Inuyasha stared at the torn up body of his enemy Naraku and thought,' It's over. Finally over.' He sheathed Tetsiga and walked over to his friends. Kagome stepped up to him and hugged him. When she finished, she side stepped him and walked to Naraku's body.

 

She picked up the last chunk of the jewel and thought, `The last jewel piece.'Naraku had ended Kouhaku's life during the battle to use the jewel shard embedded in his back to make him more powerful and to keep him alive. Kouga was here earlier during battle but had left after taking a blow to the legs causing him to lose his jewel shards that Kagome had picked up after he left. `Now we have the whole Sikon Jewel.'

 

Inuyasha stepped up next to Kagome listening to all the sounds his friends were making. Sango was crying over Kouhaku's lifeless body but half of her tears were of happiness that he had finally been freed. Shippo was behind her patting her back and whispering loving words even though he was on the brink of tears himself. Miroku wasn't making any sound, Just staring at his left hand were his wind tunnel used to be. He wouldn't lie; he was going to miss it. Miroku sighed and walked over to Sango to help Shippo with comforting her.

 

Inuyasha put a warm hand on her shoulder. She gasped at the sudden gesture. Then she started crying, the salty smell of her tears hitting him like a ton of bricks. She sniffled one last time and put all the jewels in her hands, covering them. A pink glow radiated from her hands transforming the jewel into one.

 

“Inuyasha you basterd! You killed my master! How dare you? Now you will pay for what you've done!” Kaugara yelled. Up until now she had been so shocked she hadn't said anything; she was just taking in everything.

 

Inuyasha immediately unsheathed Tetsiaga. He growled daring her to attack. He pushed Kagome behind his back roughly, shielding her from Kaugara.

 

Sango had stopped crying and took her boomerang off her back staring at Kaugara. Shippo had gone over to the newly transformed Kiara and jumped on her back as she swooped in the air. Miroku had gotten up and put his hand on his prayer beads ready to take them off to unleash his wind tunnel; too late he realized that it was gone and just took out some demon repealing scrolls.

 

Inuyasha growled even louder. `Why the hell is she doing this? Wasn't she the one who wanted so bad to be free of him? Did she change her mind? Whatever just finish her of already so you can use the jewel to bring Kikyo back to life.' Kikyo had died about a week before they battled Naraku. She told Inuyasha that she was tired of living in the land of the living and being dead. She also told him it was her own choice to finally go to heaven where she knew she belonged. She warned him not to bring her back to life if he got the whole jewel. She wanted to stay where she was. `The hell if she thinks I'll just leave her by herself; she knows I love her.'

 

“Dance of Blades!” Kaugara yelled waving her fan causing razor blades coming from no where. Inuyasha used Tetsiga to block all of her attacks as he ran to her to attack himself. When he got close enough he swung his sword but she easily side stepped his attack.

 

Kagome had moved from the spot he had put her in to go get her arrows. All the others were looking at her and watching what was going on but unable to help or they would hurt Inuyasha. Kaugara had also noticed that she moved and thought she could use that to her advantage.

 

Kagome almost had her hands on her arrows when Kaugara had attacked her with her Dance of Blades. It hit her full force and when it calmed down Miroku and Sango rushed over to her to see if she was ok.

 

“Kagome!” Inuyasha yelled staring at her body. The scent of her blood hit him with such a huge force that he stepped back a little.

 

Kaugara decided to get out of there while Inuyasha was still a half demon. She didn't want to be caught by his full demon side. She pulled the feather out of her hair and flew into the sky.

 

Inuyasha ran over to Kagome and asked, “Is she alive?” The look on their faces told him all he needed to know. Shippo and Kiara had landed next them and as Kiara transformed back Shippo ran over to Kagome only to be caught by a crying Sango. Inuyasha once again put his sword away and sank to the ground, tears in his eyes.

 

“Damn it you stupid girl! Why in the hell did you get up? You were safe! Kagome don't die! You can't die; we need you.” Inuyasha yelled letting a lone tear fall down his face. He was quick to wipe it away. He picked her up and started running as fast as he could towards the village with Miroku running behind him and Shippo and Sango on Kiara's back following him.

