“What, you can’t be serious Inu Yasha,”
“Too bad because I’m dead serious. She is going to travel with us whether you like it or not.” The hanyou growled. Miroku stuttered at his friend while Sango clenched and unclenched her fist. Shippo and Kilala froze in their spots. Kikyo stood at Inu Yasha side.
“How did you two come to this agreement anyway?”
“Feh, I found her in the forest.”
************************FLASHBACK*********************** ****************************
‘Damn that wench, she should be getting back soon, She said that today was her final day and then she’d be back by morning, but we got to find Naraku.”
“Inu Yasha,” The hanyou turned seeing the dead priestess.
“Kikyo, what are you doing here?”
“I’ve come to ask you a question; if you will not allow it then I will leave.”
“No, I’ll accept your question, what is it?”
“The final battle is upon us, and I wanted to ask if we could travel to Naraku’s hideout together.”
“I can’t abandon my friends Kikyo, after all these years.”
“I’m not asking for us to venture alone, I’m asking to join your party.”
“Join up; you want to join my pack?”
“If you’ll let me-”
“Yes, Kikyo you can join us.” He nodded. Kikyo looked about and blinked,
“Where’s my reincarnate, I do not sense her aura,”
“Kagome went back to her home, she and her family are celebrating something, and I just can’t remember what it was exactly.”
“I see, I wish to see my sister Inu Yasha, can we go now?” Inu Yasha nodded.

Kaede sighed shaking her head, “Inu Yasha did you think about Kagome’s reaction before allowing my sister to join your pack?”
“Feh, Kagome will be fine,” He answered gruffly. Sango looked at Miroku and shook her head. Quickly she whispered to him.
“Kagome comes back tomorrow; we should honestly go and wait for her.”
“Any ideas as to what we should do when she returns.”
“Um, well we should try and explain to Kagome why Kikyo is here before Inu Yasha comes and screams at her about it. If that happens then Kagome-”
“Kagome will end up going back to her time all upset. Does dog boy realize what Kagome feels for him? I mean how long has it been?”
“Nearly four years, Kagome’s birthday was last week wasn’t it,”
“Yes, and summer is shortly upon us, so I believe you are correct.” Miroku nodded. Inu Yasha shouted at him.
“What are you two whispering about over there? Why are you talking about Kagome?”
“Oh, nothing, we’re just counting how many years Kagome has been with us. I can’t believe she is nineteen now.” Miroku smiled. Kikyo looked down into her lap.
‘Just how old would I be if I were still alive?’
“Enough chatter everyone, dinner will get cold if ye don’t hurry and eat it.”
================================================
Kagome smiled as she landed safely in the feudal era. “Finally no, school to bother me, and maybe since I’m done with that no complaining from Inu Yasha. Mmmfff,” Kagome dragged her bag trying to pull it all she could. “Kami, momma what did you put in my pack this time, all I asked for was some extra clothes.”
“Hey Kagome, I knew I heard your voice.”
“Sango, hey,”
“Good morning Kagome, “
“Morning Miroku, hey where is Inu Yasha and Shippo? Are they arguing again?
“Oh, uh, they are still resting”
“Resting still, Inu Yasha’s always up early. Is he sick?”
“No, he overdid it a little yesterday; Kaede is watching him right now with the aid of Shippo.” Miroku answered. Sango and Kagome pulled her bag up and over the lip of the well.
“Kami Kagome, what’s in your bag this time? More books?”
“Oh no, I finally finished school. I don’t need books any more.”
“So why is it so heavy?”
“When I asked momma for more clothes I think she might have thrown my entire closet inside.” She laughed lightly. Sango and Miroku laughed weakly and cleared their throats.
“Um Kagome I think we should tell you something before we go to Kaede’s. It’s about Inu Yasha,”
“Oh, Miroku did he get hurt? Let me see him,”
“Uh no, no it isn’t that it’s-”
“It’s the monk that’s going to be hurt if he doesn’t answer why he put his charms on me.” Inu Yasha stomped up pulling said monk aside. Sango noticed Kikyo and blocked her from view.
