Tears, Bounciness, and Bed Warmers
Ayame twirled down the stairs and into Sango's basement, humming about something or other. Upon seeing Nazuna, she squealed and ran over to her and hugged her tight, "NAZUNA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You weren't at school today, why not?" she asked, looking all pouty.
Nazuna pried the girl off of her, "I didn't feel like going, so I just stayed home." She smiled and waved to the others, "Hey, everything is set up and ready to go!"
Ayame danced over to Kagome and threw her arms around her shoulders, finally remembering about everything that had happened with Kikyou, "Nazuna, this is our new lead guitarist. Her name's Kagome. She looks just like Ki-ki, ne? Sango says she's got an awesome voice too and she can play really well." Kagome blushed slightly and scratched the back of her head smiling nervously, "Well... I'm decent."
Nazuna nodded, "Well, I'm glad you replaced that stuck up bitch. I would personally like to see her burn in hell for what she did to Yash."
Sango walked in, interrupting the question about to come from Kagome's mouth, and carrying a few six packs of diet cokes that she pulled from the fridge, "Ok, let's get started," Sango said as she put the drinks on the table.
Kagome looked at Nazuna curiously, but picked up her guitar and made sure it was tuned, "Ok, what song are we starting off with?" she asked, looking over and Nazuna and Sango as Ayame cracked her fingers, standing behind her keyboard, beaming.
Nazuna took her place behind the mic, and gave a quick mic check "Testing one, testing two...ok, I say we sing that new song, "Hello" by Evanescence, its good."
Sango sat down behind the drums and twirled her sticks, "Sounds good to me."
Ayame did a strange little dance all to herself, acting a bit like her favorite character off of Cowboy Bebop. Kagome arched a brow and nodded, waiting for Ayame to pick up the first few notes, and then added in a few notes of her own, spicing the song up a bit.
Nazuna softly began to sing:
Play ground school bell rings
…again…
She closed her eyes getting into the song as Sango started to play along with the others, softly tapping out a basic beat to the song.
Rain clouds come to play
…again…
Has no one told you?
She's not breathing …
Hello
I'm your mind giving you someone to talk to
....hello
if I smile and don't believe
Soon i know
I'll wake from this dream
Don't try to fix me
I'm not broken
Hello
I'm the lie
Living for you
So you can hide
...don't cry
Nazuna took the mic from the stand as she swayed back and forth to the music listening to the others play as she sang.
suddenly I know I'm not sleeping
Hello
I'm still here
All that's left of yesterday…
Nazuna smiled at the others as she finished singing.
Ayame took off with her piano solo, and instead of the violin, Kagome went into her own variation of the music trying to keep the tears down, that were threatening to over whelm her. Black ebony locks obscured the view of her face and her and Ayame finished the song off with a flourish. Using the time that Ayame took to jump around she composed her self and looked up at the others smiling, but the sadness reflected in her eyes. Ayame threw her arms around Nazuna's neck, "That was Aweeeessooooommmmee, Nuzuna-chan!!! It's Ayame's turn to pick a song!!!" She laughed and leapt away and went thumbing through her music before emerging with a song she had written herself. She looked up at Nazuna quickly, "Nazi-chan can you play guitar for this one? I need you to do those weird riff thingies that make it sound all scary for the bridge." She said cheerfully and walked over to her showing her how it was supposed to go as Kagome handed the guitar to the older girl.
Nazuna took the guitar and looked at Kagome, "Are you ok Kagome? You look kinda out of it."
Sango watched the girls, "Yeah, Kagome you looked like you were about to cry."
Kagome shrugged and looked down at the keys on the keyboard, "Na, I'm good, song just got to me I guess." She looked over at them and smiled reassuringly as Ayame bounced over to her to show her how to play the keyboard for the song she was setting up. Ayame giggled as Kagome nodded, understanding what she wanted done and looked over at Sango, "And you just come in when you think we need a little jazz in the song, K?"
Sango flashed a look to Nazuna and Nazuna just shrugged and began picking strings on the guitar.
"You guys ready??" the red head asked cheerfully looking around at them. Kagome nodded and Ayame beamed, "Good." She stood up in front of the mic and in a surprisingly good voice began to sing;
I'm going to run among the raindrops of the wild,
And not have a care in the world,
I'm going to return to myself as a child,
Away from me, my problems have been hurled."
