Beauty And The Beast
Chapter One: Inu becomes Inu
Inuyasha growled. He had been following this woman for days. No sleep. No food. Needless to say he was not in a good mood.
And why was he following her? It was rumored she held a powerful jewel. One that would give him all the power he could want. And why was a small, shiny pink jewel?
Power. With this tiny priceless ornament he would finally get his wish to become a full demon.
'No more Sesshomaru bitching about my Hanyou scent. No more Yash not being able to take over the company because the rest of the partners don't agree with his heritage...'
He was so caught up in his own grumbling he didn't notice she was on the move. She crossed a busy street, stepping into a park.
"Keh. Show time." He kicked himself away from the wall he was leaning against and stepped out of the shadow the alley cast around him. He waited for her to fully cross the street before he even stepped onto the main sidewalk. With any luck the pursuit would be over in just a few moments.
Unfortunately, he didn't know just how right he was.
He had just come to the clearing in the middle of the park when he froze. There she was in the middle of the clearing totally distracted with purifying the jewel.
'Now's my chance' He bounded into the clearing silently, claws out, poised to strike.
And that's where it ended.
All at once his muscles seized and he fell to the ground just feet away from the woman he was just about to strike down.
She turned slowly, face completely impassive.
'Wow. She and Fluffy would get along great. Both of them are emotionless as fucking stones. AAAHHHHH!!!'
Her eyes locked onto his and it suddenly felt like his head was going to explode.
She knelt down and ran her hand over his fuzzy white ears and he instantly wanted to cut them off.
She was purifying him. She smiled darkly. It was the first emotion he had seen from her and he wasn't sure he wanted to see any more.
"You honestly expected me to not feel your presence, hanyou?" She touched him again and his head screamed in pain. "And did you expect me to just let you take this," she held out the jewel so he could see it. "without a fight? Speak Hanyou."
He felt the sub-doing let up enough for him to let out a horrible snarl. The hold tightened over him once more. "Of course I forgot you were just an animal." She ran her delicate fingers across his ears again. The furry appendages tried to flick away from the burning sensation but to no avail.
If he could have cried out in pain he would have.
Kikyou pulled her hands away and tilted his chin up. "It's funny." she whispered as she gazed into his eyes. "You growl like an animal but other than certain parts you don't look like one." He didn't notice the strip of paper she pulled from one of her rather large billowing sleeves.
She pressed the slip of paper against the middle of his back and he was in more pain than he had ever been in. He could feel his muscles stretch and contract. There was a sickening 'pop' and he cringed inwardly. It sounded and felt like his joints were dislocating themselves. The same sound brought little relief. They had slid back into place.
There was an intense itching all over his body then it was over.
Kikyou laid a searing kiss between his ears and stepped away.
"Go on puppy. It's time you got home before your master notices your missing."
And with that she was gone.
'That bitch...' A soft crunching sound shook him from his thoughts and he took off before more trouble could find him.
The escape plan however was flawed. All he had managed to come up with was 'run'. So he ended up sprinting blindly through a shit ton of trees... then into the middle of the busiest street he had ever seen. The fact that everything was a helluva lot taller now than it was before he entered the park never occurred to him in his haste to escape. However he did manage to catch a glimpse of his face in the grill of the oncoming car. He did the perfect imitation of the 'deer in the headlights' look before the car struck him head on, knocking him clear off the street and over the sidewalk.
'What the fuck? I'm a dog!' Was the last thought before darkness took over.

"See you later Sango!" Kagome's voice was bright -or as bright as it could have been after working twenty four straight hours in the ER- as she called her salutations to her best friend.
Numbly she pushed her way through the revolving door in the front of Tokyo General Hospital, at the same time swiping the nurse's hat off of her head.
She wrapped her jacket around her white nurses uniform as the wind picked up slightly and took a left down the sidewalk to head for home. All that was on her mind now was a nice long bath and her warm bed, complete with her fat cat Buyou.
Or that was her thoughts until she heard the screeching tires and yelp. "Oh hell someone's been hit!" Keeping warm became the last thing on her mind as she raced toward the scene.
The driver was just getting out to check the front of the car when she reached her destination.
She slid around the front of the car expecting to see a small child sprawled out and blood everywhere. Instead she found a rather large bloody dent in the front of the car and nothing.
Her eyes cast around towards the sidewalk and beyond where she found what wasn't a child but still a heartbreaking scene.
In the grass laid a rather mangled and bloody white dog. 'That dog's huge but there's no way he could have survived an impact like that...' Though she was sure there was no chance for the dog she moved forward anyway and touched the blood soaked fur.