“Huh, Inu Yasha is you okay?”
“Just fine wench,”
“Then why are you mad at Miroku, and how come he had to use charms on you?”
“Well- actually-” Sango blocked Kagome from moving about her and blurted. “Miroku and I just wanted to give you a happy good morning greeting you know, to start you’re day off nicely.”
“Thanks you guys, I really need that, this week hasn’t at all been great. “ Kagome eyed her friend. “How come you won’t let me see Inu Yasha?”
“It isn’t Inu Yasha the taijiya is trying to block out. It is me reincarnate.” Kikyo said. Kagome blinked as Sango finally let go.
“Oh, um hi Kikyo what are you doing here?”
“She’s part of the pack, woman, Kikyo wants to help us fight off Naraku.” Kagome fell back against the well, smiling weakly.
“Oh, so I guess all that stuff about Inu Yasha and the nice good morning was a lie, so I wouldn’t,”
“No, the good morning part was true we just,” Miroku said running to her. Sango grabbed the girl’s arms dragging her into the forest.
“I’m sorry Kagome. We just, she came with Inu Yasha to Kaede’s yesterday, and I thought that it are easier to break the news to you by ourselves instead of Yasha blowing up in your face. I know how you feel about Inu Yasha and the past couple of time I saw you come back with a frown or anger in your eyes, it hurt. I was trying to make it a whole lot better, but I guess it didn’t work as planned.”
“No, no Sango, I feel tons better, having someone else aside from Inu Yasha tell me what’ going on. Thanks,” Kagome smiled.
“Are you okay then?”
“Yeah, I mean Kikyo being apart of our group could make things easier for us when we fight you know. I’m sure thing might go a little quicker than before I just know it.”
“You’re sure then, you don’t feel angry at Inu Yasha for not asking you your opinion first?”
“Well, maybe a little disappointed, but I’m okay.” Kagome nodded. Sango smiled and hugged her.
“Okay then, shall we begin our journey for the day.”
“Yes,” Kagome nodded and followed her. It did not feel right to lie, but she had to. Sango had other things to worry and think about. Inside her heart felt slow, and tightened, with sadness.
================================================
Inu Yasha glared at the monk while Kikyo watched from across the well. Miroku was getting sweatier by the seconds. If Sango and Kagome did not come back soon, then he would be gone too. “Well monk you know what Sango was doing, so where is she?”
“We’re here!” Kagome smiled. Inu Yasha watched as she slowly made her way into the Clearing and stood by Miroku. He hugged her tightly.
“Oh thank you Kagome, I was sure I was dead!”
“Why, what did Inu Yasha do?”
“I asked him where you went. So now that your back, can we get a move on?”
“First things first,” Kagome took a deep breath and walked over to Kikyo. “Kikyo, welcome,”
“Thank you, reincarnate.” Kagome winced at that, but smiled anyway. Inu Yasha caught the sadness in Kagome scent and went to ask her about it, but unfortunately, Kagome was trying to pull her bag away from the well. He picked it up for her. Kagome did not look in his eyes when saying thank you, but kept her eyes on her feet.
“Are you okay, Kagome?”
“Uh-huh,”
“Do you want to go now or,”
“Yeah, let’s go, I haven’t seen Shippo in months!” Sango giggled at her friend.
“It’s been a week Kagome, not months.”
“Yeah, but it till feels like months, Can we go please?”
“Come on Kagome!” Sango smiled. Kagome ran after her and started laughing.
“Hold up Sango!”
“Ladies I believe you’re forgetting someone!” Miroku followed and Inu Yasha stared at Kikyo.
“Aren’t you coming?”
“Yes, I am coming,”
******************************************************** *************************
“Kagome Are you Okay?” Shippo fretted.
