Been A While-
CHAPTER 2

Once Kagome was done Kohaku's sister Sango came out from the back where she had been cleaning up the kitchen from her shift to enjoy the conversation.
"Hi.. I'm Sango!“ she said walking up behind Kohaku. “We are Japanese as well but we have never been there before. What’s it like?" Sango asked curiously.
Kagome started to happily explain.

A half hour later Sango had become Kagome's best friend and they were putting Kagome's stuff away in her apartment.
"So Kagome, if you liked living with your family in Japan so much then why did you move here?" Sango asked.
"When my father was in his early twenties he moved to America to get an education in rocket science to become an astronaut, Even though we have that in Japan he knew my grandfather would force him to work at the family shrine in Tokyo. didn't want to be a priestess either(or in Kag's dad's case a priest) and that is one of the reasons why I am here, but my father moved here. I know it's a ways from Cape Canaveral but by he
wanted to live near the coast to see the ocean. Four months after he left they found out that my mother was pregnant with me.” Kagome said, blushing because she knew how it had happened.
(A/N: Of course! Kagome’s mom is one of those mom's who thinks their daughter is there best friend so they tell them absolutely everything! Like Miroku would say........That must have been 1 interesting conversation...Heh heh heh that lech.)
“He stayed for about five years and then came back every summer and Christmas until my
younger brother was born. He left when my brother turned 4 and came back every summer and winter for the next ten years. Then last winter right after Valentines Day, he died. His lawyers read his will and told me that he’d left his apartment to me".
Sango was almost reduced to tears.
“Kagome! How can you not be heart broken!? What about when you get married!? What about the father daughter dance!?” Sango exclaimed with beads of tears streaming down her cheeks.
Kagome let out a small giggle then a sigh. “You’re one of those types huh?” Kagome asked.
“I'm lucky to have just had my father. My childhood friend never even knew his father do to the fact he disappeared right after he was born.” Kagome told Sango.
“Childhood friend? Why aren't you friends now? Did he hurt you or do something bad or
something?” Sango asked.
“No, he moved away when I was about nine. I haven't seen him since,” Kagome sighed, “I know it sounds a bit young but he was my first and only love. I even got an accidental first kiss from him! .......…(voice starts to crack).................but now.............I don't even remember his name.” Kagome replied her bangs covering her eyes and shading her face.
Sango looked sympathetically at her friend who went silent and was now putting away clothes obviously remembering something painful.

After about eight or nine hours, they were finally done with the unpacking.
Kagome sleepily said goodbye to Sango and plopped down onto her blue suede couch,
turned on the TV, and soon fell asleep in the room, dark and quiet except for the light and sound playing on the TV.
