I DONT OWN INUYASHA...OR ANY OF THE CHARACTERS...BUT I DO OWN KEINAHRA
**The Promise**
As fate would have it, and as luck would want it, this was just NOT her day. It was late, way after sunset, and she was traveling again after spending the past few days in Edo for her 21st birthday. But attracting bad luck seemed to be something Keinahra had a nack for. She was about an hour away from the hot springs she frequently visited when she was jumped by several bandits.
Kuso, how could I let myself to get so distracted. I didn't even sense them nearby. This is definitely NOT something I enjoy, especially not when I'am already sooo dead tired. I just wanted to have a peaceful birthda.....
She didn't even have time to finish her thoughts before they pounced. Thinking and moving quickly she pulled out her swords and blocked an attack aimed for her throat. But allas she wasn't quick enough as a swords blade went into her back right next to the juncture where her left wing would have been, if she wasn't concealing herself that is. Rolling forward and turning in the process she yanked the sword from her back and sliced of the offenders legs right below the knees.
One down, 8 to go.
She was down to about four more when another stuck a dagger into her abdomen. With lightning fast reflexes she pulled it out and tossed at the bandit and it hit its target true. Right between the eyes. Now covered in blood she cannot hold her illusion any longer. And all she heard was...
"DEMON!!!!!!!!!! We must kill her quick, she must be tireing in order to drop that illusion."
Oh, just great, you just love toying with me don't you Kami-sama?
Talking with a growling voice, "Don't flatter yourselves, I just got tired of holding it. Now to finish this."
And with that she quickened her pace and beheaded the rest in only a few simple turns. Leaving the battle ground, she continues onto the spring for a, sniff sniff, MUCH needed bath. As she enters the clearing to the spring she places her pack on the ground to get out a hair and body soaps. Right when she is about to finish undressing to step into the water she senses a young girl heading her way, and puts her illusion back on just in time.
"Ohayou, little one, what are you doing out here so late and by yourself?"
Shocked to find someone else already at the springs she replies. "Ohayou, Rin is here to take a bath. And I am not alone. My Lord's servant ordered me to take a bath before My Lord himself returned to camp. What is your name pretty lady?"
Sensing no trouble coming from the young one called Rin she tells her her true name, while stepping into the hot springs. "My name is Keinahra, if you would like, I have some nice smelling soaps that you may use. I can also wash your hair too."
"Hai Rin would like that very much. Arigato Keinahra-chan."
"So Rin-chan, how old are you?"
"Ummm, I believe I will be 15 summers come next week." Rin said while leaning back to let Keinahra wash her hair.
"Ohh, wow, my sister would be around your age now. I myself have just turned 21 today. I think it is nice that I can have some company today." She said as she started to wash her own hair.
"Ummmm, if you don't mind, why is there blood all over your kimono?"
"Well Rin-chan, on my way here bandits attacked me. I believe that bandits are much much worse than demons. I do not know how you feel about it, but that is what I think."
"Hai, I agree, my family was killed in front of me when I was very young. I was alone for a year or two, but then My Lord took me under his care. I have been with him ever since. You said you had a sister around my age? Where is she?"
"That is so very nice of him. Hai, I had a sister around your age, a had two others as well. But my family was also slain by the evil hanyou, known as..."
"Naraku, My Lord and his brother and his brother's friends destroyed him."
Wide-eyed, "Rin-chan, you mean your Lord is Sesshomaru-sama?"
"Hai, why do you ask, do you know him?"
Now sinsing his presence she steps out and asks, "Well I have heard of him. But can you do me a few favors?"
Walking out to get dressed as well, "What are they Keinahra-chan?"
"One call me Keinah, and if your Lord asks who you were with just say Keinah. Two, never ever mention my true name infront of anyone unless it is a dire emergency. And the last favor is, can you please wrap my wounds for me?"
"I will do just that Keinah-chan." replied Rin as she finished wrapping Keinahra's wounds.
After getting dressed into a new kimono exactly like the bloodied and torn one and picking up her pack she kneels down in front of Rin. "Ohh, and can you do one more thing for me please?" She said as she unclasped a necklace and held it infront of Rin. "Will you hold onto this for me? It is very important to me and it was almost damaged today." Then she put it onto Rin and stood again.
"Hai, but Keinah-chan, this is too beautiful, are you sure you wish me to handle it for you."
"Why of course, the necklace suits you, and you can be trusted. I know that for certain, also it cannot be harmed while it is with you, sense Sesshomaru-sama will never let any harm befall to you. Ja ne!" And with that she walked the opposite way of Rin's camp and into the forest. Praying to the Kami's that she would not be followed.
**BACK AT RIN'S CAMP**
"Rin, who were you with just now?"
Hehe, uh-oh let's just get this over with.
"What ever do you mean Lord Sesshomaru?"
"Rin, do not toy with me. Now tell me who you were with, her scent is all over you. Also where did you get that necklace?"
"Sorry M'Lord, I walked into the clearing and already there was a pretty lady about to bathe, and she asked if I would like to use her soaps. She was very kind to me and have it to me as a gift. Please do not be mad at me Lord Sesshomaru."
"You should be wiser next time and return at once. Why is there the stench of blood on you?"
"Keinah-Chan was wounded and ased me to help her wrap them. And she gave me te neckalace as payment. Lord Sesshomaru, do you think that those dead men we found were the one's who attacked her. I ask the origin of her wounds and she told me tha she as jumped by several bandits."
A quick flash of what looked to be concern shot through Sesshomaru's eyes as she said this.
"Rin, if what she said was true, she is most certainly not a normal ningen. Jaken, Ah-Un, watch Rin."
And with that he took off towards the faint scent of Keinahra.