“Yes, I’m fine, should I be upset?”
“Well, Inu Yasha brought Kikyo here and said that she was traveling with us. When Kikyo is always near Inu Yasha, you get upset.”
“I’m okay promise, besides whatever they do it’s their business.”
“Kagome,”
“Yeah,”
R 20;Are you sure you’re not a tiny bit upset? Your scent tells me that you’re sad.” Shippo looked at Kagome noticing her small sad smile.
“I’m here for my friends, not for some silly little crush right? Kikyo’s being here doesn’t bother me.” She held her knees to her chest, resting her head on them. They sat on the porch waiting for everyone to catch up. Kaede, sitting in the garden groaned.
‘My dear child, the love you hold for Inu Yasha must hurt so much. If only the young man realized it.’
‘Kaede, do you need help?”
“Oh Kagome, no, no this old woman does not need help today. It is a slow day today.”
“Oh ok,” Kagome nodded turning away. Kaede touched her arm.
“Are you all right, you don’t look at all well. Do you want some tea?”
“No, thanks, I’m all set, we’re going to go soon I’ll unpack some of my stuff to leave with you, is that okay?”
“Of course child,” Kagome hugged the woman and entered the hut, inside she saw Kikyo standing by Inu Yasha and Sango with Shippo and Miroku on the other side of him. Kagome opened her bag pulling out extra first aid Kits and food. She took out some extra coloring material brought for Shippo and some clothes.
“Are you ready Kagome?”
“Yeah, just let me get my bike, and then we shall be off.” She stepped out side nearly bumping into Kaede.
“Oh, excuse me child, I wasn’t paying attention.”
“No, it’s my fault anyway.”
“Kagome, I need to know something,”
“Uh-huh?”
“Whenever you’re down or upset will you come to me to talk,”
“Um, sure Kaede,” She nodded.
“Oi wench let’s get a move on!”
“All right I heard you!” Kagome shouted back. “Bye Kaede.”
****************************************ThatNight******** ***********************************
Sango watched her friend gaze into the hot mineral water. She has been quiet all day, except for when Shippo talked to her. Kagome barely ate her dinner too. “Hey Gome, are you sure you’re okay.”
“Yeah, it’s just a little weird, “
“What is?”
“Inu Yasha and Kikyo, I mean never in the years we traveled together was he that quiet or nice. He talks to Kikyo with so much politeness; I sometimes wonder what it is that makes him do that. Is it because they love each other or is it because he knew her for so long?”
“If that’s the case then he should be acting the same way around you. We’ve known each other for a few years now.”
“No, he wouldn’t, I met him after their break up, when I first saw him, and he thought I was originally Kikyo by my features. He was heartbroken then and I tried to mend it back together with smiling and talking to him.”
“Kagome, that still doesn’t give him an excuse. “ Sango said. Kagome sighed sitting on the rock. “You don’t deserve to be talked to that way, no one does.”
“I know, but maybe he talks to her that way because he still loves her. I see it every time he looks at her.” Kagome stepped onto the towel and wrapped her robe about her. Sango swam to the side pulling at the bottom of the robe.
“Where are you going to go, back to camp?”
“Yeah, it’s late, and we’ll need our sleep.”
“Okay, I’ll go too, Kilala,” Sango jumped out Kilala covering her frame as she dried and dressed. Kagome did not bother to dress and went followed after the large cat. “Kagome your doing that thing I hate,”
“Hmm, Oh I’m sorry! Is this better?” Kagome smiled. Sango shook her head.
“Only if it were a true smile,”
“I’m sorry,”
“Don’t worry about it, I bet you in no time that we’ll be used to this. Trust me,”
‘I hope you’re right Sango-Chan.’

Inu Yasha looked down at Kagome who was still in a bathrobe. “Why aren’t you dressed wench?”
“I was too tired to put anything on; I’ll be in my sleeping bag anyway. No one will see anything.”
