InuYasha Fan Fiction ❯ Anxiety ❯ Kyasha's birthday ( Chapter 14 )
[ P - Pre-Teen ]
+++Chapter 14+++
++Kyasha's birthday++
`This is all manual labor…' Kyasha thought to herself as she carried a huge sack for an elderly woman in the village.
“Thank you hanyou, I can't tell you…how much this means.” The woman gave her, her gratitude. Kyasha nodded, not knowing exactly what to say to the compliment.
Kyasha sighed as she tossed the sack onto the counter then left the hut. Inuyasha said it was `training' but Kyasha was starting to think this was a way of getting himself out of his old chores and passing them down to his daughter, claiming it to be training.
`Fat chance…' She told herself again as she neared her father for another `task' to do for the day. She felt disgusting; sweat from the brutal heat covered her hakama Sango had designed. She completely ruined her t-shirt when she had fallen into a puddle of mud when fixing the roof of another old hut that she would have been happy seeing it burn into the ground. Kyasha had fallen off the roof and landed face first into the puddle, adding another delightful moment to her all-so-great day.
“Kyasha, you're back!” Daitan cried as he ran to her.
“No Dai, not now! No!” Kyasha cried as her little brother slammed into her and from lack of energy, plowed into the ground, hurting her bruises from other `tasks' she had done earlier.
“So, what do you want to do?” He asked.
“Papa's not done with me yet, maybe later bud.” Kyasha huffed as she pushed him off and stood up.
“Kyasha you look horrible.” Kagome gasped as she got a good look at the muddy hanyou on her way into the hut.
“Thanks Mama…” Kyasha sighed sarcastically.
“Your hakama is in tatters, and your shirt is never going to be white again.” Kagome pointed out as she walked up to her kids. “Let me get that for you, I'll wash it while you go get something else to wear.”
“No Mama, it's alright. The old man ain't done with me.” Kyasha stated as she saw Inuyasha come up from the forest clearing.
“Well, me and Daitan are going through the well, you two follow later, alright?” Kagome suggested as she grabbed Daitan and walked to the well to see her Mom.
Kyasha sighed. It seemed that everyone had forgotten what today was. `Maybe they aren't as different as my old family…they'll forget about me…eventually.'
“Oi, Kyasha get over here!” She heard her father call. Kyasha huffed and ran over to where he was. “You finished?”
“Yeah, I delivered the sack, now what?” Kyasha grimaced as she heard a large box drop behind her. She slowly, and hesitantly, turned around and saw Miroku standing there with a few boxes of animal feed.
“You have got to be kidding me?”
“Nope, I want all those boxes moved to the other side of the village…oh and Kyasha?” Inuyasha asked.
“Yeah?”
“You might want to have a bath afterwards.” He snickered as he left her to her work. Kyasha growled and lifted one of the boxes as she made her trail through the village.

“Kagome I'm so glad to see you.” Mrs. Higurashi smiled as she saw her daughter and grandson walk into the room. “And Daitan, you're getting to be a fine man.”
“Mama, I need you to help me.” Kagome whispered.
“Oh, on what?”
Kagome nudged Daitan to leave, which he did, slowly. Daitan ran upstairs. While he was here, he borrowed his Uncle Souta's old room. He had left his old play station set, which he loved playing.
Daitan sat quietly, playing another racing game as he waited for his mother to be finished talking with grandma.
“Daitan, time to come down stairs. Kyasha and Papa are on their way.” Kagome cried. Daitan slammed his finger on the power button and ran downstairs.

“All done.” Inuyasha proclaimed.
“You know, that is my favorite word now….” Kyasha trailed off as she slammed onto the ground in the hut. Miroku and Sango were sitting there, watching the poor, exhausted hanyou sit up.
“Chansu, Hanna, come in please!” Sango called. The kids came running in and sat down on either side of Kyasha.
“What's this all about?” She asked.
“You didn't think we'd forget, did you?” Sango chuckled. Just then, the two human children wrapped their arms around Kyasha's neck and Hanna giggled,
“There, Happy birthday Kyasha!” The girl cried. Kyasha looked down, on her neck; lying on her neck was a small necklace. It had a simple golden string, and resting on her chest was a small, emerald stone.
“Oh, it's beautiful.” Kyasha gasped as she picked it up to examine it.
“Come on, your mother and Daitan have a present for you at home.” Inuyasha smirked.
“Thank you guys so much, it's amazing.” Kyasha smiled as she left the hut with her father. “So why'd you make me do manual labor on my birthday?”
“Well it was mostly to get you out of my hair….” He trailed off when he felt a fist in his back. He smirked, “But it was mostly for training.”
“Well…thanks…it means a lot to me that you guys actually remembered my birthday.”
“Oh don't worry about us forgetting. Your mother has a knack for remembering those kinds of things.” Inuyasha chuckled. “I mean, she even remembered the anniversary to when she fell threw the well and broke the seal on me.”
Kyasha giggled as they hopped into the well.
“Oh, I've gotta change…I'm still disgusting.”

