Ok as for my other story Opportunity of a lifetime that is in the works. I was going over the story in my head of course and I realized that something I was going to do is not going to work so I changed it a little. I intended to add Kagome's friends to this story but then I realized that won't work either since I changed it from alternate univerise to continuation. So while I fix this whole mess I have created, you will be getting these one-shots/song-shots. Maybe in the future I will continue some of them but for right now I won't. Thanks everyone for reading my stories. Please review so I could know how I am doing. I want to know If I am getting better in my writing. Again thanks!

“Fox Fire!”

Every person in the village nearby could have heard the screams from the five as they each displayed their strength aiming straight for the hanyou at the same time as he was in the air surrounded in his barrier.

“Fools, you think you can defeat me!” screamed the evil hanyou with a cocky smirk on his face as he deflected each of their attacks.

“Damn! That's what you think!” screamed the other hanyou that was standing and looking up at his enemy. He wanted this to be over. He owed it to the dead miko, he owed it to his friends, and mostly he owed it to himself. He looked up and saw that cocky smirk on his face. Just his attitude made his blood boil. He could feel his demon blood inside of him over take his human side.

“Inuyasha, are you okay,” said the human miko as she walked closer to friend.

“Stay away,” he replied back with a growl that scared his friends as they just stood there and stared at the hanyou turning yokai.

“Naraku! This is the last day you will ever have those jewel chards. This will be the last day you will ever hurt anyone else including my friends!” screamed Inuyasha as his nails grew sharper, his hair longer, and as his eyes turns red. Now as a full yokai he turned his head towards Kagome and whispered, “Together we could defeat him. Don't be scared, trust me.”

“Right!” she replied back proudly. She looked up to Naraku and screamed, “Naraku, this has gone on for too long now. Today is the day you will die!”

“ADAMENT BARRAGE!!! HIT THE MARK!!!” was heard by the little fox demon, yokai slayer, and the monk.

“WHAT IS HAPPENING? IT CANNOT BE! I CANT BE DEFEATED BY INUYASHA AND THE HUMAN GIRL! NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!” screamed Naraku as he was ripped into pieces from the two extremely powerful attacks that were meant for him for such a long time.

“Finally; it is done,” whispered Kagome.

“Sango, look at my hand!” yelled Miroku excitedly as he uncovered his hand for the last time.

“Miroku! That's great! I wonder If Kohaku is…is…” said Sango as she was embraced by the monk.

“I am sure that he is alive and that one day we will see him again. I have a good feeling about it.”

“Do you really think so Miroku?”

“Sure, he needs to be in our wedding ceremony so he needs to be alive,” said Miroku as he cupped the slayers face.

“Oh, Miroku! I am so happy! Someday I know Kohaku will return to me; when he is ready,” said Sango as she pressed the side of her face onto Miroku's chest in which he rapped his arms around the woman he wanted to spend the rest of his life with and to finally have the child he always wanted.

“Inuyasha,” said Kagome as she turned towards him.

“Stay back,” said Inuyasha in a harsh tone.

“Inuyasha, what is the matter?”

“Stay back!” “I can't help it!” “Get away from here human!” “I can't help it Kagome, my demon side won't calm down. Run! Get away from me!” said Inuyasha in two different tones in his voice; one coming from his demon side and the other human. His fists were closed so tight that blood started to drip from his hands. His bangs were covering half of his face because he was looking at the ground and taking steps back away from his friends.

“Inuyasha, I could never leave you. Come back to me Inuyasha,” said Kagome in a mellow voice trying to calm his demon side.

I can't. I need to get away from here, away from Kagome. What if I hurt my friends? NO, I need to leave- thought Inuyasha as he tried to maintain his senses so he wouldn't hurt anyone.

And so he did. He didn't give it a second thought. Inuyasha turned around and ran in a speed that even Kagome thought wasn't possible. He ran right into the forest not knowing where his destination was but he knew it had to be anywhere not close to his friends, not close to Kagome.

He didn't know where he was going but still he jumped from tree branch to tree branch, from the ground to the rocks on the river that created a path to cross.

Leave me alone! Let me return to my normal hanyou self. I want to be with my friends, I want to be with Kagome, I want to finally live my life! - said his human side to himself.

Do you really think that now you defeated Naraku that you will be able to continue on with a normal life. You are just a filthy half breed. No one will accept you, you know that, you have tried it once and look what it got you! - said the demon side of him fighting with his human side.

I have Kagome! She will accept me no matter what! I have my friends. They told me with their own mouths that they trust me and accept me for who I am and THAT'S A HANYOU!

Your friends…Miroku and Sango are going to get married. Soon they will have their own family and will forget about you and the adventure you once had together. Kagome…do you really think Kagome will stay with you after everything you put her up with? She probably thinks that you are going off to Kikyo right now!