Her bouncy voice rang out over the top of the instruments, the tune carrying all the way upstairs as a huge smile crossed her face, causing Kagome to smile as well at the upbeat song.
Nazuna played and watched the red head sing she had to fight back a laugh at the way the girl bounced around as she sang. Sango shook her head and giggled as she pounded on the drums.
Ayame smiled and continued singing, removing the mic from the stand and twirled around;
I want to dance with the fireflies on a summer night,
I want to sing to the autumn moon,
I want to relate to a winter snowflake's flight,
I want to relish a spring flower's bloom.
I'm throwing open my arms to embrace the day,
I'm listening to every breeze for what they have to say,
Nazuna began to dance around as she played and Sango stood up while she played the drums losing herself in the music. Kagome laughed and shook her head letting herself go along with the others as Ayame kept singing;
I watch the butterflies dance along the wind,
The trees reach out for a smile.
The lilacs and baby's-breath can gently mend,
All my troubles for a while
I'm throwing open my arms to embrace the day,
I'm listening to every breeze for what they have to say,
Finding the wisdom within myself to carry on,
From all the troubles of my life, I'll parry from,
And I won't hold back!
The sorrow of night will pull me back, I know,
But I will enjoy the day, before I watch it go.
I'm throwing open my arms to embrace the day,
I'm listening to every breeze for what they have to say,
Finding the wisdom within myself to carry on,
From all the troubles of my life, I'll parry from,
And I won't hold back!
I won't hold back!
Nazuna smiled as she put her own spin on some of the notes as she played, her blonde hair falling out of her ponytail and into her face. Ayame twirled around and struck a pose hitting her final note,
I won't hold back!
Kagome laughed and fell to the floor in mock exhaustion, and started cracking up, "You have too much energy, Ayame."
Sango sat down and wiped sweat from her face, "Yeah, lay off the sugar will ya?"
Nazuna put the guitar on its stand and sat down in a chair, "And the caffeine; don't forget the caffeine."
Ayame giggled and twirled over to the fridge and pulled out four sodas tossing them to the girls, "Nahhh you guys need to come reach my level, here." she laughed.
Kagome shook her head and downed the rest of her soda and closed her eyes relaxing, "Well, that was invigorating..."
Nazuna laughed; "If I was as bouncy as Ayame, Yash would lock me in the garage and never let me out," she opened the soda and took a few drinks.
"Well, at least he defends you from the pervert," Sango frowned, "I have his finger prints on my ass for life now!"
Kagome laughed and shook her head rolling over onto her stomach to look at the other three, "Are you two dating?" She asked Sango, taking a sip of her diet coke.
Sango blinked, "Dating who? The pervert? Good God, no!"
Nazuna laughed, "You know you like him stop denying it"
Kagome laughed and looked at Nazuna, "What about you? Are you dating anyone?"
Nazuna shook her head, "No, every time I start to, Yash scares them off!''
Sango laughed, "No wonder Miroku keeps his distance from you!"
Kagome tilted her head to the side, "Inu Yasha your ex or something?"
Nazuna went wide eyed, "Hell no! Yash is my older brother ...you can say he is a bit over protective of his little sister."
Kagome laughed, "Sorry, I was just wondering." She rubbed the back of her neck and shook her head, "Is he dating anyone?" Ayame whipped around, her eyes wide, "Date? Where?"
Sango looked at Ayame, "Hush, Ayame. No, he is currently single," she raised a brow at Kagome, "Why, are you interested?"
Nazuna sat there looking at the girls, "You know he isn't ready for that, Sango, especially after what Kikyou did."
Kagome looked up at Nazuna, "You keep mentioning that, what did she do?" A faint blush was being fought down as she chose to ignore Sango's question.
Nazuna frowned as her blue eyes seem to catch on fire, "That BITCH cheated on him with a jerk named Naraku, and the worst thing was, Naraku is his worst enemy, so that hurt him a lot."
Kagome's eyes flew open, "Why the hell would someone do that? Were they in a fight or something??" She frowned trying to understand the reasoning behind it.
Nazuna just shook her head.
"She is just a whore....Kikyou is a bed warmer for every guy she meets," Sango said with a coldness to her voice.
Kagome sighed and looked down at the can of pop in her hands, "That's ridiculous..." She pushed her hand through her ebony locks as a frown settled up on her face, "I can't believe someone would do something like that..."