“Happy birthday!” Everyone screamed as the two hanyous walked in.
“Thank you guys.” Kyasha smiled.
“Hurry up, open your presents!” Daitan cried.
“Okay, okay, don't rush me, my arms still hurt.” She laughed. Kagome walked over with a small package.
“Here, this is from me, Daitan, your father, and a little help from Sango.” Kagoe giggled. Kyasha looked at the box.
“Open it already, it won't bite.” Inuyasha grumbled. Kyasha took a deep breath and pulled on the top of the box. There was tissue paper covering the present. Kyasha didn't take anymore time, she as she ripped the paper away. All she saw was green, forest green.
“What is it?” Kyasha said hesitantly pulling out the cloth.
“It's a hakama. I did some research and found out you're…” Kagome trailed off.
“My ceremonial color…how'd you know?” Kyasha cut in.
“You know your color?” Inuyasha asked.
“Yeah, Myouga told me, he said that my ceremonial color is forest green.” Kyasha giggled. “Can I go try it on?”
“Yeah go for it.” Kagome smiled. Kyasha ran out of the room. “I also found out that Daitan's color is gold.”
“Oh cool, gold!” Daitan shouted.
“Yup, I'm making you a hakama that very color for you, I just had to hurry and finish Kyasha's by her birthday.” Kagome giggled.
“How do I look?” Kyasha hopped down the stairs. Her green hakama hung loosely around her hips, and she had her silver hair tied back into a high ponytail. She was also wearing her favorite white tank top.
“You look great!” Daitan giggled. “Like a green warrior.”
“Uhh…thanks.” Kyasha smiled at her brother's analogy.
A knock at the door brought everyone's attention back. Kagome walked over and opened it up,
“Sesshoumaru?” she whispered.
“I have come for Kyasha…” He stated coldly as he walked into the house.
“Why the fuck do you want her?” Inuyasha growled.
“You are welcome to come dear brother, but no one else…” Sesshoumaru glared at the other members in the room. “Understand?” He asked as he turned and walked out of the house. “Come Kyasha…Inuyasha.”
“Come on Kyasha, Kagome…don't follow.” Inuyasha sighed as he followed his brother out the door. Kyasha wasn't too far behind them.
“Papa, what does he want?” She asked.
“I don't know, but he ain't laying a finger on you, don't worry.” He said as he pushed Kyasha behind him protectively.
“Come on, we must leave for my mansion, you may ride with me in the limo, or meet me there.” Sesshoumaru stated. “You're decision.”
“We'll meet you there.” He grabbed Kyasha's hand and they left for the mansion by foot.

“Father, will they be here soon?” Takaromaru asked as he saw Sesshoumaru walk in the door.
“They should be here any minute, tell them I'll be in the back.” He blurted as he breezed past his son and headed for the backyard.
“Yes father…” Takaromaru trailed off. Just then, the door slammed open. “Nice to see you again Uncle Inuyasha and Kyasha.”
“Where's the bastard?” Inuyasha growled.
“He told me to tell you he'd be in the back, you may lead yourself there.” Then the silver-haired boy left the two hanyous in the lobby.
“Let's go then.” Kyasha stated. Inuyasha led the way, knowing all the little dead ends and turns to take. Inuyasha pushed open a door and Kyasha gasped. The door led to a huge field, covered in green grass, a few trees here and there.
“You made it Inuyasha…please come here.” Sesshoumaru calmly stated.
“What do you want?” Inuyasha growled.
“Don't rush Lord Inuyasha….” Both hanyous were caught off guard by the new voice.
“Myouga? What the hell are you doing here?” Inuyasha growled.
“I am here with Sesshoumaru to give Kyasha her birthday gift.” Kyasha looked up at the sound of her name.
“My…gift?” She repeated.
Sesshoumaru turned and walked over to a small table. Kyasha finally noticed a long box on top. Her uncle picked up the box and brought it over to the hanyou girl.
“Take it.” Myouga stated. Kyasha hesitantly took the box and sat down with it on the ground.
“It's not going to kill me, is it?” Kyasha asked.
No on answered as she slowly pulled the top of the box up, there was a lot of issue paper, but Kyasha easily got rid of it. She let out a gasp,
“Are you kidding?” She asked.
“What is it?” Inuyasha asked. Kyasha stood up with the present in hand, “Holy…shit.” Inuyasha was shocked.
“A…sword?” Kyasha trailed off.
