Inuyasha made his way back to camp with Kagome and Shippo both sleeping in his arms. Kagome calmed down and ended up falling asleep. She was more tired than scared. Inuyasha also convinced her that he would be there if anything happened.

As soon as he got back to camp he jumped into the tree he was sitting on earlier. He was tired too, which is very rare. He only needed a couple hours of rest and he would be fine. Recent events must've taken a lot out of him.

He leaned his head against the tree and fell asleep within minutes.

Later that evening everyone began waking up one by one. Sango awoke first, shortly after Miroku woke. He looked around for Inuyasha and Kagome. He noticed them in the tree and saw Inuyasha was actually sleeping.

“Well it seems that Inuyasha and Kagome had a busy time. He's actually sleeping.” Miroku whispered to Sango.

“Itai!” Miroku said as something hit the back of his head, knocking him over.

Sango laughed and watched as the monk struggled to sit back up. “That's what you get for opening your mouth, Houshi-sama, especially while in earshot of the one your talking to.”

Miroku looked in the direction the item was thrown. “Ah, Inuyasha I didn't know you were awake. Did you sleep well?” He asked nervously.

“Shut it bouzo.” Inuyasha glared at him. He was sleeping peacefully when he heard his comment. Angry, he grabbed a tree branch and threw it at him.

“What's going on?” Kagome asked as she rubbed the sleep out of her eyes.

Inuyasha sighed and got a good hold of her before jumping out of the tree suddenly. She screamed and hit him once they were safely on the ground. “I hate it when you do that!” She yelled.

Suddenly the all to familiar white flash hit them all at once.

********* Memory********

“Inuyasha where are you?” Kagome called out. She had been walking around for hours looking for the stubborn young hanyou. Her feet were starting to hurt but she was determined to find him.

Inuyasha had been sitting high up on a tree branch listening to Kagome call out to him. Any time she got out of sight he would jump into the closest tree to her and watch the same routine happen over and over for about two hours. He figured she would tire herself out but so far it hadn't happened.

Sighing he finally decided to give up and jumped down from his hiding spot. “What?” He called out.

“Inuyasha!” Kagome ran up to him and hugged him. He stood there shocked. After a couple of seconds he shyly embraced her back. “I thought you left and weren't going to come back.”

“I'm not going to leave you know that.” Inuyasha said.

Kagome fell to the ground. Her feet hurt more than she thought. “Can we sit down?” She asked.

Inuyasha suddenly felt bad for making her walk around everywhere. Being a hanyou he always forgot that humans couldn't stand as much as he could. He could smell youkai around. He picked her up and jumped into the tree branch he was sitting in.

“Inuyasha...” Kagome said scared.

“Just don't look down and trust me.” Inuyasha said.

Kagome looked at him and nodded. “Why did you leave? We were just going to eat.” She said.

“Miroku touched you.” Inuyasha said, not looking her in the eyes.

“It's not like I wanted him to. You hit him for it!” Kagome said.

“He shouldn't have done it!” Inuyasha growled.

“I told you I didn't want him to do it!” Kagome said.

“Why didn't you hit him then?”

“I'm not like that! Besides you hit him first!” Kagome said. “Then Sango hit him.”

“You like Miroku don't you?” Inuyasha asked.

“Of course I like Miroku.” Kagome said. She saw his face drop. “Not like that. I mean as a friend.”

Inuyasha crossed his arms satisfied with her answer. He could smell Sango and Miroku coming closer. He knew Kagome was going to want to talk to them. “Sango and Miroku are coming.” He said and then grabbed a hold of her before jumping down without warning.

“I hate it when you do that!” Kagome shouted. She was holding onto Inuyasha tightly.

“Why does Inuyasha get all the action?” Miroku pouted.

Inuyasha growled as Kagome's cheeks turned red and she let go of him. “What do you want?” He asked.

“I want to apologize for my previous actions. I didn't mean to touch what was yours.” Miroku bowed his head.

“What?” Inuyasha asked.

“I don't know I heard Otou-san say it all the time to the village lady's husbands.” Miroku said.

“Anyways when's your brother coming?” Sango asked.

“Half-brother.” Inuyasha corrected.

“That's right he's supposed to come isn't he?” Kagome asked.

`Awaken'

The group snapped out of the memory. They took a couple of minutes to comprehend what they had just seen. “Everyone saw that right?” Sango asked.

“Saw what?” Shippo asked. He'd finally awaken.

“Shippo why don't you play with Kirara over in that area.” Kagome pointed to a plain area. It was far enough to where he couldn't hear but she could still see him.

“Hai.” Shippo said. He could sense it was one of those adult conversations. He picked up Kirara and made his way to the plain area.

As soon as Shippo was out of earshot Sango repeated her question. “Did everyone see that?”

“Hai.” Everyone said.

“I can't believe you were a hentai even then.” Sango shook her head.

“Apparently I got it from Otou-san.” Miroku put his hand on his chin. “It's odd that we were so mature at that age.”

“Something must've happened that made us grow up.” Kagome said.

“Inuyasha, you seem the same too.” Sango said. “In fact we all do.”

“True, Inuyasha is as possessive and grumpy as he was when he was younger from what we've seen so far.” Miroku said thoughtfully.

“Oi! At least I'm not a lecher.” Inuyasha grumbled.

“Wait, Inuyasha, you have a brother?” Kagome asked.

“I don't know. I mean in the memory I did.” Inuyasha said.

“Maybe we should concentrate on finding him. He might be able to help us. Maybe you'll be able to find your parents too.” Miroku said.

“I think that's a good idea, but where would we start?” Kagome asked.

“Well didn't the voice tell you to stay in the Western lands?” Sango asked.

“Even so that's still a vague idea of where to look.” Miroku said.

