A/N: Ok, so this is an idea that came to me last night that I thought would be pretty cool. Completely different from what you're used to seeing so be forewarned, the characters are NOT like they are in the series. If I get some good reviews...lets say 5 reviews good or bad...I'll add another chapter. If not, I'll just pull this off and put it aside for something to work on later.
Standard disclaimer applies; I DO NOT own Inuyasha or any related characters. Although I really wish that I did. LOL

Chapter One
The First Assignment
“Please, please, I don’t want to die! I’ll pay you, you like money don’t you? Any amount you want, please just don’t kill me.” Stanley Hardson stammered as tears and sweat slid down his face and dripped from his chin. With the cool metal of a 9mm pressed firmly to his forehead, Stanley admitted to what Kagome already knew; he had killed her mother. Nine years ago, he had waltzed into her house and without even blinking put a bullet between her mother’s eyes, now it was time to return the favor. But as she stood there with the gun to his head, she found herself unable to pull the trigger.
Every thing had gone smoothly; she slipped into his office completely undetected, despite the tight security. She had managed to knock out both body guards and his assistant, and now she had him all to herself, for at least the next five minutes anyway. In five minutes time the patrolling security guard would find the three unconscious just outside the door. “Four minutes, thirty seconds.” Came a voice on the tiny ear piece. Her mentor was on the roof of the building across the street, watching the whole scene from the scope on her sniper rifle. But as the seconds ticked by found it became increasingly hard to breathe, let alone shoot him. “Four minutes, what are you waiting for?” The voice asked calmly.
Why couldn’t she be that calm, and why was there now a slight tremor in her hand? Damnit, it wasn’t supposed to go this way, it was supposed to be easy. Get in, get him to admit what he had done, end his life and then get out. Five minutes sure as hell seemed like plenty of time before, but now, it seemed all too short. “Three minutes. I know what’s going through your mind, just take a breath and do it. Pull the trigger and get out of there.” Her mentor’s voice was getting a little strained now. A bead of sweat slowly slid down her back sending a shiver through her body. Damn it was hot in here, making it was harder to breath through her mask. The thin black cotton fabric clung to her like a second skin, with her breathing coming in short spastic gasps; the fabric was effectively blocking her nostrils. She needed to get a hold of herself, needed to get a grip and get it over with.
“Two minutes, and you’ve got ten seconds to take the damn shot or I’ll do it for you.” There was no more patience left in her mentor’s voice. It was now or never, but she couldn’t breathe. Stanley had spent the last three minutes mumbling about money, cars, and expensive art works, everything that he was willing to give up that might save his life. But it was too late; there was nothing she wanted from him other than to see him dead. “Five seconds, move away now.” Came the voice again, damn that was getting annoying. Her mothers face flashed in her mind, lifeless and cold with a crimson hole between her eyes. Her eyes were dull and glassy from death, but her scream as Stanley pointed the gun in her direction played like a broken record in her mind. She closed her eyes to erase the image from her mind, and opened them again, there was no longer a tremor in her hand, and she would take the life of her mother’s killer. “No need, I’ll do it.” Kagome said flatly as she reached up and pulled her mask off. She heard her mentor’s screaming in the receiver as she pulled it from her ear. She wanted him to know who it was that had come to kill him, and wanted him to see exactly how much she was going to enjoy his death.
Stanley’s eyes widened with surprise when Kagome removed her mask, but the tiny speck of hope that glinted in his eyes quickly faded as recognition of the face above him sent him into another blubbering attempt at speaking. “Plea…please, I-I didn’t w-want…” Kagome raised a gloved finger from her free hand to her lips. “Shhh, that’s enough Stanley.” She said calmly and watched a glob of snot roll down from his nose and fresh tears fall from his face to his shirt. Straightening her back and standing as tall as she could she looked one last time into the eyes of her mother’s killer and pulled the trigger. Stanley’s body flinched as the bullet entered his skull, slumped, then fell forward, and landed on the expensive carpet with a dull thud. If Kagome had still been standing in front of him, he surely would have fallen into her. But she was already on her way out of his office when his body came to rest on the floor and the blood began pooling around his head. She stopped for just a moment before opening his office door to replace her earpiece and mask. “Good-bye Stanley.” She said quietly under her breath and slipped out the door to begin her escape.
