So of course I would have to be up there by five in the morning to get it going.” Despite the dilemma Sango still held happiness about her. She could not help but peer at the driver of the car any longer though noticing that it was indeed Miroku. When she had made her way to the car Sango was sure that it was Miroku's car but why was Kagome driving with him?
Miroku could not help but to gawk. The girl of his dreams, he could not help but sigh. It would be his luck that Kagome would befriend this girl. Miroku had tried several times to ask her out but alas never got the answer he in which he seek. Inuyasha had been telling him for years to give it up. However, Miroku would not just give up on such a beauty. Every girl he had every talked to had always been wooed by him, but, the fire cracker before him never showed such emotions. However, it was not just her beauty that intrigued him but her ambition and drive were so strong. Anyone who knew Miroku knew he was top of the class every year. Anyone who knew Sango knew she came in second every year and absolutely detested it. Since he had known her she always had tried to beat him at everything and he simply just adored it.
“Miroku? Miroku geeze, snap out of it!” Kagome yelled pushing his shoulder hard enough to push him into the driver window. “Oh, for crying out loud you didn't hear a word I said did you!” Kagome berated again she turned back towards Sango. “Hey why don't you hop in and we'll give you a ride, no use walking when we're going to the same place right?”
Sango hesitantly almost just almost shyly looked over to Miroku. Why was he driving Kagome to school? The thought was still plaguing her mind bringing much bother to it. Had he already really made a pass at her? Sure he made passes at other girls but he always really just tried to gain her attention. But Kagome did not seem like that type of girl. “Is that alright with you Miroku?” She finally asked deciding she would figure out the details later. If he was already making a pass at her new sweet friend there was going to be hell for him to pay!
Miroku could not contain his chuckle, “Why anything for you my dear sweet Sango.” He coed his reply in the usual play boy type of way. Sango rolled her eyes opening the back door to the jeep sitting in the seat straight behind Kagome.
“So Sango I have not had the pleasure to speak with you in awhile however have you been?” He smiled. It was just the simple way he spoke to her in such an innocent way that irritated her most. “Look monk, some of us are busy trying to do something with our lives don't you pull that charm thing on me!” Sango spoke annoyed she was not really sure why. She could not understand the twinge in her chest.
Miroku smile grew a little more that was what he basically expected. “Oh hostile as usual Sango, whatever is on your mind, rest assured, do not worry about it I'm sure it's nothing.” She always got quiet like that when something was bothering her that had not been something that took him long to figure out.
Sango lowered her head feeling her cheeks heat up knowing he had gotten to her again with his words. “Oh, who asked you letch?” She turned looking out the window.
Kagome listened to the conversation with much interest. Miroku had always been well a little more perverse than she wished and it earned him troubles from the opposite side on occasion. But, he had not really acted like this with a girl before, or at least not that she had noticed. It was actually kind of fun to Kagome. The tension was pretty strong once Sango entered the car so it was pretty obvious to anyone paying attention they both had something going on. Maybe only time will tell what exactly that was.

***************************************************************** ********************

Both Sango and Kagome had made it to class with a good ten minutes to spare. Miroku had graciously let them off at the door to park the jeep as he rushed to the library. Going to the back area of the class room the two girls chose seats right next to each other and got situated.
Sango looked over at Kagome after pulling out her notebook. “Well you seem to making friends pretty well Kagome?”
Kagome giggled, “Yeah I have one friend so far, you. Of course I think that's plenty for me.” The two had spent hours on the phone talking yesterday as Kagome had unpacked. She felt like she had gotten a good grasp on Sango and she really was glad she met her. They both did not deal with others crap. Athletics had always come easy to the two of them. The two girls shared the same interest in movies, music, and curricular activities it was like a match made in heaven. Talking to Sango had made her completely forget about the fiasco with the stupid jerk she encountered yesterday. Come to think of it she had not even thought of asking Sango about him, and just what the hell his problem was?
After thinking about it a few long seconds Sango finally asked what had been on her mind most of the ride to school. “Oh, well I meant Miroku. You already seemed to have gotten to know Miroku pretty well.” Sango asked embarrassment evident on her face.
