Chapter One

 

“Wow… He's already twenty-five. I forgot! When I met him, he was nineteen, and he still acts the same. Can't he grow up?” Sango asked Kagome as they were setting up the party.

“Miroku will never grow up! My brother, Sota, who's now fifteen, is more mature. Sadly, he's ten years younger than Miroku,” Kagome claimed.

“Okay! We're done,” Kagome said excitedly.

“I'm going home to get all of my stuff ready. I'll be back in about twenty minutes when everyone arrives,” Sango told Kagome.

Kagome waited for the crowd to arrive. InuYasha was first to knock. Kagome answered the door with a smile as he handed her the poorly wrapped present.

“Thank you so much,” said Kagome, as she could see he tried really hard to figure out how to wrap it.

“Make yourself at h- INUYASHA!”

“Mmmwha?? UM HUNGWY!” InuYasha claimed with his mouth full of party snacks. Kagome kept straining to get him out of the kitchen, but there was a knock on the door. She walked away from him to answer it, hoping he wouldn't eat anymore. Koga had gotten there.

“I SMELL THAT MANGY MUTT! WHERE THE HELL IS HE?” Koga shouted once he sensed InuYasha.

“In the kitchen,” said Kagome, pointing. Koga walked into the kitchen and found InuYasha pigging out.

“OH, NO! YOU DID NOT!” Koga screamed.

“Yep! Hehehe - I finished ALLLLL the chips - the salty, cheesy, crispy, YOU NAME IT!”

“DAMN! You know they're my absolute favorite!” Koga shouted in raging anger.

Kagome just shook her head and watched the two of them. Just then, Ayame had arrived. She was about to ask if Koga was there, but she heard he and InuYasha fighting over food.

“COME HERE, KOGA!” Ayame called.

“I'll get back to you, InuYasha,” Koga muttered.

Ayame and Koga sat down on the floor. Kagome finally pulled InuYasha out of the kitchen and took him to sit on the floor. On the spur of the moment, Koga grabbed Kagome's hands and said,

“Please come home with me! I'll marry you and protect you forever!” Kagome stuttered at what he said, when InuYasha jumped in and yelled,

“THAT JOB IS ALREADY TAKEN!”

Koga was about to yell back, but he was interrupted by Ayame's quite crying. Kagome asked her what was wrong, but Ayame just shook her head and said that she wanted to go home, She ran out the door and Koga chased her shortly after.
