Kagome scanned the room as she lay awake and restless. Sango, Shippou, and Miroku were sleeping silently. She sat up and thought of her weary companions misfortunes. They had all lost loved ones including Inu Yasha. She felt young and naïve having suffered little pain. Kagome climbed through the window and sat on the roof near Inu Yasha. She could not help but think about what Inu Yasha had to struggle with.

He lost his Kikyo and she continues to haunt him. He said there is no moment when he does not think of her. Where do I belong in his life? I have no claim to him but…

A rustling in the leaves stirs Inu Yasha and Kagome retreats to the room. Inu Yasha bursts in and awakens everyone.

-I smell demon. Be ready, it ain't here to play patty cake.

They headed out ready to slaughter a demon.

A female cat demon leapt out and grabbed Kagome. Her razor sharp, claws edged across Kagome's neck.

-Inu Yasha, come any closer and the girl is dead.

-Seiya? Let her go! Kagome!

-Inu Yasha, I see you remember…50 years since I have caressed this face. Seiya caressed Inu Yasha's face and his eyes glazed over. He stood still and silent.

-Aaah you have forgotten my little trick nonetheless. Miroku and Sango move to help Inu Yasha. Oh he won't be able to move for a while. Well me and this charming young lady have to get going. Seiya puts Kagome under a trance and puts her on her back. She then begins to make a high jump to retreat. Miroku goes to stop her but is stopped by Sango.

-It's no use. You will suffer the same fate as Inu Yasha. Meoga the flea appears suddenly on Kilala's back. Shippou is the first to notice him.

-Meoga do you know who this Seiya is and how we can save Kagome?

-Actually Shippou I do. Seiya and Inu Yasha were childhood friends. Seiya is also a half demon but she was exiled from her tribe and Inu Yasha's mother took her in. Sesshomarou and his father had a long term fight with Seiya's tribe and Sesshomarou tried to gain her affection to end the feud and gain control over both families after his father's death. Before he made any attempts Inu Yasha and Seiya fell in love. I guess you could say it was a true puppy love that they had. Inu Yasha was a more trusting and loving person when his mother was alive and he had room in his heart for Seiya. Sesshomarou actually fell in love with Seiya and her irresistible beauty. His rage against Inu Yasha increased and they were constantly battling. To make even more conflict Seiya tribe hated her even more now that she was mates with a half demon. Seiya left Inu Yasha because her tribe was dying and needed her. She also convinced Sesshomarou to leave Inu Yasha alone for 60 years. Inu Yasha did not understand and he flew off convinced to become a full-fledged demon so he could defeat his brother and reclaim Seiya. He thought she wanted a higher ranked demon and then well you know the rest of the story. She has constantly kept an eye on Inu Yasha but I have no idea why she has felt the need to reappear nor why she has taken Kagome. Go ask Kaede to help you cure him.

They took Inu Yasha to Kaede's hut and hoped for the best. She told them she knew how to help and mixed up a special elixir to awaken Inu Yasha.

-Inu Yasha will be awakened in one hour. Ye should not move him until then.

An hour passes and a startled Inu Yasha awakens.

-Whaaa…whaat happened? Miroku explains to the confused hanyou.

-Your good old friend Seiya showed up. She was quite angry and has now taken Kagome.

-I don't why Seiya do this! Enraged, Inu Yasha disrupts a table and some dishes crash on the floor.

-Inu Yasha do not waste your energy here. Kagome will be fine. You must leave at once. Here is more elixir, you might need it.

They headed out following Seiya's trail. Inu Yasha carries Sango on his back and Miroku runs steadily beside them. Inu Yasha puts Sango down when they arrive at a deep dark cavern.

-They're in there. I'd know Kagome's scent anywhere.

-Inu Yasha, we need to have a plan before we run in and… Miroku stops as they watch Inu Yasha rush into the cavern.