Her comment took Kagome of guard for a second. Bingo. That was what was bothering Sango so much in the car. She thought, that is, she was assuming that Kagome and Miroku were…eww the thought past through Kagome as she finally started to laugh at its ridiculousness.
Sango watched the random emotions pass through Kagome's face hoping that she had not embarrassed herself. However, once Kagome started laughing and shaking her head Sango became slightly confused.
“He's my cousin Sango. It's not like that I swear!” Kagome finally squeezed out her sentence. Relief hit Sango's face. Wait cousin?
“You're his cousin? Wow gene pool sure worked itself out differently for you two. I would have never guessed you were related…” Sango could not explain the relief that was hitting her that moment. She had thought that Miroku was acting a little odd around Kagome.
“You like Miroku don't you?” Kagome grinned as she cupped her cheeks in her hands staring into Sango's embarrassed eyes. “I mean earlier you thought that maybe I and Miroku were…?” Kagome suggested.
Sango shook her head. “Wait, wait just a minute now Kagome, I well, now he is nothing but a perverted lech. He would never know how to treat a, ugh all he does is shamelessly flirt with all…oh that is I mean he just.” Sango fought the best she could to find the right words.
“Uh, huh…suuure.” Kagome laughed. The red in Sango's face just worsened. It probably was not much of Kagomes business but she really liked the idea of Sango and Miroku. “Don't worry Sango I won't say anything promise.” Kagome saw the relief pass through Sango's face until that was once she sprang her next question. “You were jealous right?”
Sango's eyes widened slightly at Kagomes words. Was that the burning she had felt in her chest? Sango was not the type of person to really ever get jealous. But, Miroku waited on her hand and foot often bought her lunch, he always offered to help her study when she was confused, and he always asked about her life and showed concern for her. Maybe she would miss that if it were gone and did feel a spat of jealously and was afraid. “Look I'm just confused right now that's all, in the three years I have known Miroku, he just has never really been the type to well have a serious relationship anyways.” Sango whispered sadly remembering that little detail about him.
“Personally I think that he is very much interested, and trust me I'm always right about these things?” Kagome smiled brightly taking Sango's hand in hers in hopes of eliciting some sort of comfort. “Besides I have never known Miroku to stick with something or rather someone for so long, three years and he is still giving you the looks that I've seen him giving you, I don't know I think you're very wrong. Everyone has someone who saves them be it change them for the better or make them happy. At least that's what I think.”
“Keh I would wage a bet that that only happens on very few occasions.” Kagome cringed at the voice. `What the hell is he doing here?' Kagome turned to the obnoxious man.
“Awe, come on did you miss me little hot head?” Inuyasha inquired from the annoyed looking raven haired girl. He could hardly help but take in a deep breath to take in every little last bit of her scent. He smirked as Kagome's face heated up in anger as she crossed her hand over her chest and looked off in the other direction to advert any gaze from him. Kagome reminded him a lot of a little girl who was acting like nothing but a spoiled brat.
“Oi, don't tell me your going to ignore me now hot head?” He continued to stare at him with that molten glaze that would make any weak girl crumble into a puddle.
Kagome seethed. Was this jerk really in her class? And he did just have to come right back here and taunt her. “Look, stop calling me that! Besides I have no reason on Earth to have to associate with the likes of you!” She waived her hand in an away type of gesture while still not even bothering to look at him.
Inuyasha chuckled she was doing it again acting like a spoiled bigot. “Well, let's see hot head does sound slightly unattractive for someone of you quality….” He trailed off placing his hand upon his chin in a thinking kind of manner.
Kagome blushed a bit although it was hidden by her already angry red cheeks. Did he just indirectly say she was attractive?
“Well,” inuyasha continued leaning down to her right to finally catch her turned gaze. He liked it when her eyes became locked with his. “Let's see, your majesty, perhaps?” he stood up straight as she still watched him he could tell she was starting to become suspicious of him. “No, no, that sounds way to formal….Queen perhaps?” He chuckled a bit “Nah, you too much a kid for that, I think im gonna have to go with Princess, yea a spoiled rotten little princess. By the way you're talking to be I could probably even throw in ignorant too. Yeah, I think I like that what'dya say Princess.” He could not help but hold his smile, it was happening again her scent was just spiking up in anger again. He knew it be easy just did not know it be quiet this much fun.
