Disclaimer: Sadly Rumiko Takahashi owns Inuyasha, if he belonged to me or any of you reading he would have actually kissed Kagome, and a whole lot more.

Be Careful What You Wish For…

He was bored.

Bored. Bored! Bored!!

Nothing interesting ever happens anymore, the hanyou thought to himself as he surveyed the land around him from his perch high above the ground, his long hair billowing in the wind.

His eyes fell upon the humans in the village not too far in the distance as they went about their daily lives. Scurrying like ants, busily working together to ensure they had enough food to last the long winter months.

He supposed he could go down there and stir up some trouble with his mere presence alone. He sighed, lost in his melancholy. There was a time when he enjoyed striking fear into the hearts of humans, now all he had to do was show his face, and they instantly responded by bowing and saying, “yes, my Lord” to his every whim. Where was the fun in that?

Gods, life was so boring since he made his wish on the jewel.

He missed the fighting. The great battles with other demons. The constant worry that maybe he wasn't as strong as he thought he was, that maybe, just maybe he would loose. He even missed wondering what Kikyou was up to, helping him one day, hindering him the next.

But, of course, that was all behind him now.

After that last great battle his name had spread far and wide. Now days everyone knew his name, knew his legend, knew of his new found power.

In the end completing the jewel and making his wish was rather anti-climactic.

Naraku sighed, he missed the old days when people tried to stand up to him.
