Back and Back and Back to the Future

Disclaimer: I own nothing other than the characters of Matt, Megan, and “Doc” Dr. John Smith (based loosely on Doc Brown from Back to the Future). This one does not follow any of my previous fics, it's on its own.

Chapter 3: Let the Games Begin

After being helped out of the well I was introduced to the rest of the group. They consisted of a lecherous monk name Miroku, a young fox demon called Shippo, a pet cat demon named Kirara, and the leader of the group, the infamous Inuyasha. Based on what I could gather, Inuyasha was the muscle headed tough guy of the group, Kagome was the brains of the outfit, Miroku was the spiritual leader, not that I believe in all the hocus pocus, Sango was the warrior, and Shippo was the innocent one. As night fell we began to discuss the day's happenings.

“So what exactly happened to those jewel shards?” Inuyasha asked, rather annoyed.

“Well I, kinda, think, that maybe, when I fell in the well, that they sorta got stuck inside my chest.” I replied, not all to happy about or willing to admit it.

“They what?!?!” Inuyasha just about flipped out.

“It's not my fault!” I pleaded.

“Inuyasha! Don't yell, it wasn't his fault really. It could have happened to anyone.” Kagome retorted, sticking up for me.

“Thanks Kagome.” I said, hoping it would keep Mr. Big Sword cool.

“What happened Matt?” Sango asked.

“Well I bumped into Kagome on our way to school and she dropped her jewel shard thingy and was off. I picked it up on my home. I kinda thought it was hers, I was taking it to her when I fell down the well. I think the bottle broke and I landed on the jewel shards, placing them right here.” I pointed to my chest, right where the jewel shards were. There was a faint pink glow and everyone knew what was going to have to be done. Inuyasha fingered his sword. That made me a little nervous.

“I'm sure there is a way to remove the shards.” Miroku piped in.

“Yeah, we don't want you to get eaten or anything!” Shippo added. I turned pale at that.

“Shippo! Don't scare him like that. Don't worry, Matt, nothings going to eat you.” Kagome tried to cover up for Shippo but he wasn't lying.

“Well I, uh, that is, I'm just nervous that's all.” I tried to explain it away.

“It looks more like you've seen a ghost.” Sango said. I just gave a weak little laugh.

“We can always cut them out.” Inuyasha said, still playing with the hilt of his sword.

“Uh isn't there some other alternative?” I was getting more and more nervous by the minuet.

“We'll take you to see Kaede tomorrow; she'll know what to do.” Kagome said.

“Whatever, as long as it will get these shards out of me.” I said and laid down to go to sleep. I was really nervous, and who the heck was Kaede??