-Inu Yasha, I knew you'd come after this girl. Seiya stepped out from the shadows deep within the cavern.

-Seiya why are you trying to hurt Kagome? What have I done to piss you off?

-Inu Yasha don't pretend you don't remember! I, who tried to protect you from your own half-brother, if you haven't noticed Sesshomarou hasn't come after you in a while. That is only because I have diverted his attacks.

-Seiya I never knew about any of that but why did you attack us and take Kagome?

- You attacked me Inu Yasha! Do not act as though you do not know where these scars come from! She lifts her shirt revealing deep gashes in her abdomen.

-I don't know what you are talking about Seiya. Miroku intervenes.

-I think she has had the misfortune of encountering our foe Naraku.

-Yeah Miroku is right Seiya. Listen to me, there is this evil demon who-

-Inu Yasha I will not believe these lies! I will avenge my father's death! You killed him and said that you hated humans and no longer wanted to be a hanyou or ever be near one. I won't allow you to find the shikon jewel!

Seiya sets Kagome down and hisses at Inu Yasha. She extends her claws and grasps his neck. Sango sprays a mist in Seiya's unprotected ears. Seiya falls down to the ground unconscious.

-What the hell was that! I hope didn't kill her.

-Don't worry Inu Yasha; it is a simple sleep suppressant that I concocted from my own remedies.

Miroku attempts to awaken Kagome and is successful.

-Kagome is awake now lets go back to Kaede's hut. He is right. Sango you both carry Kagome to Kilala and I'll carry Seiya.

They went to Kaede's and Seiya was revived but still heavily sedated. Inu Yasha sat beside her and tried to explain.

-Seiya, Naraku is an evil shape shifting demon. He wants the power of the shikon jewel and will manipulate anyone to get to it. He has deceived everyone here including probably you. Seiya caresses Inu Yasha's face lovingly.

-Oh Inu Yasha. Do you think I am a fool? I won't accept your lies!

-Inu Yasha does not lie child.

-Oh Kaede I have missed you! You were such a young child wandering in the demons' forest. I had so much fun teaching you to take care of yourself and playing games with you. She embraces the elderly woman.

-Ay child. I have missed thee so! But that was such a long time ago. I am not that young child ye once knew. I am an old miko now. Please believe me, Naraku is a dangerous foe so do not feud with Inu Yasha.

-Kaede I believe you but I do not know what to do now. Can I have some time alone?

-Ye can go to the shrine outside whilst I tend to Inu Yasha. Kaede goes to help Inu Yasha while Seiya heads outside.

I suppose I can believe Inu Yasha's story, but what should I do? Chase this Naraku character? And what of my feelings for Inu Yasha? I still love him, am I supposed to forget about it and just move on? Oh father if you were here to guide!

Seiya sits silent and still for about an hour then she heads back inside. She gets ready to tell Inu Yasha her final decision.

-Inu Yasha, I have decided I will join your group in your quest to hunt down Naraku.

-Fine. Does that mean we can finally start looking for some damn shards? All we've been doing is helping people and we need some important fights that actually mean anything and….Kagome interrupts Inu Yasha.

-SIT!! Inu Yasha falls harshly to the ground making an indention. Inu Yasha stop being so rude! Sorry Seiya, You'll get used to it. It just means he likes you. The party leaves Shippou, Kilala, and Kaede and head of back on their quest.

Seiya lay shivering on the cold ground attempting to sleep. Inu Yasha throws a warm cotton blanket on top of her.

-We don't want you to freeze to death so get under the blanket.

-Thanks a lot.

Seiya still couldn't fall asleep and she laid awake in the dark. She got up and quickly looked over her surroundings. Kilala was guarding Shippuo and Sango while Miroku guarded the cave's entrance. It seemed as though Inu Yasha was always awake trying to protect everyone. Seiya had continued to have the nightmares when she did sleep so she was actually glad to have a night free of them. Seiya wondered outside and sat by the lake watching the stars in the beautiful dark sky.