“Why you, pig headed, egotistical, rude, obnoxious….” Kagome began going into a slur of so many insults it was too hard to catch everything.
Sango watched intently Inuyasha was Miroku's best friend so she was not surprised that these two knew each other. But, in all the time she had known Inuyasha, which was as long as she had Miroku, she had never seen him smile so much. It actually was a little worrisome to her. Inuyasha had a reputation much like Miroku's but Inuyasha never really cared about any of the girls here not to mention any of his conquests, and most of them were older women anyways, well that is if you believed the rumors anyways.
Inuyasha walked past Kagome taking the seat behind her. “Just what do you think you are doing?” Kagome snapped. Gods, this guy had some nerve. She could hardly believe he was getting under her skin so much.
“Well I am getting ready to start class. Most us commoners we do sit down in class as well, or do they not where you're from princess?” Kagome swiped at him in hopes of slapping the dumb smirk off his face.
“Stop calling me that! I have a name you pampas stupid jerk!”
“Now, now princess you should not act in such a frightful way it would be unbecoming of your image.” Inuyasha just smiled sitting back and watching her. Kagome rolled her eyes and turned back around to continue talking to Sango
“So Sango are you going to tell him?” Kagome asked trying to ease herself back into the previous conversation. She caught Sango off guard with how much she acted like the little spat with Inuyasha had not even transpired. “Uh, er, well….” Sango began.
“Going to tell who what?” Inuyasha asked trying not to laugh as Kagome scent heightened again with annoyance. So now all he had to do was speak. Hell, made things a lot easier on him.
“It is none of your business, Inuyasha. Now leave us alone!” she yelled. Sango giggled to herself Kagome was definitely making life just a little more interesting. The said girl again turned back to Sango, “Well?” Kagome pushed.
“Uh, I think a no would be the answer to your question,” Sango answered. She could not tell Miroku she liked him. The fear of him not returning her feelings would just kill her she knew that much. Plus how embarrassing you that be to admit to a lecher that she had feeling for him. Besides Miroku was the type of guy who liked a chase right? So if there were no need to chase it be all over.
“Well have you two ever tried going on a date before or anything?” Kagome was normally not that nosey of a person but she could not help but think about how much fun it was too well be a normal teenage girl.
Sango laughed at Kagome she seemed like a little girl at that moment. Truth be told for Sango it was really nice. Most of the demons shunned her because she was a demon exterminator whereas most mikos and witches also shunned her feeling she was not good enough because of her lack of spiritual or black powers. Perhaps it was one reason that she sometimes found herself having feelings towards Miroku. He was one of the only people who gave her any real attention or acknowledgment at this school, besides her roommate whom was really bad about attending classes, that she was not someone worthless.
Sango shook her head. “What about you Kagome? Since we've met we talk a lot about me what about you?” After the words had left Sango's lips she really thought about how much she really did not know about Kagome. Sure simple things like hobbies. But no real stories or experiences or a lot about her views, like Sango had shared with her.
Kagome blinked a few times, “Huh?” was the only intelligent response she could muster.
“Well, I know this is only your second day and all but anyone who has caught your eyes yet? Anyone you would like to date?” Sango smiled it was nice to see Kagome with a startled look for once.
“Uh, well…” Kagome was not really sure what to say. She had not even thought about looking at boys. It was not that she did not like boys. No not at all that it was just she had never really dated. Her first kiss was at the tender age of seven when she chased down one of Miroku's friends and planted one on him. If of course you could really call that a kiss, and that was about where her experience ended. Miroku made it very difficult for her to date growing up. So it was almost like she kind of gave up eventually.
“What? Don't tell me you're into chicks there Princess?” Inuyasha's voice chided in. He could not help but want to hear about her answers to Sango's questions.
Kagome growled the best a human possibly could. “NO… I do NOT like girls! Why are you so interested all of a sudden pup? Why won't you leave me alone?”
“Maybe you just interest me Princess?” Inuyasha simply and honestly stated with no sarcasm or teasing intended.