“We could ask Kouga-kun.” Kagome suggested. “Maybe he'd know or at least be able to point us in the right direction.”

Inuyasha growled, as much as he hated to ask the wolf for help or even go near him, they needed to know. Anything would help at the moment. Besides it might prove useful to find out if he had any family. He'd also like to know. Kagome, Miroku, and Sango all had someone. He just woke up and had been with Kagome since that moment.

“Tomorrow morning we'll go see Kouga.” Inuyasha sighed. “We make it quick and leave though. No casual conversations.”

“I think you have some issues with Kouga.” Miroku said. “Is it jealousy I sense?”

“Shut it bouzo. I'll throw another branch at you.” Inuyasha threatened.

“You threw a branch at Miroku?” Kagome asked.

“I'm going to go get dinner.” Inuyasha said.

“I'll get some firewood.” Miroku stood up and began to leave.

“I'll get some water from the river.” Sango said.

“If you're all going to ignore my question then can someone at least send Shippo this way?” Kagome asked.

“Yeah, yeah I'll tell the runt.” Inuyasha said. He went over to the plain clearing. “Kirara, Sango's going to get water from the river if you want to go with her.”

Kirara mewed and ran after Sango before she got too far. “I was playing with her.” Shippo pouted.

“Kagome wants you over there with her. We're leaving so we need you to protect her.” Inuyasha said. He couldn't help but feel some sympathy for the kitsune.

“Hai, I will.” Shippo said. “Okaa-san is marked. Does that mean your mates? You don't smell like my parents when they were mated. Well it's the same but then its not.”

“I know what you mean. She doesn't know I marked her. Don't say anything. She's not fully marked. It's more like I'm courting her. Didn't your parents ever tell you?” Inuyasha asked.

Shippo lowered his head. “No they didn't get a chance to. They didn't really teach me the things they wanted to.” He said sadly.

“I'll teach you then.” Inuyasha said.

“Really?” Shippo asked. “Wait, why are you being nice? I thought you didn't like me.”

“Well like you I don't have anyone.” Inuyasha said. “It would make Kagome happy. She needs something to distract her from her worry.”

“You have Okaa-san.” Shippo said.

“I know but I woke up without any family. Well I didn't think I had a family.” Inuyasha said. “Things are really complicated but I know how you feel. So I'll help you out.”

“Arigato.” Shippo smiled. “I'll go protect Okaa-san while your gone.”

“Good.” Inuyasha nodded. When Shippo was gone and he saw that he was with Kagome he began to sniff around for any animals.

The next day the group made their way to Kouga's den. Before they reached it Kouga was already waiting for them. “I thought I smelled your lovely scent heading this way.” Kouga smiled at Kagome. He walked over to her and kissed her hand.

“Kouga-kun, we have a question for you.” Kagome quickly got to the matter at hand trying to calm Inuyasha's anger. “We were wondering if you ever heard of Inuyasha having a brother.”

“I vaguely remember him having a half brother. They weren't on very good terms so I didn't really hear much about him. I didn't meet him or anything. I know he lives in a castle.” Kouga informed them.

“Do you know where it is?” Kagome asked.

“I think if you follow the river north for three days you'll find it.” Kouga said.

“Arigato Kouga-kun.” Kagome said as she threw her arms over in a hug as thanks.

Inuyasha tried as hard as he could to stop from growling. Shippo also began to growl from his place on Inuyasha's shoulder. Kouga saw Inuyasha's anger and jealousy and just smirked while hugging her in return.

“So I take it your heading there?” Kouga asked as Kagome pulled away.

“Hai, arigato for all your help.” She smiled.

“No problem at all. Remember that I'm always here if you need help, and don't forget to visit.” Kouga said. He kissed her on the lips and headed back for his den. “I'll take that as thanks!”

“That bastard!” Inuyasha shouted. He was going to chase after him but was stopped when Kagome stood in front of him.

“Such confidence, Kouga has saying that while he's running away.” Sango said.

“Don't Inuyasha, he did help us out a lot.” Kagome said.

“He didn't have to kiss you!” Inuyasha said.

“Come on Inuyasha can we please just go?” Kagome pleaded. “Just drop it this time, for me.”

“Fine.” Inuyasha said. He spun around so fast that Shippo almost flew off. If Inuyasha hadn't caught him he would've hit a tree.

“Ooh she's good.” Miroku whispered to Sango.

Sango nodded in agreement and picked Kirara up. “On another journey.” She sighed. “This is going to be a long trip.”

Inuyasha was in a bad mood and it was going to take them three days to get anywhere, that's if where they were heading was the right place. Hopefully they were heading the right way...

Well it didn't take nearly as long to update on this fic. Sorry if things are confusing in the fic with the memories and whatnot. I hope its not confusing. It didn't seem like it to me but I am the writer so I don't know. Let me know if it is and I'll try to clear any misunderstandings. I'm doing my best on trying to keep things understandable. If I have time I plan on going back to previous chapters to correct errors. I've been busy so I've just been uploading the chapters and not checking it as thoroughly as I'd like to. So if I get time I will do that. Probably only with this fic, because it's the shortest and it's the freshest. The problem with having numerous fics going on at once is that I forget what happened in what fic. That's probably why things repeat in certain fics or why it takes me longer to update, because I have to go back and reread some of the chapters. I think I finally know where this fic is going. I don't have exact details but I do have an idea of who will show up in the fic later on how they will act and how it will end. But with me I change my ideas often so it may change altogether. Some characters will be OOC. I hope no one minds because I like the way its going to go if my current ending sticks in my head. Sorry for the long AN. I did make this chapter a little bit longer. Not much but I tried. Hope you like this chapter. Let me know what you think. Ja ne.