Inu Yasha didn't know how to express his feelings anymore. Unfortunately the day after the group left Kaede's they ran into Kikyo. She managed to try and kill them all but her attack was mainly directed at Kagome. There would always be a place in his heart for Kikyo but he no longer loved her. He was still unsure of Kagome's feelings for him and now Seiya became an added pressure. He thought that he had finally gotten over the loss of his first love but when they kissed that night he felt the old flame burning deep inside him. He didn't know what to do and was slightly caught off guard when he saw Seiya bathing in the lake.

-INU YASHA!!!! Why are you spying on me? If you have something to say, come and face me.

-I'm sorry. Damn it, I always come here to check for demons, I wasn't trying to look at…

-Just shut up, do you need anything else? If not let me be.

-Seiya, um... about the other night…

I didn't think he would bring it up first. What should I say?

-It was a mistake! Lets just not talk about it. Seiya growled with a note of fear in her voice.

-But Seiya…

-Forget OK!

-Alright whatever you say. Inu Yasha heads out to survey the rest of the area.

Kagome and the others awaken to a silent male hanyou and a restless female hanyou. Somehow Inu Yasha ended up lying by Seiya and holding her close. Kagome feels left out of his life again and decides to go home.

Kaede teaches Kagome how to bring others with her back home besides Inu Yasha. Seiya heads off with Inu Yasha and Sango while Miroku accompanies Kagome. Sango hugs Miroku tightly.

-Be safe. Miroku's hand begins to go below Sango's back and Kagome motions for him to stop.

-Why are you guys so friendly all of a sudden?

-Why Inu Yasha I thought you would have caught on, with your great intelligence. Sango is allowing me to court her. I may have a mother for my child yet!

-Oh Miroku! Well I guess you would have found out anyway. We are not as serious as Miroku says yet but I hope we will be. She kisses him briefly.

- Anyway, bye Kagome.

-Bye everyone.

Inu Yasha and Seiya run side by side while Sango rides Kilala. They head off to a village that has an extremely ferocious youkai which may have two shards of the shikon jewel. At there arrival they are offered compensation but they refuse. Inu Yasha heads of alone at first. He approaches the castle ruins where the youkai is supposedly in hiding.

Inu Yasha doesn't notice that Seiya is following close behind him because his mind is so preoccupied. He jumps at his usual fast pace and uses his nose to trace the youkai's scent. A very large kame youkai lies guarding the entrance to what is left of the castle. Inu Yasha waits ready to attack. Seiya leaps out of the shrubbery and slashes the youkai with her double edged fan swords. The Youkai is completely destroyed and Inu Yasha is immobilized by surprise.

-Seiya! I could have handled it alone. That was lucky next time you might get killed.

-Oh Inu Yasha are you begging for the next time for it to be you? Well I have been in training for oh about 50 years longer than you. Just because we neikos seem young doesn't mean I'm naïve and inexperienced.

-Sorry. Well look I have been looking for the shikon jewel shards for a long while now and I will be the first to get my revenge on Naraku. Enraged they both growl and lunge at each other. Seiya knocks Inu Yasha over falling straight on top of him. Beads of sweat drip down her face dampening Inu Yasha's red top. He caresses her faces and slowly pulls her towards him. She gently nuzzles his ear and playfully growls. Their bodies seem to gravitate towards each other. Inu Yasha makes the first move and softly graces her lips with his own. She takes her first sweet taste of his mouth and he responds slipping his tongue in between her tantalizing lips. They here a branch snap and quickly leap into defensive mode. Sango arrives along with Kilala.

-Inu Yasha it seems you do not need my help after all. The demon is defeated and we must move on quickly.

-Right. Come on Seiya lets go. Seiya walks towards the rest of the group in a daze. Was that real? I thought that Inu Yasha felt those feelings only as a child… He is with Kagome. I am not sure what to think and now I am much more confused.