Her hand rose and fell. 'My god's it's still breathing!' She looked up in time to see the driver speed off. It hadn't been a person so why should he car? She called to the small group gathered where the car had been sitting. "Hey! Can someone call a cab or something? The dog's still breathing!" A rather large guy motioned for a passing cab to pull to the curb then ran to help Kagome lift the huge dog and fit it onto the back seat. "Thank you so much, sir." She smiled breathlessly, sliding into the back seat. She rested the dog's head on her lap. "We need to get this dog to the vet." She commanded the driver.
"There's no vet's open at this time a night, Ma'am. It's three in the morning!" His response showed he was less than happy with having a bloodied pony sized dog all over his back seat.
"We still have to try. It's not fair to just leave him without care." Kagome urged.
"Whatever." The cab driver took off rather roughly. Kagome had to hold the dog in place with every turn and stop he made.
Four closed vet clinics and a pint of blood later Kagome finally relented and allowed the driver to take her home. It looked like she would be doing this herself. 'But I don't know anything about being a vet...' she sighed as she handed the driver a wad of paper money. 'Oh well. I guess I am one tonight.'
It took a lot of effort but she got the dog out of the back with no help from the cab driver whom sat in his seat and watched the whole time through the rear view mirror.
Kagome had barely got the door closed before he took off.
She glared in the cab's direction then turned to the daunting task of getting the dog up the ungodly amount of stairs and onto the kitchen table. When she finally made it far enough on the stairs to see the Shrine she expected lights to be on. She always expected someone to be home.
However it was just her. Her mother and Souta moved out after her grandfather died leaving her with full run of the place. Not that she did that badly. Plus if she needed help all she had to do was borrow Souta for a day which wasn't hard considering they only lived a few blocks away.
She finally made it through the unlocked door after four tries at the handle. Once that was accomplished she didn't even bother taking off her shoes. Instead she went straight for the table where she laid the dog out and turned on the over head light.
It was quite the sight seeing the huge white dog stretching from end to end of her table. A good six inches of his body hung off and that wasn't even counting the paws. She surveyed the damage on his body with a sigh. There were scorch marks across his muzzle and all over his fuzzy pointed ears. 'Who or what does something like this?' Then she checked the rest of him finding a major cut on his shoulder and three or four minor cuts throughout his body. 'Hmm... What's this?' She ran her fingers over his back left leg. There was bone sticking through. 'From what I can tell it's a nice clean break... Shouldn't take too long to heal.'
She took a step back to take everything in then set to work. First she grabbed the sewing kit from the hall closet. The cut on the dog's neck was soaking into his fur turning the white into a deep red and brown. 'Wouldn't do to fix his leg first and then have him bleed to death...' She sighed and set to work. It took a lot of cleaning but she finally got the wound clear enough to sew it together. She stitched and spoke at the same time it made her feel quite a bit calmer. "What happened to you, Inu? You've lost so much blood. And of course there's these," she ran her fingers over the burns on his ears.
Fifteen minutes later he was sewn up. She smiled at her own handy work. "And I didn't even have to remove any hair." She turned her attention to his leg. "God I hope you don't wake up while I'm doing this..." She turned away and managed to find a couple of pieces of wood to work as a splint along with some tape and gauze for padding. It was going to be terribly done but it would be good enough for him to walk on. She grabbed the leg and winced as she snapped it back into place. As quick and as carefully as she could, she put the splint onto his leg.
Finally she was finished. Inu as she decided to name him was all patched up complete with stitches, a make-shift cast, and burn cream on his ears and muzzle.
Kagome smiled and lifted the giant dog once more and brought him into the living room. She laid him on his side with his back against the couch, grabbed the remote, then lugged his gigantic head into her lap.
Two hours later Kagome sat in the same place, fingers tracing the uninjured part of Inu's ears. At first she didn't notice his golden eyes opening.
He sat there for a moment staring at her, unmoving. 'That BITCH first she turns me into a dog then she takes me HOME?! Fuck!' His vision was still pretty blurry but there was no mistaking it. She looked just like Kikyou.
He growled. Kagome felt the hair on the back of her neck rise. Slowly she looked down, eyes openly broadcasting her utter fear. 'Now the bitch is scared...' He rolled, jaws already snapping. He didn't care what part of her he grabbed. He was going to grab something and hold on until she took the stupid spell or whatever the hell it was off of him.
He finally rolled onto his feet and lunged at her. Kagome's hand tightened around the remote and she brought it around like a bat.
CRACK!!! She swung the remote like a Louisville slugger. And it felt like one when it connected with the side of his skill.
For the second time that night, Inuyasha was down for the count.
