InuYasha Fan Fiction ❯ Beauty and the Beast ❯ Chapter Nine ( Chapter 9 )
A/N: Wow. I finely updated. I'm almost finished with chapter ten, it should be up tomorrow, but I'm not promising anything. I'm SO sorry I haven't updated. I've been at my grandparents, and we don't have the net there, and I'm pretty sick. I might have to have surgery soon, so...bah. Thanks for the reviews, I hope you all are still reading and haven't given up on me!
Disclaimer: I hate these damn things...okay, I don't own InuYasha, Kagome does, and we all know who they, in turn, belong to. Which isn't me, mores the pity. Do own this piece of fiction based on InuYasha and the fairy tale "Beauty and the Beast", so you steal, I kill.
Morning sunlight flooded into the large room Kagome now shared with InuYasha, and she moaned, rolling onto her side and curling herself in a ball, pulling her covers over her head in a vain attempt to fall back into sleep. After a few minutes of basking in the warmth of the covers she stretched her arms above her head, un-curling her body and yawning as her rumpled head appeared from under the blankets.
She tossed one arm to the other side of the bed, groping blindly, not opening her eyes for the bright light that assaulted her. She encountered only cold sheets that told her plainly InuYasha was out of bed and had been for a while.
Kagome opened her eyes slightly, blinking rapidly to clear the sleep from her eyes. She looked around the room, not finding InuYasha anywhere. In the week that they had mated (Kagome gave a soft smile and blushed) this was the first time she had awoken to an empty room and bed. In fact, this was the first time that she had not been within InuYasha sight since their dinner together...
She slipped out of bed and pulled a sleeping robe on, knotting it together quickly and then paddling out of the room, finding InuYasha sitting on the balcony off the sitting room. She grinned and walked to him, sliding her arms around his waist when she reached him.
He pulled her in front of him, holding her too his body and leaning over, pressing a kiss to the top of her head. She leaned into him, still warm and drowsy, and he let out a rumble of contentment. They would have stayed like that for hours had Miroku not came bursting in the door.
"InuYasha, we've got a problem." InuYasha lifted his head and looked over at Miroku, who had a hard look on his face, the knuckles of the hand that was holding his staff white pressure. InuYasha looked at him, face set in a scowl has he tucked Kagome closer to him.
"What is it?" He snapped, and Miroku drew in a deep breath. Though he appeared outwardly calm, except for his grip on his staff, which kept tightening, Kagome could feel the unease flowing off him.
"There's a wolf demon and part of his pack outside. He says he's came for Kagome-and that Kagome is his woman." Kagome's face turned pale and her eyes went wide, and at once InuYasha began to admit a growl. He looked down at Kagome, who was staring at Miroku in shock, and bared his teeth.
"What the fuck is he talking about!?" Anger and hurt was radiating off InuYasha and Kagome shook her head, her hands tightening in the clothe of his fire-rat robe.
"He was courting me in my village. He never got the hint that I just didn't want him." His arm tightened around him, though he didn't have that betrayed look on his face. His body tightened and he nodded at Miroku, soothing a hand over Kagome's back before letting her go and striding out of the room, Miroku on his heels.
Kagome stood there for a moment; in shock that Kouga had found her, before gathering her wits about her and running out after them. When she made it too the entrance hall a shiver raced through her body, full of pure anger, and she knew, somehow, that it was InuYasha's feelings leaking into her.
She pushed the doors open and stepped out, greeted with the sight of InuYasha snarling and glaring daggers at Kouga, who was in the middle of bellowing at them to give "his woman" back to him, that very instant.
He caught sight of her and began to move towards her, but InuYasha moved quicker then the human eye could follow and stood in front of her, grasping the hilt of his sword. Kagome had seen it out of its scabberd only once before, and then it had been a normal katana, though rusted and looking as though it couldn't cut soft butter. Now it was a seven-foot fang, gleaming in the light, and fairly singing in eagerness to cut the wolf demon down.
All Kagome could do was blink.
""Kouga, what are you doing?"
"I've come to save you Kagome!" Kagome heaved a sigh and closed her eyes, rubbing a hand across her face.
"I don't need saved, Kouga. I'm happy here." Kouga stopped moving, staring at Kagome, head tilted and resembling a confused little puppy. InuYasha, on the other hand, puffed up.
"You...Oh, I get it!" Kouga sent Kagome a pitying looking, then sent InuYasha an evil glare. "You're saying that because you don't want them to hurt you, or me!" Sango could do nothing more then look at Kagome, mouth open in shock that someone could really be that dense.
"Don't worry, Onee-chan, we'll save you!" Ginta, Kouga's right hand man...er...wolf yelled, waving his sword.
"Kouga, Ginta, you don't have to save me. I'm staying here."
"Damn right! She's my mate, and I'll be damned if you touch her, you wimpy ass wolf!" InuYasha snarled. Kagome felt a tick beginning in her eye when he and Kouga began to trade insults, Kouga steadfast in the claim that she was his woman, and that InuYasha, or Inukuro as Kouga called him, was nothing but a lying bastard.
