Summary:  A war is raging between the spiritual beings of earth.  Demons and Hanyou's of the land constantly fight between the Demon Exterminator's, Monks/Priests, and
Miko's of their lands.  When a jewel, known as the Shikon no Tama, thousands of years old is suddenly sensed, fate commands two of the strongest people on opposite sides of the war to meet.  The jewel is taken, an attraction forms, and a world of hate, despair, and misunderstandings, grow.

Prologue:  Meeting the Devil

Kagome crept silently through the halls of the shrine.  She was positive she'd sensed it.  The jewel, the soul object of all the tragedy and despair her world had been caused.  It was full of power, power that could be used for the good of mankind or the evils of man and demon alike.  It was her job, as the reincarnation of the jewels first protector to find it and keep it safe.  As safe as the life of a miko assassin fighting against thousands of demon's and hanyou's who wished to abuse the jewel's power.  Oh yeah, real safe.

The shrine was enormous, and ancient at that.  It was filled with antiques that, surprisingly enough hadn't been stolen by robbers and trespassers.  It was a wonder there were so many, they had to be close in age to the jewel, or that miko she was supposedly reincarnated from.  But what was more interesting was the giant tree resting outside the grounds.  It was as if it grew just so it could reach the heavens, a `God tree' she surmised, and then giggled at the thought.

When she rounded the corner she felt a sharp tug.  As she approached the dead end the feeling got stronger.  She felt the wall, and then knocked on it lightly.

`It's hollow?'  She thought to herself, and then she backed away slightly and brought her foot up to collide with the wall, effectively knocking it down.

What she didn't expect to see was an inu-hanyou holding the Shikon jewel in a clawed hand and a glare on his godly face.

She drew her sword from her scabbard, and prepared herself for combat.

“Who the fuck are you?”

Inuyasha had just finished dusting himself off after he busted through the roof of the shrine, he picked up the jewel and was about to make his getaway when suddenly the wall fell down behind him and some broad was there.  He expanded his youki and identified her as a miko.  A very hot, innocent, apparently strong, miko with an absolutely mouthwatering scent.  When she drew her sword and opened her mouth, he was intensely surprised.

“Who the fuck are you?”

She'd asked him.  He just stood there glaring at her, temporarily paralyzed by the shock of someone else having actually sensed the jewel, a human girl no less, and the fact that her scent was causing him minor blood rush down south.  As soon as he was semi-coherent he snarled viciously and pocketed the jewel, drawing his own sword soon after.

“I could ask you the same thing.”  He replied, eyeing the girl warily.

She took a fighting stance and smirked.  “Then I suppose you can call me tenshi.”

He took an exaggerated time looking her up and down, getting the desired effect of an angry spike in her scent as she noticed.  Tenshi indeed.

“Well Miss tenshi, I suppose I should inform you that you've just met the akuma.”

And thus, the clashing of a demonic sword versus a spiritually pure one began.