No she knows where my heart lies. I know she does.

Do you really think so?

I don't know now? Maybe?

He kept fighting within him. Even though he finally defeated Naraku so much was left undone, was left unsaid. As he once again jumped up into the tree he smelled a little village ahead. A village he was quite familiar with.

That is Kaede's village! You can't go there!

Are you giving me orders now! Remember I am the full demon!

But that is where Kaede lives. All of the villagers are finally accepting us.

So, who needs their acceptance? We can take what we want! Aren't you tired of that stupid, old Kaede?

His human side didn't even get to speak. He jumped across the remaining trees and onto the ground right in front of beginning of the village.

“Is that Inuyasha I sense? There is something different about his aura. What has changed, I wonder?” said Kaede as she finished the vegetable garden she was mending.

“Inuyasha, it has been a while since I seen thee. Where are the others? Are they not with thee?” said Kaede as she was approaching Inuyasha with a basket of Watercrees.

“Stupid, old Kaede, you ask too many questions but soon you won't be saying anything at all,” said Inuyasha as he jumped up high into the sky, right on top of Kaede.

“Inuyasha, what has come of thee!” screamed Kaede as she let go of the basket and surrounded herself with a purplish barrier.

“It seems that you still have some tricks up your sleeves old woman but can you protect the whole village!” screamed Inuyasha as he ran to the middle of the village and started to tear down the huts.

“Inuyasha, you musn't!” screamed Kaede right before she became silent again. I must save them! I must enlarge my barrier for the whole village or Inuyasha might kill us all!

Inuyasha ran to the center of the village and came across a hut that a little girl had just entered.

“Mama, Mama! Look at the pretty flowers I found!” said the little girl.

“That's beautiful Yuriko! AHHHHH!!!! What is happening! Husband! Husband!” screamed the mother as she grabbed her child and used her body as a shield.

“Woman, no man is able to stop me!” screamed Inuyasha from inside of the family's hut as hay and debris came down to the ground from the roof being cut into two because of Inuyasha's entrance.

“Maybe no man, but this old woman will!” screamed Kaede at the entrance of the hut. She raised her hands together and concentrated on her powers. With her palms outwards towards Inuyasha, she gave a scream and a purplish, huge beam came out of her hands aiming straight at Inuyasha.

“What the hell!” screamed Inuyasha as he was hit with Kaede's beam that pushed him out of the hut, his back hitting the hard hay, and landing on the ground, outside.

It was too much power for Kaede, she felt exhausted and landed on her knees with her palms on the floor breathing heavy. “Kaede-sama! Kaede-sama! Are you ok?” screamed the mother as she ran to Kaede.

“Yee mother, I will be alright. This old woman is getting too old for this.”

See, even Kaede defeated us in this state! Let me return to my regular self!- said Inuyasha to himself as he slowly got up. I need to get away from here!

“Are you ok, Inuyasha,” said the curious little girl as she walked up to Inuyasha.

“Yuriko, get away from him! He's dangerous!” screamed Yuriko's mother.

“No mama, he just seems scared. Are you scared Inuyasha-sama?”

Inuyasha didn't know what to say. The girl reminded him so much of Kagome. He could see the little girl walking up to him and he cautioned himself.

“Inuyasha, you don't have to be scared,” said the little girl as she came right in front of Inuyasha and kneeled down. Very slowly she raised her hand and touched his cheek. “Are you scared, here, you can have this if you want?”

Inuyasha just stared at the girl. Either she was really naive or very courageous for her age but as she presented the flowers to him and as he looked into her eyes he realized how wrong he has been. Kagome…- he whispered.

“Thank you,” he whispered to the girl and quickly stood up.

“Yuriko, get over here!”

“Coming mama!”

“I'm very sorry,” said Inuyasha. He looked around and realized that every villager was behind him with their weapons getting prepared for anything that might come at them.

“I will be leaving now,” said Inuyasha as he once again was looking at the ground and ran towards the forest.

I can never go back to the village, not after everything I have done. They will not accept me after this- he said to himself as he ran across the forest but this time it was different. He knew exactly were he was going this time. As he finally made it to his destination he slowed down and looked up. The sun was so bright and broken sun beams were coming from the sky touching the ground. He walked up to the one place he knew will always be, the one place that started his life, the one place that brought him peace because when he opened his eyes remembered seeing an angel; the Goshinboku. He turned his back to the old tree and sat on the roots and grassy floor.

“Once Kagome hears about this she will…she will…” he said out loud to him self as he could feel his eyes water up for the first time in a very long time.

“This has gotten into a big mess. Why now, after defeating Naraku did I have to lose control of my demon side. I guess the fates thought I wasn't worthy of happiness. Maybe it was me; maybe I lost faith in my friends. Kagome trusts me; maybe even loves me. I'm sorry Kikyo but I don't think I could follow you into hell.”

