Amber is the color of your energy

 

 

 

 

Kagome has been cursed from the day she was born; because of her secret, most of the people who come to know her it fear or reject her. Will another who has experienced the same rejection help her as well as himself?

 

Raven hair flowed past Kagome's waist as she looked at the setting sun of Tokyo. Sighing, she turned from her apartment balcony and walked inside her house. Today had been hell, all afternoon Kagome had to deal with egotistic corporate suits, and she was beginning to wish she had never gotten into the business industry.

 

Kagome stared at her living room, looking for something to take her mind off the events that occurred earlier that day. Her apartment was simple yet stylish, she had a beige carpet and in the room was a black leather couch. Facing right in front of the TV was a medium sized silver flat screened TV that had a few random pictures on it. Across from the living room, a small kitchen resided with stainless steal pots and pans hanging everywhere.

 

The phone rang and snapped Kagome out of her searching; walking over to the kitchen, read the caller ID then answered the phone.

 

“Hey Sango, what's up?”

 

“Hi Kags! Can you buzz me up? I'm outside.”

 

“Okay… I'll see you in a little bit bye!”

 

She clicked off the phone and unlocked the door for Sango. “The door is open” Kagome shouted as she plopped down on the couch, she could already feel that Sango was going to bring trouble with her. Sango peeked her head through the door before coming in and locking the door behind her.

 

“Hey Kagome! Are you ready to go?” Sango was dressed in a sleeveless black V-neck dress that clung to her figure and had a angled hemline that started from her left knee to her right calf.

 

Kagome looked at Sango desperately trying to find out was she was supposed to be ready for, finally giving up she asked Sango. “Ready for what?”

 

“Kagome, how could you forget? We are supposed to be going to a party tonight…remember Mr.Inutashio's party? He is announcing the marriage of Sesshomaru and his fiancée.” Sango walked around to the other side of the couch glaring daggers at her `sister' for forgetting the party.

 

“Nope!” Kagome casually replied sinking down further into the couch, hiding her face behind one of her plush pillows.

 

“Kagome we are going to that party, even if I have to drag you there! Do you understand me?” Sango grabbed the pillow from Kagome, throwing it across the room before she started tugging at Kagome's hand to get her to move.

 

“I'm not going if `He' is there, forget it! I'm not going to leave this apartment if I don't have to.” Kagome nestled further into the couch tucking her hands under her stomach to keep Sango from pulling at them.

 

“Please Kagome will you go with me, I don't want to be by myself. Inuyasha probably won't even be there you said yourself that he didn't like his brother and it would also mean a lot to Sesshomaru, I know you two are good friends and……”

 

“Sesshomaru and I are not good friends' just acquaintances, the only thing we talk about is business there is no friendship in the word acquaintances….” Kagome lifted her head up and glared at Sango warning her not to say anything else on the matter. The truth was that she and Sesshomaru were kind of friends and would talk about things other than work from time to time but lately he had been avoiding her or would give her a cold stare when she tried to talk to him. So she really didn't feel like going to the `Ice prince' engagement party.

 

“Fine, but we are still going whether you like it or not.” Sango put her hands on her hips saying silently that she would not stop until Kagome got her butt off the couch and went to the party.

 

“Alright I'll go but only for you Sango, but if Inuyasha bothers me, I'm leaving!” Kagome got up from the couch making her way to her room to change. About 30 minutes later Kagome came out dressed in a deep blue dress that was cut off at the shoulder reveling some cleavage, the dress flared out at the bottom and on Kagome's neck was a simple silver necklace with a blue jewel in the middle, Kagome wore no make up because she liked her natural beauty. “Ok, I'm ready to go.”

 

Sango looked at Kagome with half lidded eyes as she looked her over, giving Kagome a smile of approval she lazily got up from the couch and walked to the door Kagome followed grabbing her keys and making her way out of the apartment `This is going to be a very long night'

`The Houshi Hotel'

 

Sango and Kagome arrived at the party 30 minuets later. Kagome groaned in frustration Sango had gossiped about every thing from the size of the ring the fiancée had, to the color of the table clothes. Kagome exited the car with a sigh and mentally prepared herself for the night.

 

“Kagome, hurry up or were going to miss the whole party!” Sango was already half way up the walkway. Kagome handed her keys to the valet. Giving the boy I hard glare that said not to touch a single thing in her 2004 silver BMW before she ran to catch up with Sango.

 

The two women entered the hotel and gasped at size, and splendor it held. The aroma of the lobby held the scent of fresh flowers. The lobby alone had smooth clean black marble tables, the gold railing shined, and the three chandeliers above their heads made room glow with radiance. Banners of gold and white hung from the ceiling and the walls had beautiful scenes of angels and water gardens; each had precise detail down to each flower petal. Maids could be seen running around busy making sure everything shined in perfection. Kagome was the first to snap out of her stupor, as a young man made their way towards them.

 

“Hello ladies, I see you are enjoying the scenery of my hotel. Its only the best in all of Japan!” He had on a deep purple three piece Armani suit that seemed to fit him with perfection. He had a handsome face and his black hair was slicked back into a small ponytail at the nape of his neck.

 

“Umm…you are?” Kagome asked wondering if he really owned the hotel they were standing in.

 

“Oh…I'm sorry, where are my manners? My name Is Miroku Houshi, owner of the Houshi hotel chains across the country.” Miroku said taking Kagome hand and kissing it softly.

 

A pink blush arose on Kagome cheeks when he did this, but she quickly responded him not wanting to be rude. “I'm Kagome Higarashi.”

 

“Pleased to meet you Kagome” Miroku turned to Sango and asked her name. Sango quickly stammered out her name in embarrassment, for gawking at the hotel for so long. Miroku kissed her hand and Sango blushed deeper than Kagome had.

 

“I have some business to attend to, so if you ladies will excuse me. I hope I will see you again.” Miroku winked at Sango before turning around and going trough one of the grand cherry wood doors.

 

Kagome stared at Sango, watching the blush on her face remain long after Miroku left. She grinned and decided to tease Sango a little. “Sango's got a crush! Sango's got a crush!”

 

“I do not have a crush, besides don't you think that's a little childish Kagome? Sango said putting her nose up defiantly.

“Yea …sure you don't Sango”

 

“Shut up Kagome, let's just go check in.” Sango grumbled, as she started walking towards the check in.

 

`This has turned out to be more fun then I expected.' Kagome thought as she flowed closely behind Sango.

 

They made there way to the sign in and after their names signed off they were each given a white flower as proof they belonged there. Stepping trough the doors Kagome and Sango found themselves in a huge ballroom decorated similar to the lobby. High class violin players gathered around a stage and started playing their first piece as couples dance slowly to the music. They went to the pour themselves some wine and that when Kagome spotted him, Inuyasha.
