Chapter 14
Curiosity
------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------
I want you to remember
A love so full it could send us all ways
I want you to surrender
All my feelings rose today
And I want you to remain
The power of children can amaze
I'll try not to complain
I know that's a pisser baby
The chemicals between us
The walls that lie between us
Lying in this bed
The chemicals displaced
There is no lonelier state
Than lying in this bed
I want you to remember
Everything you said
Every driven word
Like a hammer
Hell
To my head
The chemicals between us
The walls that lie between us
Lying in this bed
The chemicals displaced
There is no lonelier state
Than lying in this bed
We're of the hollow men
We are the naked ones
We never meant you harm
Never meant you wrong
And I'd like to thank
All my lovers
Lovers
Lovers
Lovers
Lovers
Lovers
The chemicals between us
The army of achievers
Lying in this bed
The chemicals displaced
There is no lonelier face
Than lying in this bed
The chemicals between us
The chemicals between us
Chemicals
The chemicals between us
Bush `Chemicals Between Us'

Well Inuyasha was finally silenced of his ramblings when Kagome sat him. She couldn't stand him repeating that over and over again. She tried to ignore it but finally when she didn't think she could turn any redder she yelled the word and announced she was going on a walk with Shippo. Before Inuyasha could argue she was already gone.
For the last hour Inuyasha had been grumbling. He went after Kagome but each time she sensed him and sat him. She yelled at him to go back and wouldn't stop sitting him until he left. Finally he brooded off and now he sat in front of the fire sulking.
"You shouldn't have gone after her like that. You did the same thing when you were younger." Kouga said. "She still has the same temper."
"Shut up!" Inuyasha growled. He was worried about Kagome. She had a distant look in her eyes. She was worried about not knowing what was going on in her past. From what he knew of her so far she was going to keep worrying about it.
"Your jealousy hasn't changed much either." Kouga said. "You were more violent though."
"Will you stop!" Inuyasha yelled.
"What are you arguing about now?" Kagome sighed as she sat down between Inuyasha and Kouga.
"Nothing." They both said at the same time.
"I've been thinking a lot. The voice said that when we reach the ookami territory we would find out about our pasts. How come we haven't figured much out?" Kagome asked. Shippo once again sat in her lap basking in her affection.
"I was thinking about that too. Although we have found out some information it's not really enough to do anything about it." Miroku said. "Kouga did you usually meet Kagome in the same area or did you just find her wherever?"
"I usually found you guys near the edge of the forest around here." Kouga said. "It's not that far away. I can take you there tomorrow if you want."
"That would be great Kouga-kun." Kagome exclaimed.
"It's getting dark. We should get to the cave to sleep." Kouga said. He stood up and started putting the fire out. "Don't worry the other wolves won't mess with you."
Inuyasha snorted and stood up with Kagome. "Oi, runt go home." He muttered.
Shippo simply stuck his tongue out at Inuyasha and snuggled into Kagome's chest. Inuyasha glared daggers at him but said nothing. Kagome would just sit him again and his back was already sore from the previous sits.
Everyone followed Kouga back to the wolf den behind the waterfall. He picked an area that none of the other wolves slept in. The area was big enough for all of them to sleep and it was secluded from the rest of the wolf pack.
"We can talk tomorrow and then I'll take you to where I usually met you." Kouga said. He smiled at Kagome and began to walk away. "Oyasumi."
"Oyasumi Kouga-kun, arigato for all your help." Kagome said. He flashed her another smile before going back to his sleeping area.
Inuyasha growled and pulled Kagome against him. He was being bolder than usual. "Quit being so nice to him." He whispered in her ear.
Kagome shivered but quickly shook it off. She shot him a dirty look and laid down the fur blanket that Kouga had provided her and her friends with. She was very thankful for his help and didn't need Inuyasha telling her what to do. She then laid down on the blanket.
Shippo hesitated but finally made the decision to lay down with Kagome. He moved closer to her and looked to see if she was awake. "Kagome, can I lay with you?" He shyly asked.
"Of course you can Shippo." Kagome said sweetly. She waited as Shippo climbed on her stomach and finally settled himself. He had his ear against her heart and was curled up into a ball.
Inuyasha did his best to cover his growl. Everyone was stealing Kagome's attention that day and he didn't like it at all. He'd have to spend some time with her afterwards. He threw a rock at Miroku's head when he heard the snicker. "Go to sleep lecher!" Inuyasha said angrily.
Miroku rubbed his head and laid down. Sango rolled her eyes and moved further away from Miroku. Inuyasha then laid down next to Kagome. He put an arm over her stomach below Shippo. It was the most contact he had that day without her glaring at him or something.
Kagome was already asleep. She sighed in content and moved as close to him as she could without disturbing Shippo's sleep. Inuyasha smirked arrogantly. He could get her to move closer from instincts.
-------------------------
The next morning Kagome was awoken by light growling beside her. She looked over and saw Inuyasha growling at one of the wolves. The wolf was looking her way as if he wanted to ask her something.
"Can I help you with something?" Kagome asked nicely as she sat up. She placed Shippo in her lap and waited for the wolf's answer.
"Uh hai." He stuttered and a blush spread over his face. "I was asked to see if you and your companions were hungry."
"Breakfast would be very nice. Arigato for asking." Kagome smiled. She pinched Inuyasha's leg when he began to growl again.
The wolf smiled weakly and ran out of sight. Even though Inuyasha was a hanyou he was still very intimidating at times. "Do you have to be nice to everyone?" Inuyasha asked.
"No, just to those who are nice to me." Kagome said. She looked around and noticed everyone but her and Inuyasha were still sleeping. "Hey, Inuyasha..."
"What?" He asked.