Kagome stayed turned around unsure of what to say. `Why would he say something like that?' Kagome looked over at Sango who sat with a smile much like the one Kagome had earlier. “Nope, all I have met is a bitch, a pervert, and an egotistical, hard headed, self-centered ass hole!” Kagome finished turning to look at Inuyasha who still was intently looking her way.
Inuyasha leaned across his desk leaning right into Kagome's face. “Ya know if you acted more like a chick and wasn't such a hot head or overbearingly immature and stuck up, maybe you wouldn't have those types of problems girl.” Her slinging insults were starting to get the better of him. No one did that, no one, with the exception of one individual but no he would not think about that not now.
“Ugh, what would you know?” Kagome challenged not moving a budge. She couldn't believe he was throwing insults at her when this was all clearly his fault.
“I'm certain a lot more than you. I have experience on my side, do tell how many people have you even dated, woman, ha better yet how many notches on your bed post would you say you have? Probably a fourth of what experience I've got!” The thought of her being with other men bothered him. Nothing like that had ever bothered him before he could care less what women do. Yet, here he was trying his best to inquire. Inuyasha reached up a grabbing a loose strand of her hair away from her face. Kagome's eyes widen slightly. He was doing it again. Just what was he doing? He just threw around disheartened phrases and then touches her delicately and she just freezes, again.
“Inuyasha knock it off and leave her alone. I don't know who is worse you or Miroku!” Sango finally spoke up growing tired of Inuyasha's antics. Kagome turned around paying no more attention to the half demon. Did he really think she was that kind of person? It was like he could not make up his mind. She was not experienced yet she was a slut?
“Kagome don't let him get ya down. He's just being an ass because you're such a strong hearted girl.” Sango yelled. She did not know any of Kagome's more personal life yet, but, she was sure she was not that type of person. The blush on the younger girls face would not have been so bright if she were. It was clear to anyone paying attention that she was rather uncomfortable about the direction the topic went towards.
“He's right though. I haven't had a boyfriend before,” Kagome whispered. She almost sounded a little bitter. She really truly had never been able to. Circumstances always kept her from it.
“Really? You're a beautiful girl, Kagome! You just haven't met the right one yet that is all,” Sango encouraged. Although surprised at Kagome's confession she was able to send Inuyasha a dirty look. It did not last long however once she saw inuyasha's face. He face was surprised and yet he also looked like he was sad? Feeling bad perhaps for assuming what Kagome was like possibly? Sango was not sure and could hardly put her finger on it, but she did know one thing, she had never seen an expression like that on Inuyasha.
“Ha, no wonder that girl gets on Kikyou's nerves. Haha I bet you're still a stupid virgin those are always the most obnoxious. What's wrong Ka-go-me can you not even find just one guy who will sleep with you? Haha are you really that dull? You could always hire someone.” Another giggle erupted from the newcomer, “No real power, no real skill, no wonder you like Sango so much.” The squeaky voiced girl with short black hair bemused from the corner of the room.
“Yura! I will kick your ass, so help me, if you start up shit again!” Sango's voice dripped with venom as she glared up at the Yura. Yura smirked working her way over to the sitting Kagome. “I had to see for myself what was so special about you, hmm, what a disappointment. Ugh just look at that ugly mop upon your head.” Yura reached her hand out as if to grasp Kagome. Kagome felt a slight sting on her cheek as a few drops of blood flowed out freely upon it.
“Don't you dare fucking touch her witch!” Inuyasha spat he reached out in front of Kagome's face wrapping his hand around thin air. She gasped as his hand began to bleed. Droplets traveled down what looked like a few strands of hair. With his other hand he grabbed hold of Yura's wrist before she could further harm Kagome. He pushed her away and stood tall crossing his arms over his chest. “You're such a dumb wench Yura. You know nothing about her. Power and skill. What would you know about either of those? Besides she's what, twenty something? There's no one that age who doesn't fuck in this school. Haven't you realized everyone here, their all tainted…”
“INUYASHA!” Sango yelled. Inuyasha felt his muscles tighten, damn he always did speak before thinking.