“I don't want you to go to hell with me,” said a voice from behind him.

Inuyasha stood up on the defensive mode, “Kikyo, what…how did you find me?”

“Inuyasha, I have always known where you were,” said Kikyo as she stood in front of Inuyasha.

“I'm sorry Kikyo, I can't keep my promise to you and follow you to hell. There is so much for me to do and there is…is,”

“I know Inuyasha. The relationship you have with Kagome is something I never had with you. You have my blessing.”

“Thank you Kikyo.”

“Thank you Inuyasha,” said Kikyo as she caressed his cheek and surprised him with a kiss. The kiss was sincere and short; it was more of a goodbye kiss then a lover's kiss.

As she let him go she flew into the air by her Shinidamachu and disappeared slowly, her spirit combining with the wind as she left with peace.

“INUYASHA! WHY DID YOU RUN AWAY FROM ME LIKE THAT! I WAS SO SCARED, I THOUGHT SOMETHING BAD HAPPENED TO YOU!” screamed Kagome from the opposite direction as she ran to him and without a minute hesitation SHE hugged him with all of her strength.

“Kagome! How did you find me!” said the shocked hanyou!

“Something told me to go back to Kaede's village. When I got there I found Kaede and she told me everything. I explained to them that it wasn't your fault and that something was wrong with you. They believed me Inuyasha.”

Inuyasha grabbed Kagome by the arms and pushed her away from him. He hated the feeling of her leaving him but he needed to. “Kagome, I DON'T know what is happening to me. I guess it was the thought that everything was coming to an end and that…that I might…I might lose my friends.”

“Inuyasha, we could never leave you. Miroku and Sango are still searching for you, so as Shippo and Kirara. We were all worried when you turned on us and left. Is that why you couldn't control your demon side anymore? Were you afraid that they were going to leave you?”

“Yes and no. What I was worried about the most was…was…”

“Was what?”

“YOU leaving me; now that Naraku is gone and we have the complete jewel I was afraid that you would want to go home and stay there permanently. You should, it's a lot safer for you, and your family is there.”

“Stupid Inuyasha! Don't you get it by now! I LOVE YOU! You are my family now. You, Shippo, Kirara, Miroku, and Sango are my family now. I could never leave anyone of you after everything we have been through.”

“Kagome,” said Inuyasha in a whisper as he once again grabbed her by the arms, this time more gentle, and pushed her into him and gave her a kiss. Instead, unlike the kiss he shared with Kikyo, this kiss contained passion, heat, urgency, love. He wanted to express how much he loves her because just saying those simple three words was much harder to say. After a couple of minutes of expressing their love to each other they needed air and separated. Kagome tugged herself closer to Inuyasha's chest.

“Thank you Kagome, thank you for waking me up from this nightmare. For such a long time now I thought I would always be alone; that I deserved to be alone. You proved me otherwise. You make me feel loved and I haven't felt that for such a long time. You have opened a new world for me. Kagome, will you be with me for the rest of our lives; will you be my mate?”

“Oh Inuyasha you have made me so happy! Of course I will be your mate. I accept all of you; your bright side and your dark side. You are not just a half human or a half demon but Inuyasha. I wouldn't have it any other way.”

“I love you Kagome…don't ever forget that. Even though I still have this animal side of me I will always know that I have somebody that loves me. I might act hard-headed, stupid, selfish, and arrogant but you will always know the real me. I don't care what other people think of me as long as I have you. You will make me the better person I know I will become.”

“Oh Inuyasha, together we will be happy and start a new life. I will always love you and we will be happy and enjoy life like we were supposed to with our friends. Come on, lets go back to the village, Kaede is waiting for you and we need to tell Miroku and Sango the good news,” said Kagome as she grabbed his hand and led the way to the village but at that moment Inuyasha pushed her back into his arms to give her one more passionate kiss before they lose their privacy.

Inuyasha walked back with Kagome, hands holding hands, as they reached their village. As they came out of the clearing of the woods Kaede saw them walking back to the village.

“So Inuyasha, you have returned to thyself. Are thee well again?” said Kaede as the new couple walked up to the old miko.

“Yeah Kaede, everything is ok now. Sorry about the mess,” Inuyasha apologized to Kaede until he heard a small voice coming from behind Kaede.

“Inuyasha-sama! Inuyasha-sama! You have returned! Are you ok Inuyasha-sama?” said Yuriko as she ran up to Inuyasha and stopped right in front of him only coming up to his stomach.

“Yeah kid, I'm ok. I'm back for good, now. Nobody ain't going to get rid of me that easily!” said Inuyasha as he squeezed his would-be mate and smiled down to the kid.