 

Inuyasha burst into Kaede's hut and quickly put the dead body of Kagome on one of the blankets. “Inuyasha, what has happened?” Kaede asked starting to pull out her medical supplies. “We killed Naraku and Kaugara started attacking us. Then she got Kagome with her Dance of Blades. Can you help her?” Inuyasha quickly went through his story looking at Kaede with pleading eyes. “I will try Inuyasha now leave this hut so I can do my work.” Kaede said calmly. She pushed him out the door and got to work on saving Kagome.

 

Outside Inuyasha was pacing waiting to see if Kagome was alright. Miroku and Sango with the other two finally got there. Inuyasha didn't want to talk so he leapt up in the tree closest to him and sat down trying to think. `What will I do if she is dead? This is all my fault, I should have kept my eyes on her or maybe none of this would have happened.' Suddenly the realization of his true feelings for Kagome hit him hard; he loved her. There was rarely ever a moment were he wasn't thinking about her or what she doing.

 

He sighed deeply. `What the hell was I thinking? I now know I don't love Kikyo.' His ears drooped.

 

He jumped out if the tree and walked over to Miroku and Sango. Shippo was in the hut crying for Kagome. “Miroku, Sango I'll be back later alright?” and without waiting for an answer he sped off.

 

“I wonder what that was about.” Sango said looking at Miroku. He just shrugged and they walked inside to how things were going.

Inuyasha was hot on the trail of his brother Sesshomaru.'Damn bastard brother of mine! Never around when you need him.'

 

“Ah, Inuyasha I thought I sensed you coming.” Sesshomaru said calmly.

 

“Sesshomaru! I need your help.” Inuyasha spat out.

 

“With what little brother?” Sesshomaru said still calm. Over the last year their relationship had grow to where they don't fight anymore but they were not that close.

 

“We killed Naraku. But his damn recarnation Kaugara started attack us and got Kagome. She's dieing; can you use Tensaga to help her?” Inuyasha quickly explained.

 

“I don't know Inuyasha; I don't know one good reason to help you.” Sesshomaru said not a crack of emotion on his face.

 

“Because I'm your brother and if don't I'll kill you.” Inuyasha knew he pushed his luck as soon as the words came out of his mouth. His relationship with his brother wasn't a very good one and one push could completely push it of the edge.

 

Sesshomaru looked at the defeated look on his brother's face. `He thinks he pushed too far doesn't he? Well I want this to work as much as he does so I guess I'll help him.' “Lead me to her.” He said instead.

 

The look on Inuyasha's face was priceless. His ears perked up and he started smiling. Sesshomaru smirked. `He must love that miko very much.' He thought.

 

“This way.” Inuyasha said running in the direction of Kaede's village. `Why the hell is he helping me? Is he scared of me? No that's not it. Maybe I just caught him in a good mood.'

Inuyasha and Sesshomaru burst into Kaede's hut. Everyone gasped. Inuyasha hadn't told them about his brother and him being nice to each other. `That's right I only told Kagome.'

 

“Everyone move!” Inuyasha yelled. Everyone scrambled away as Inuyasha and Sesshomaru walked forward. Sesshomaru unsheathed Tensagia and pointed at Kagome. He closed his eyes and summoned the demons of death that surrounded a dying body; in this case Kagome.

 

He swung his sword killing all the demons around her. Kagome's body laid still. `What? Oh no.' “She's too far gone.” Sesshomaru said a slight frown gracing his face.

 

Inuyasha's face turned ghostly white, “What?” he whispered. “She's too dead to be brought back; Inuyasha she's not breathing.” Sesshomaru said sheathing his sword again.

 

Inuyasha looked at the tear stained faces of all his friends. `She must have died a little while ago.' “No; that can't be true! You're lying!” He yelled rushing to Kagome even though he knew it was true; he couldn't smell any life on her.

 

He picked her up, shaking her slightly. Her head rolled back. He clutched her tight to his face as he cried into her shirt. He howled the lost of a loved one.

Well this is my first ever fanfic and I'm doing something special! I'm going to let you give me suggestions in how the story should go. I will not do any other pairings other than Inuyasha and Kagome and all the right ones. Not any of this Kagome with Naraku or Sesshomaru crap. But I will need 5 reviews before I add to this story. Just 5 though; that's not much right, RIGHT? Well please please please review! See ya!!!
