Full Summary- Being kissed, drugged and abandoned almost simultaneously isn't the best way to start off the New Year. Luckily, shes just a few yards shy of being in a certain wolf clans territory.
Started off as a one-shot just laying on my desktop. I thought of a semi-good plot, and figured it was time for some Kouga/Kagome action.
-Midnight murmurs: Prologue-
When she wakes, its the first memory to greet and leave her with a headache.
Rushed, clawed hands pulling her away from her friends around the camp fire. Former cold clay eyes regarding her calmly as she tripped and yelped as she was dragged further into the calculating woods. She remembered how the brown eyes of her incarnation hummed softly with secret I-know-something-you-don't-know twinkles.
She remembers the feeling of hard, rough bark against her back as the hanyou mashed his lips over hers in an awkward, rushed sort-of first kiss. The surprise that came was dully noted, but easily enough forgotten as she reeled in the feeling of loving and being loved for the first and last time by her would-be boyfriend.
She remembers the movies, and how the world 'fades away' and its as if 'they are the only two in the world' feelings the actors emphasize. But the world stayed, the crickets chirped, the crackle of fire in the distance still sounded in her ears, and even though she willed reality to go away, it stubbornly stayed.
But what she remembers the most was how his posture never relaxed, and how he pulled back after a moment and rested his chin on her sailor-suit clad shoulder. And how his nails dug into her upper arms harsh enough that they ripped into her skin, and droplets of blood were staining her sailor-sleeves, the thought had distracted her for a moment.
And, of course, she remembers the kicker. How Inu-Yasha exhaled a hagged breath and said "I'm Sorry."
and Kagome wouldn't know what he meant until she woke up 20+ hours later to an empty camp.