Kagome's face was red with embarrassed once the words tainted however came out of his mouth it jolted something in the pit of her stomach that made her feel sick. Inuyasha turned to look at Kagome catching her facial features. Suddenly he felt like he may have just stuck his foot in his mouth even worse than earlier and felt guilty. Inuyasha never felt that way. She had just admitted she had never had a boyfriend. He knew many a girls in the school who had yet to have a boyfriend and still could not keep their hormones in check. However, Kagome was so different in other aspects; perhaps she really was one of the few girls out there in this corrupt city that had dignity. Maybe it was why her scent continued to tantalize him.
Kagome sat in a daze. She could hear the voice. She could hear the voice of her past shouting at her.
`hmph, your just tainted you're a tainted little girl. No one will want you, you stupid cunt.'
She could feel the tears beginning to well up in the corners of her eyes. No matter how hard she tried she could never get some of these thoughts to leave her mind. A touch upon her cheek caused her to gasp looking up her eyes met golden hues. Inuyasha wiped the blood from her face placing his now bloodied index finger into his mouth. Kagome's eyes widened with confusion at Inuyasha's strange behavior. `Did he just taste my blood?' she thought to herself.
Inuyasha reacted without really thinking about it until he realized he tasted Kagome's blood. It was sweet and so innocent. A dog demon could tell a lot about someone based on scent, but nothing was a accurate as blood. Although the act seemed very much detestable to a human for demons it was natural. Blood was used to heal, it was used to form bonds, it could be used to learn about others, and for much stronger and mature demons it could even be used to see images and pick up on small bits of one's life if it was the center of that person's attention. His eyes widened a little bit wow he had probably sounded like an absolute idiot. He was not sure what it was he had seen, but he knew one thing. Pure.100% pure, He recalled the conversation he had with Miroku the previous night as he talked about how innocent Kagome was. Inuyasha would never have guessed that….
“Hmph.” Inuyasha licked his thumb returning his hand to Kagome's cheek cleaning the rest of the blood that was now dried on her cheek. “Don't cry.” He whispered using the same hand he curled his index finger up to wipe away her tears paying head to his claws upon her delicate face. “You're pure. I'm sorry, I was wrong. That is, there isn't anything wrong with that, not even in the least Kagome,” Inuyasha spoke softly and genuinely. It was the first time he had sounded so gentle. The way he said her name made her heart pound loudly against her chest. He actually spoke her name. He looked at her a little longer then turned his attention back to Yura. “Look slut, don't you fucking dare mess with her or I'll rip your heart out and feed it to all you lackeys, but not before I strangle you with your own intestines and if you don't think I could get away with it try me…” Inuyasha growled as flicks of red passed through his hues. Yura gasped backing away from him and into the nearby chair startled as he passed by her heading towards the door of the classroom.
“Inuyasha? Inuyasha? I just got here, class is suppose to start, wherever are you going you stubborn boy?” The teacher asked entering into the classroom.
“Out,” was Inuyasha's simple reply as he exited the class.
Yura remained silent, every demon in that room new that was a threat to not touch the new girl or he would come after them. In demon term he had basically staked his claim.
Kagome stood and pondered over the odd occurrence that had just happened. Pure? Did he really just call her pure? In part she did feel a little awkward it was a little embarrassing that she was still a virgin, and now it was basically publicized to the rest of the classroom, but she liked that he thought she was pure. Ever since the last year and half she had thought she had lost all bits of her purity and no one would ever possibly want someone like her. Not to say he wanted her, but she took his compliment truly to heart.
“Kagome? Kagome are you alright?” Sango asked her. She was still somewhat confused about the series of events but much like the demons in the class Sango's knowledge of specific demons was very well known and she too caught the implications in Inuyasha's threat. Perhaps she should talk to Miroku about it when she saw him next.
“Yeah, hey I'm…I'll be right back,” Kagome informed Sango getting up and to exiting the class.

Inuyasha walked through the hallway making his way outside for some much needed cold and fresh air. `What the hell is wrong with me?' Girls like that did not exist in this world in his world. They just didn't! Girls were just around for fun and all they cared about were themselves, experience had taught him that. But, her damn scent was driving him insane and now he knew why. Not to mention that image he caught of her frightened to death what had that been? Keh he thought bitterly to himself that probably would be the look she would give him if she knew he could not help but want her. No one would want a half-breed anyways no one wants something foreign, different. No half-breeds were just around for fun nothing more another one of life trials he had learned.
