Awaken
Chapter 9
Full Group

-When I'm lost in the rain
In your eyes I know I'll find the light
To light my way
And when I'm scared
And losing ground
When my would is going crazy
You can turn it all around
And when I'm down you're there
Pushing me to the top
You're always there
Giving me all you've got
For a shield from the storm
For a friend, for a love
To keep me safe and warm
I turn to you

I don't like Christina Aguilera but I love this song.

Everyone stayed silent waiting for Sango's answer. "Seeing as how you're not lying and that whoever just talked for Kagome knows about my past then I'll go." Sango said.
"That's great!" Kagome said.
"I'll need to talk to Otou-san and the villagers though." Sango said.
"We'll come with you." Miroku said.
Kagome began to stand but was still feeling a little weak. Apparently having someone else take over your body for a short period of time was very tiring. Inuyasha helped her up knowing she would want to go with them. So instead of arguing he just helped her up.
"Arigato Inuyasha." Kagome said when she stood up.
They all walked out of the hut and followed Sango to the center of the village. She gathered the villager's attention. "I'll be leaving the village for a while. I'm not sure when or if I'm coming back. There is something I must do." Sango said.
The villagers all cried out and started talking. Yoshiyuki caught everyone's attention and moved next to Sango. "If it's something she must do then we should see her off with smiles. We can't hold her back." He said.
"But we'll be losing one of our most valuable slayers." One of the villagers cried out.
"We'll all be saddened that one of our best slayers is leaving but it will give us a chance to improve on our skills. We all rely too heavily on Sango and since she's leaving she may become more skillful. We must take this time to work harder." Yoshiyuki said.
The villagers all nodded in agreement. They said their goodbyes to Sango and went back to their tasks. "Arigato Otou-san." Sango said.
"When do you leave?" Yoshiyuki asked.
"We haven't discussed that yet." Sango said.
"Let me know when you do. Houshi, I would appreciate it if you kept your hands off of my daughter." He said.
Miroku just nodded his head in innocence. "Please sir, I am a monk after all." He smiled innocently. Yoshiyuki shook his head laughing and walked away.
Sango rolled her eyes and headed back for the hut. "We should talk about where we're going and when." Sango said.
The rest followed her back to the hut. "So how do we decide where to go?" Sango asked.
"Well you saw the images didn't you?" Kagome asked. "They usually give us a clue of where to go next. I didn't see the images so you're going to have to figure it out."
"You didn't see the images?" Sango asked. "Wait...you're a miko?"
"It seems I am now." Kagome replied.
"How did it suddenly appear like that? I didn't sense it earlier." Sango said.
"Neither did any of us. It's another mystery. When she awoke her aura had changed drastically. Maybe we'll find out why things are happening as we begin our journey. It seems everyone who is involved is already in the group." Miroku said.
"We're getting off track. Where do we go next?" Inuyasha said. "I don't recognize any of those places."
"Neither do I." Said Miroku.
"I think I know where it is. The mountain image we saw is where some of the slayers go to train by themselves." Sango said. "It's about a days walk from here."
"When shall we leave?" Miroku asked.
"Whenever Kagome feels up to it." Inuyasha said.
"I'm fine. We can go whenever everyone else is ready." Kagome smiled.
"If we leave right now then we can camp out near the mountain and take a look at it first thing in the morning." Sango said.
"That's a great idea. You should gather your things quickly." Miroku smiled lecherously. "Can I lend you a hand?"
Sango glared at him before getting up. "I'll be back when I've gathered my things." Sango said as she exited the hut.
"Miroku can you do me a favor and try not to grope Sango onegai?" Kagome asked.
"I can only try." Miroku said.
"It's all is ask." Kagome said.
"Yeah because you know he won't be able to keep his hands off of her." Inuyasha annoyingly replied.
"He stopped groping me." Kagome said. "I didn't have to ask him."
"That's different." Inuyasha said as he put his arms into the sleeves of his haori.
"Why is it different?" Kagome asked. Now she wanted to know. He seemed to be hiding something.
"I can explain that." Miroku said. "You see whe-"
"I'm ready." Sango said as she entered the hut. The group looked at her. "Did I interrupt something?"
"No, let's go." Inuyasha said. He stood up and helped Kagome up, giving the monk an evil glare for what almost came out of his big mouth.
Miroku put his hands up in defense. "Can I carry something for you Sango?" Miroku asked.
"No, I'm not bringing too much. Thanks for the offer though." Sango said. Just as she was about to think he wasn't that bad, Miroku took the chance to rub her rear. "Hentai!"
Miroku fell to the floor with a thump and his face brightened up with a handprint from where Sango had slapped him. `Ah bliss.' He thought as he stood. "Shall we go then?" He asked as if the groping and slapping hadn't taken place at all.
"I told you." Inuyasha said to Kagome as he followed her out.
"After you." Miroku said to Sango.
"You first." Sango glared at Miroku as he walked by. He knew if he groped her he wouldn't get away with just a slap.
The villagers all said goodbye to Sango and the rest of the group as they left the village. She said goodbye to her Otou-san and little brother for the last time. "I didn't know you had a brother Sango." Kagome said.
"Hai, he was the one that accidentally knocked the katana at you." Sango said. "We were practicing and he knocked it out of my hand as he was using his scythe. We didn't think anyone was close enough to be harmed."
"It's okay. I didn't get hurt and Inuyasha's arm is already healed." Kagome said.
"He should learn to be more careful." Inuyasha grumbled. Not because he got hurt but because if he wasn't keeping a close eye on Kagome she could've been seriously hurt if not dead.
"It's a tajiya village everyone is aware of the practice that is going on. Very rarely do we get visitors that come into the village. They usually drop off a message and leave." Sango defended herself.
"I didn't know you were one of the best slayers in the village." Kagome said changing the subject. They didn't need a fight, especially since they had just started their journey.
"I've trained since I was very young. I didn't like doing household chores so I went with Otou-san to train." Sango said. "Everyone was amazed because I'm a female."
"It must be hard to do such a thing in such a male dominated time." Miroku said.
"It was." Sango said. "The village eventually accepted that I was a slayer and treated me as one."
"How did you lose your memories? Do you remember anything?" Kagome asked.
"No, Otou-san said I went missing for a year or so and found me near the river almost dead." Sango said. "I couldn't remember anything. It took me a while to remember he was my Otou-san."
"That's similar to Miroku's story." Inuyasha said. "You were both found almost dead at a river."
"Something must've happened to cause us to be washed up near a river." Miroku said.
"Seems that we'll find out eventually." Sango said coming out of deep thoughts.
"I wonder why we lost our memories in the first place." Kagome said. "In my dream I was told that I suppressed my memories."
"What dream?" Inuyasha asked.
"I had a dream last night..." Kagome said.
Kagome told the group about her dream. They still didn't understand why her miko powers hadn't been `awakened' until now. Who was the person in the dream? Was Kagome the only one who had suppressed her memories or did everyone else do it too?
"What could have been so horrible that you suppressed your memories?" Sango asked quietly not really expecting an actual answer.
"Maybe it was the enemy that the person in Kagome's dream talked about." Miroku said.
"Whatever it is we need to be on guard." Inuyasha said.
Everyone nodded in agreement.