It didn't really help when Ginta and other two wolf demon's with Kouga entered the spar, Sango and Miroku placed themselves beside and in front of Kagome, keeping them from stealing her.
Kagome didn't know, for sure, how long she listen to InuYasha and Kouga snarl at each other, taking swipes and blows at each other with their swords, fists, and claws, before she could take no more.
"Stop it!" At her yell, everyone stopped moving, turned to look at her. She was a generally a calm, quiet girl, and Kouga and his followers had never seen her fly into a rage. Now they did, and none of them, not a single person there, ever wanted to be witness to that sight again.
"I'm not an object, damnit! I'll stay where I want, and go where I want! And, thank you very much Kouga, I'm staying here!" I'm not being forced to do anything!" Kouga opened his mouth to tell her she was, of course, wrong, but was stopped when a large fire-cat dive-bombed the wolf demons out of the sky, snarling, every hair on her body standing at end.
Sango grinned and Miroku nodded his head, Kagome was unable to move, sure that she was about to take the last breaths of their lives.
The wolf demons grabbed Kouga and drug him away, while he bellowed out a promise that he would be back and would be taking Kagome with him upon his return, when the large fire-cat turned around, eyeing Kagome. She moved forward, Sango and Miroku letting her pass by them and stand right in front of Kagome.
She didn't know why they let this huge cat do this, and without a doubt she knew she was going to be dinner for the great cat.
The cat stretched her neck out, sniffing Kagome delicately. And then, to Kagome's surprise, she let out a rumbling purr, and in a flash of fire turned into a tiny little cat, two tails swishing behind her, and jumped onto Kagome shoulder, nuzzling her face into Kagome's neck.
Kagome squeaked and gave a wide-eyed look of surprise to Sango who was stifling laughter behind her hand.
"What..." Kagome's throat was too tight to finish asking her question, and the cat jumped from her shoulder into Sango's arms.
"This is Kiara, Kagome. She's my companion." Kagome made a small sound in the back of her throat, nodding her head once.
"Oh. I...Oh." Was all she could manage to get out, and Sango burst into laughter again, Kiara purring in her arms and looking at Kagome with what seemed to be an amused expression in her eyes. Apparently, InuYasha had had more then enough and slid his sword back into its scabbard, then moved quickly, scooping Kagome into his arms and heading into the castle.
Kagome let out a squeak and wrapped her arms around his neck, surprised at the sudden movement, pressing her face against him.
She could feel the tenseness rolling off his body in waves, and a low, constant growl rumbled from him. In an effort to calm him, she curled herself tight against his body, pressing a kiss against his neck. His arms tightened around her for a moment, and when he slammed into his rooms, kicking the door closed behind him with enough force that Kagome was surprised it hadn't splintered into pieces, he sat her on feet, backed her against the wall and knotting her hair in one clinched fist.
She opened her mouth to say something, not even sure what it was she was going to say, when he lowered his head, slanting his mouth over hers. His mouth ravaged her desperately, passionately, demanding all she was and more.
Kagome more then willingly kissed him back, pouring herself in it, trying to tell him with this kiss that everything was okay, that she would not be leaving him, and she was still here, his to the last.
His claws ripped the sleeping robe from her body, the hand still knotted in her hair tilting her had farther back as he ravaged her mouth, pressing hard against her. She whimpered, lifting her arms and twining them around his neck, earning herself a grow of approval.
She wasn't exactly sure how, but InuYasha rid himself of his clothing, and his hands were on her hips, lifting her up. She wrapped her legs around him and at once he was inside her, hard and hot, pulling a cry from her.
Kagome opened her heavy-lidded eyes, seeing InuYasha's burning down on her.
"You're mine, Kagome. Mine." He leaned down slightly and gripped her knee, pulling it over his hip, driving him deeper then Kagome thought was possible. She cried out, squeezing her eyes closed at the incredible burst of pleasure.
She moaned, her nails raking across his back as she arched against him, feeling herself flying towards peak.
"Say it Kagome. Say you're mine." She could do nothing more then move and writhe against him, moaning in the pleasure that swamped her entire being. "Say it!" By some force of will, she managed to open her eyes.
"Yours. I'm yours, InuYasha." She gasped out as she came, her eyes rolling back in her head as she let out a soundless scream, throat working hard, and InuYasha growled in approval, slamming into her one more time before emptying his seed into her.
She slumped against him, body still shaking in the aftermath of their love making, and pressed an open mouth kissed to his chest. He pulled her against him and stumbled to their bed, falling into it, a tangle of bodies and long hair, cradling her against his chest.
"I love you..." She whispered before falling into a stated sleep. InuYasha smiled, a proud, arrogant smile that only a male that had satisfied his mate could have, though it was filled with tenderness. He nuzzled the top of her head, breathing her scent in, rumbling happily.
"I know you do, koi."