"About Shippo..." Kagome began. Inuyasha cringed. He knew what she was going to ask. "I was wondering if we could keep him with us. I'd feel bad if we just left him, especially since he has no family. He seems to like us a lot."
Inuyasha looked down towards the runt who was sleeping dead to the world. He was surprised that a youkai would be able to sleep through all the noise, although he was still just a kit. He really didn't want Shippo to go along but he would feel some sort of guilt if he were to leave him by himself. It seemed like it would make Kagome happy.
"I guess it would be bad to leave him alone by himself..." Inuyasha trailed off.
"Arigato Inuyasha." Kagome said as she practically threw herself into his arms. She hugged him and he returned the gesture.
"Like you wouldn't have just taken him with us anyway." Inuyasha replied.
Kagome giggled and nodded. "I would've taken him with me either way."
"Itai!" They heard.
Kagome looked down and noticed Shippo had rolled off her lap and bumped his head. It must've happened when she hugged Inuyasha. "Gomen Shippo." She said as she put him back in her lap. "Shippo would you like to stay with us?"
"Really?" Shippo asked. He looked up at her as his tail swished around excitedly.
"Hai, really." Kagome said.
Shippo's answer was to knock her on her back with a hug. Inuyasha would've caught her if he'd seen it coming but it took him by surprise too. The runt could move fast if he really wanted too. "Oi, be careful!" Inuyasha shouted.
"What are you guys doing?" Sango asked as she sat up. She rubbed the sleep out of her eyes.
Miroku sat up as well. "Its very hard with all the noise. Is there a reason for the loud ruckus?"
"The runt is staying with us from now on." Inuyasha said.
"I figured he would." Sango said.
"Hai, me too." Miroku smiled. "Kagome is much too nice to leave Shippo all by himself. He is quite taken to her. He did say she reminded him of his Okaa-san."
"Hai, she does." Shippo said proudly. "Can I call you Okaa-san?"
"If you want to Shippo." Kagome smiled.
Shippo once again began to knock her over with a hug. This time Inuyasha was prepared and caught Kagome half way to the ground. "What did I just tell you about that?" Inuyasha growled.
Shippo stuck his tongue out at him. He saw Inuyasha get up and began to run. He wailed as he ran from behind the waterfall and into the clearing. Inuyasha was able to catch up to Shippo and bopped him on the head. "Itai!" Shippo said as he nursed the bump on his head.
At that moment Kagome had just run into the clearing. "Inuyasha sit!" She said. Suddenly she felt a sense of déjà vu.
"Yo."
Kagome looked behind her and saw Kouga wave. "Good morning Kouga-kun." She called out.
Kouga ran over to Kagome and grasped her hands in his. "I trust you slept well." He said.
"Hai, arigato." Kagome said. She was trying to get Kouga to let go of her hands.
"If you'll come join us back in the cave there is food cooked for you and your friends." Kouga said oblivious to Inuyasha's growls.
"Arigato." Kagome said.
"How about I give you a lift then." Kouga said. He swung an arm under her leg and wrapped his arm around her shoulders. He smirked at Inuyasha before running back to the cave in a whirlwind.
Shippo jumped onto Inuyasha's shoulder. "He's really nice." He said.
Inuyasha bopped him on his head again and shoved him off of his shoulder. He ran towards the cave faster than he normally would. Shippo latched onto his haori before he took off.
"Here they go again." Both Miroku and Sango said. They looked at each other and felt a sense of déjà vu.
Sango turned to say something to Miroku but slapped him instead when she felt his hand on her butt. "Hentai!" She shouted and stormed off towards the cave.
"Gomen, my hand has a mind of its own." Miroku said as he ran after her.
----------------
After eating Kouga took them all through the forest. They followed a path through the forest to a clearing. Kouga stepped out of the way for all of them to see. "This is where I usually found you. Inukkuro always sulked in that tree branch up there." Kouga pointed.
"Oi!" Inuyasha barked.
"What do you think we'll need to remember?" Kagome asked.
"The voice said to come back and the past will be revealed." Sango said.
"Maybe it takes a while. It could be a lot to take in." Miroku said.
"Arigato for all your help Kouga-kun." Kagome said. "I think now its best for us to be left alone to figure this out."
"I understand. I'll see you again. Be sure to visit too." Kouga said. He grasped her hands in his. "It's nice to see you again."
Kouga leaned down and pressed his lips against hers in a quick kiss. Kouga smirked at Inuyasha and left before anything could be said. Kagome blushed and covered her mouth. She hadn't expected him to do that.
Inuyasha growled loudly and ran over to Kagome. "That bastard!"
Sango rolled her eyes and sat down. "Well for some reason I think Inuyasha has always had a jealousy problem. The anger seems so familiar to me."
"Me too." Kagome said.
"Same here." Miroku said. "Maybe we should stay here until something is uncovered."
"Good idea." Everyone agreed.

I didn't want to know
I just didn't want to know
Best to keep things in the shallow end
Cause I never quite learned how to swim
I just didn't want to know
Didn't want, didn't want,
Didn't want, didn't want
Close my eyes just to look at you
Taken by the seamless vision
I close my eyes,
Ignore the smoke,
Ignore the smoke,
Ignore the smoke
Call it aftermath, she's turning blue
Such a lovely color for you
Call it aftermath, she's turning blue
While I just sit and stare at you
Because I don't want to know
I didn't want to know
I just didn't want to know
I just didn't want
Mistook their nods for an approval
Just ignore the smoke and smile
Call it aftermath, she's turning blue
Such a lovely color for you
Call it aftermath, she's turning blue
Such a perfect color for your eyes
Call it aftermath, she's turning blue
Such a lovely color for you
Call it aftermath, she's turning blue
While I just sit and stare at you
I don't want to know
A Perfect Circle `Blue'