Of course that's what it does mean when you're different. Nobody trusts you, you're always the first to be blamed, and everything is always, ALWAYS your fault. There had never been a place for him. So he had no choice but to make one for himself. He had a place he knew, but he was the only one in it. And there has never been any other way to live.
“Inuyasha?”
`Great, speak of the devil,' Inuyasha thought to himself stopping his strides.
“What do you want?” He asked gruffly his demeanor much different than what it had been a few minutes ago.
`Must be back to his old self.' Kagome thought. “Well I just, er, thank you that is.” Oh great she sounded like an idiot. Truth was she just wanted to be around him a little longer after the whole episode in the classroom. It was not like it was anything personal. She was just curious that was all really.
Inuyasha chuckled what irony now she was chasing him and he was the one who had hurt her. “What for?” He turned towards Kagome adorning his normal smug smirk. She blushed lightly eyes averting towards the ground. He knew know just how genuine those blushes were and loved it. He had mistaken the blushes for anger, which could be anyone's mistake seeing how they went hand in hand so many times. The more he was thinking though he wondered if she just simply felt uncomfortable around him. Before he knew it had reached out lifting her chin to graze into her chocolate eye. Yes, he could get use to staring into those eyes. Gods, his blood was boiling uncomfortably like it had the previous day.
Kagome could feel her cheeks heat up confusing her slightly. She just stared at the ground trying her best to think of something. But, all hope of thinking of something coherent went out the door when he reached for her chin in such a delicate gesture. “Well, I, well you know…” she babbled feeling very exposed in a strange sort of way. “Just well for stepping in I guess. Helping” She looked up at him once more at his face.
“Just, just forget about it,” he gruffed turning to walk away once more. Kagome reached out for his wrist that was attached to his still slightly bloody hand.
“Wait…I can at least bandage up your hand really.” Kagome yelled out before she even realized it. Inuyasha stopped turning back a glance at the fidgeting girl. He sighed. “You don't know much about demons do ya princess?”
Kagome shook head no. In all honesty, where she came from, demons had not really taken up resident as of yet. Her mother had informed her they were moving the nation's capital and explained it was where demons first began showing themselves freely to live alongside humans. But, this university was the first time she had really had contact with them.
Inuyasha held out his hand to her. Kagome looked at it confused. Inuyasha turned towards the fountain placing his hand in it scrubbing the contents of blood away. He turned towards Kagome once more holding out his hand.
She gasped. `What?' The marks were all gone like he had never cut his hand how was that even possible?
After her stare had exceeded what felt like a few minutes Inuyasha chuckled it was like she would not believe what she was seeing. “Kagome, demons healing ability is ten to twenty times fast than that of a human.” He reached out to brush her cheek once more as blood still ran down her cheek.
“Ten to twenty times faster,” she repeated almost mesmerized.
“I'll show you something.” He whispered almost in a seductive way. He raised him thumb to his mouth, bearing one of his razor sharp canines, he bit into his flesh drawing a little blood. He reached up to Kagome's face, which still held its shocked look, and rubbed his thumb across her wound before putting his thumb back into his mouth to rid it of the blood. After a good thirty seconds of cleaning the puncture and tasting her blood exotically mixed with his he once more held out his hand to her. “All gone.” He whispered. She took his hand examining it like she was a crime scene investigator working on a top case. “Go wash of your face Kagome.” He stated taking his hand from hers and crossing it across his chest.
Kagome walked over to the fountain and picked up some water washing her bleeding cheek. She felt around her cheek. “Huh, where is…” Kagome continued to rub her cheek to find the gash that was there but a few minutes ago. She looked into the water, once the ripples had stilled she caught I glimpse of her reflection which held no type of cut. `Wait, Inuyasha when he…' She thought back to when he took his bloody finger to her cheek. Kagome looked up at Inuyasha confusion swimming still in her eyes.
Inuyasha sighed shaking his head. She was so dense and so well just innocent. “I'm a lot different that you are Kagome.” He whispered turning around and taken a few steps. He turned his head slightly nodding at her. “Come on, I'm starving, being around you has made for a very eventful morning.”
