Instalment 5

 

Ashiteru

She lay in the damp grass, under the stars
Her breathing soft, even and measured
Her chest rising and falling, almost unnoticeable
She was tucked in amongst the tall grasses
Her long, raven black tresses strewn around her head
Her eyes closed lightly, hiding blue irises
She was like a work of art
Her soft skin was pale from the chill of the night air
Her clothes were covered in drops of crystal water

He bent down and gently stroked her cheek
She stirred and moved her head to his hand
He jerked back, surprised at her forwardness
She moaned, bereft of his warm touch
He relented and lay down next to her, encircling her in his arms
She burrowed deeper into his embrace and sighed
One of his hands moved itself gently in her hair
Soft breaths floated across his bare chest
He felt the stirring emotion in his chest and was unable to contain it

“I lov-. I l-lo. I love you. I'm so sorry but I love you.”
He bent his head down and nuzzled her soft locks
Burying himself from the world
Having her love for one moment
Then he would release her.
But he couldn't.
It was impossible.
“I can't let you go. I'm sorry. I love you”
“Luckily, you won't have to let go.”
“I love you too.”
