Chapter 1

The First Day

“Now,” the principle began in a wise and gentle voice “I would like to know why you decided to transfer to our school when you have to drive quite a while to get here.” She asked the rather quiet girl. “I transferred to this school, Kaede-san, because my sister goes here. I'll be moving in with her this afternoon.” “Really? I thought you looked familiar. What is your sister's name?”

“Sora Shinohara, you can't really tell but we are supposed to be identical twins.”

“I wouldn't know. Tachikawa-san has never had to come to my office.” She smiled at the girl. “Well I can see you are a nice girl, and you need to get your schedule from my secretary. You should hurry or you'll be late.”

“Thank you, Kaede-san” The girl stood up and bowed before existing the office. She got her schedule and a map, before heading to the classroom that would be her place of learning for the next year.

Sora Shinohara was a kitsune hanyou. Her long-sleeved, red blouse with a matching black ankle-length skirt would have brought out the blue in her eyes if her loosely braided hair hadn't hidden her face. The two fuzzy black ears on the top of her head twitched and her black, fluffy tail was curled next to her desk.

Her grey-blue eyes searched the nearly empty room only to widen when she saw Kagura Takeuchi making their way to her desk. The kaze youkai wore a short red skirt and a white clingy shirt that said “#1 Brat” in large pink letters.

“Sora-san,” Kagura gave her a cruel smile. “Did you do my homework like I asked you to?” “Yes, I have it right here.” Sora reached into her bag and pulled out a few papers. She gave them to Kagura, who took them and `accidentally' knocked everything off Sora's desk. As she collected her things she heard the class laughing at her.

`Why can't I stand up for myself?' Humiliated, Sora gathered her things and put them on her desk. As the late bell rang the teacher came in with a girl behind her. The girl wore a tight black shirt that said “Bite Me” in red letters, and her baggy black pants dragged slightly on the floor.

Her waist-length black hair was braided and had dark blue high-lights in it. Two large black ears sprouted from the top of her head and a long black tail trailed behind her. She had a small smile on her face as she surveyed the room of junior high school students.

“Class I would like to you to meet our new student, Amaya Tachikawa.” Sora looked up into the stormy blue eyes of her elder sister as she waved to the class. “Would you like to say something about yourself?”

“Well, I'm a kitsune hanyou and I have a little sister who goes here. I don't have anything else to say Inago-sensei.”

“Alright, please take a seat next to Inuyasha Taicho. Taicho-san, raise your hand please.” A boy with long white hair raised his hand, he handsome in a boyish way. He wore a red shirt and black jeans, and had warm amber colored eyes. But, what caught her gaze were the two cute dog ears on the top of his head.

A sense of kinship bloomed in her heart she could feel it, he was a hanyou. `Maybe we can be friends?' She thought to herself that is until he opened his mouth, “Oi, what the hell are you staring at?” `Or maybe not' “Nothing much apparently,” she smiled at him and took her seat.

“Now today we will be going over the Miko Revolution of the last years of the Feudal Era…” The teacher began the lesson, but Amaya wasn't really paying attention anymore. She could feel Inuyasha's anger, but she ignored that too. Instead she watched Sora who would glance at Amaya every so often.

*Onee-san?* a voice whispered hesitantly in the back of Amaya's mind. *Hiya, imouto-chan, how's it been?* she called back opening the telepathic link to Sora wider. *What in the world are you doing in my school?* *I'll explain at lunchtime I promise*

Sora nodded, seemingly to herself, before cutting off the link and once again paying attention to class. Amaya smiled at nothing in particular. `Lunch will be interesting,' she thought to her self before drifting into a quiet day dream.

(AN) Well greetings and salutations my surely non-existent readers. This is your author speaking. It would make me feel like someone is actually reading this if you were to review, but if you don't have the time or just don't want to that's okay too. Well this is the first Inuyasha fan fiction I have actually typed and posted. So try not to be a mean reviewer, and flame me for, um, well stuff.
