~~Prologue~~
Kagome sighed, silence at last.
There was a loud crash down the hall followed by several loud voices and a constant cry.
She was about to scream, all she wanted was a moment of peace but since Sesshoumaru left Kagome couldn't get a second to silence. Kagome stomped to the door and opened it. Her eyes shot to those responsible for the noise and held them still with a death glare, "Be quiet!" With a slam of her door she resisted the urge to scream.
Her eyes landed on the crib next to her bed and her anger melted away. She walked over and looked down at her little boy, "Shhh, sweetie its okay." Kagome picked him up and started to rock him back and forth while singing softly.
His crying quieted and died away, replaced with a smile and sleepy eyes.
The singing quieted further as he started to fall asleep and stopped when his breathing evened out. Kagome laid him back in the crib carefully and sat on the bed.
Ever since Sesshoumaru left it was hard to keep their son from crying every ten minutes. It was almost impossible to think that a child so loud could be related to Sesshoumaru at all.
A smile lit her face, then again he was her son too.
There was a knock at the door.
"Yes?"
A servant poked their head in and spoke quietly, "My Lord has returned."
Kagome's smile widened, "Thank you, let him know I am in here."
"He wished for you to meet him in his study..."
She rolled her eyes, "Well I am not waking up Kai."
The servant smiled, "I understand my Lady, I will relay your message."

Sesshoumaru sat at his desk over-looking the scrolls that had built up in his absence. He sighed, it was good to be home though he wished there wasn't such a demand to see him since his return.
The door opened to reveal a servant, "My Lady says she will wait in your chambers my Lord." Knowing where Sesshoumaru's train of thought was going he said, "I did let her know of your request but she has just put Prince Kai to bed."
"Understood, you may go."
Moments later Koa stepped into the study and stood in silence.
He looked up, "Yes?"
"Shinjiru returned."
Sesshoumaru turned his full attention on Koa now, "And?"
A smile reached his eyes, "She found her."
His eyes closed, "Good, and how is she?"
"Injured but not dead as we were led to believe. I have seen her several times since she returned and everyday Sitora improves."
"Has my mate been informed?"
"Oh of course. Lady Kagome has seen her almost everyday and has taken Tai to see her as well."
He nodded once, "As soon I as have seen my mate and pup I will see her."
"I will let her know." Koa left in a hurry without another word.
He shook his head, it seemed like life was returning to normal.
After spending much time looking over scrolls Sesshoumaru stood and stretched, the sun had nearly set from the sky leaving stars to appear in its wake.
Sesshoumaru left his study and walked leizurely to his now shared chambers.
Learning to live with Kagome was an experience. Not long after she came to live with him they discovered she was pregnant. This made life more stressful but they made it. Tai was born almost a year ago and Sesshoumaru was proud of his son.
The only problem was not long after Tai's birth he was called away on business and hadn't been home for more than a month since then. Needless to say it was causing much stress to his mate and him. Being away from home for so long was getting to him, he missed his mate's love and his new son.
This time Sesshoumaru had put a halt to it though, he needed to be with his family and refused to do otherwise. Everytime he came home he and Kagome would spend that time fighting and he was sick of it.
Sesshoumaru opened his door quietly and closed it behind him. Kagome was laying on the bed with her back to him, she was facing Tai's crib. He walked around the bed and looked down at his slumbering son, Sesshoumaru reached down and smoothed his hand over Tai's head.
"If you wake him I will rip your arm off." It was a quiet whisper but she knew he heard.
He smirked and looked down into the eyes of his mate. "You should be sleeping Kagome."
"I wanted to see you." She sat up and held his hands as he looked down at her. "I missed you."
His eyes softened greatly, "I missed you as well." He leaned down and kissed her lightly.
Kagome pulled away a little, leaving inches between them, "How long do I have?"
A soft smile lit his face as he looked at the pleading look in her eyes, "I'm not leaving."
She backed away further, "You're not?"
He shook his head, "No I belong here with you and him."
Kagome launched into his arms and hugged him tighly. "I love you."
His heart warmed, "I love you too Kagome."

Inuyasha watched as the littlest addition to the family 'goo-ed' and 'gaa-ed' as he saw the butterflies in the grass.
"Hey Inuyasha."
He looked up and smiled, "Hey there your Highness."
She glared playfully at him and pinched his ear.
"Hey what was that for wench?!"
"Don't be rude."
"I wasn't I was being completely polite." He rubbed his abused ear and muttered to himself about evil wenches.
"I can hear that Inuyasha!"
He crossed his arms over his chest, "No you can't."
Sesshoumaru rolled his eyes at the two as he walked out.
Kagome smiled as she picked up Kaido, "Hi baby boy." She held him close and gigled as he cooed at her. A smile lit her features when Sesshoumaru walked up behind her and smoothed his palm over Kaido's head.
She looked back as Inuyasha, "So how's everyone doing?"
"Sango and Miroku are expecting their second, he's as perverted as ever and she's as moody as ever. Shippo's hanging in there, but with Rin there he has someone to play with." Inuyasha shrugged, "Thats about it."
"What about you and Kikyo?"
He tensed and looked back at her, "Why what have you heard?"
Kagome's eyebrows knit together, "Nothing I was just wondering."
Inuyasha's ears went back, "Well we're expecting our first soon."
She looked at him in surpirse, "No way..."
He nodded with a sheepish smile, "Yeah."
"Oh my gosh i am so happy for you!" Kagome smiled at her long time friend, then looked up at her mate and smiled wider, "I guess there is such a thing as happily ever after."
