the Hanyou's eyes,
amber blades piercing her heart,
a lover's eyes,
all uncertainty banished.
doki, doki, doki,
the rhythm of the moment pulsing
in the thudding of her heart
in the redness of her face,
in the melting of her body
as she sat there,
drowning in his eyes,
scarcely remembering to breathe.

Her world shrank down to this,
a feverish bubble
lost in that borderland between What if and Completion.
Something within her stirred, tingled, fluttered
as his strong hand,
calloused,
capable,
commanding
pulled her ever closer.