When it got too dark to keep moving Inuyasha scouted for a good place to camp. He sniffed around for anything that may be threatening. After finding nothing around he went back to the group and they set up camp.
Inuyasha hunted while Miroku went to get firewood. Sango went to the nearby river to fetch water and Kagome stayed at camp getting a head start on dinner. Everyone regrouped at camp and helped Kagome.
"We should get to the mountain area by noon tomorrow." Sango said.
"What will we do when we get there?" Kagome asked. "I didn't see any of the images you guys did."
"I'm not sure. Not everything was clear. Many of the images were blurry or distorted. They passed by too quickly to actually see them." Miroku said.
"We can discuss it when we get to the mountain." Inuyasha said. "We don't know if we need to go inside or just look around the mountain."
"Inuyasha's right." Miroku said. "We should all get some sleep so we can be up early tomorrow."
Miroku settled himself near the base of a tree while Sango set up her bedding across from the monk. She didn't trust him enough to sleep any closer than she already was. Kirara curled up next to Sango and mewed before closing her eyes. Miroku sighed in disappointment but drifted off to sleep.
Inuyasha waited for the others to settle before grabbing Kagome and jumping into the tree he was leaning against earlier that evening. Kagome gasped in surprise when he suddenly picked her up. It would take her a while to get used to Inuyasha's sudden movements.
Inuyasha leaned back on the tree while letting Kagome get comfortable in his lap. Her back was to his chest and he wrapped his arms around her for warmth. His legs tangled themselves in hers so she wouldn't fall during the night.
Flushed, Kagome sank into Inuyasha's warmth trying to ignore the new more intimate position they were now in. Inuyasha felt Kagome shiver and removed his arms to open up his outer haori so he could wrap it around her. It was big enough for him to still be able to wear it while covering Kagome.
Kagome sighed as he rewrapped his arms around her. Soon enough they both fell asleep.

-You're giving me too many things
Lately you're all I need
You smiled at me and said,
Don't get me wrong I love you
But does that mean I have to meet your father?
When we are older you'll understand
What I meant when I said "No,
I don't think life is quite that simple"
* When you walk away
You don't hear me say please
Oh baby, don't go
Simple and clean is the way that you're making me feel tonight
It's hard to let it go
The daily things that keep us all busy
Are confusing me
That's when you came to me and said,
Wish I could prove I love you
But does that mean I have to walk on water?
When we are older you'll understand
It's enough when I say so
And maybe some things are that simple

Okay so my writer's block isn't too bad with this fic. Updates will still take a little longer than usual because school is really cracking down on me and I'm sick right now. I probably won't be able to write tomorrow or the next day because right after school I'm going to a Maroon 5 concert! I love them! Thursday I'm skipping school to go to the fair with my friend. Well technically it's not skipping because my dad is letting me. Hope you like the chapter. Let me know what you think. Ja ne.
NorikuKitsune- No, Kagome doesn't know she's marked.