“Feh, stupid onna,” Kagome pulled the zipper shut turning away from him. Watching as the fire danced she felt Shippo curl into her side.
“Momma,” He mumbled drowsily. Sango turned to the monk who simply shrugged.
“Good night Kagome,”
“Good night Sango, Miroku,” She tilted her head back slightly at Kikyo and Inu Yasha. “Good night you two,”
“Good night reincarnate.”
“Feh go to sleep.”
“Inu Yasha, top being so rude to Kagome, or I Swear I’ll suck you into my wind tunnel.”
“What did I say monk, alls I said was get to sleep, no harm in that?”
“Not to you of course, but to Kagome, it’s very hurtful.”
“No it isn’t,” he argued back. Sango looked up at him.
“Yes, it is, you should honestly treat Kagome with more respect,”
“Sango, Miroku, its okay, just go to sleep. I’m used to it by now,” Kikyo looked at her reincarnates gaze and found sadness. The others stayed quiet while Kagome tried to sleep. Their eyes set on Inu Yasha. ‘Please you people do not worry about me, I will heal from this I am sure of it.’
************************************************************ *********************
“What do you want to see Naraku, Inu Yasha and his pack is now asleep, do you wish to check up on Sesshomaru the Lord of the west or Kouga the wolf Prince?”
“Neither, we’ll watch Inu Yasha and his pack dream for now, and while their dreaming I’ll think up a plan for that Kagome girl.”
“What do you plan on doing to her Naraku?”
“She feels so much sadness from the hanyou and Kikyo; perhaps I could go and make her feel better.”
“Are you going tonight?” Kanna asked. Naraku shook his head.
“Soon, but not too soon, I want to see how exactly this small rift changes things between the pack.”
“Of course Naraku,”
******************************************************** *************************
Kagome groaned as she scribbled in her diary. They did not even notice her there. Inu Yasha and Kikyo, they have been acting way to close lately and it was making her sick. It started just two weeks ago too. Blowing a furious breath Kagome shut her diary and stormed out of the campsite. She sat by the river and tried to calm herself. ‘I can’t believe them, didn’t they even notice that I was awake. Honestly,” Stripping out of her school uniform she slipped into the cool refreshing water. “I’m so tired of being a ghost to him, not only that but the mirror reflection of Kikyo. I am Kagome Higurashi, my own person, not some look alike or a reincarnate, maybe I should change.” Kagome played with her hair looking into the water. She heard something slip into the water and turned. Nothing was there. “Um who’s there?” She stepped back into a hard body. She was going to scream, but a hand came up covering her mouth.
“Quiet little miko, do not scream,” Kagome gulped and nodded feeling the hand slip away, and onto her hip. She turned to him covering herself.
“N-Naraku, why are you here?” She shuddered. He smiled darkly.
“I heard the song of help from a little miko, and thought I could be of some assistance.
“A song, for help,”
“Yes, did you not just speak about hating the fact that you’re a reincarnate? That you want to look different?”
“Well, I-”
“I am here to help, you see little miko, I’ve been watching you. You care so much for your friends’ safety than your own. You even sob while no one is looking about the fact that you are not Kikyo’s look- a -like, and that you are Kagome. Almost like right now.”
“W what are you willing to do? What’s the catch?”
“My side of the bargain has to do with the jewel-” He pressed his hands against her hip feeling her small back against his stomach.
“You are not getting my shards. I can’t do that,”
“Of course, but it isn’t just the shards I desire.”
“What else is it that you want?”
“First off, I want to give my shards to you; you can hide it and keep it safe for me. I haven’t found the rest of the shards of course, but what I want you to do is put it together.” He began to kiss his neck and Kagome tried to move away. Naraku pulled her tighter against him. She whimpered slightly, but caught herself.
“No, I can’t this is wrong, very wrong, Inu Yasha-”
“He doesn’t even now that I am not here nor does he care that you are here with me. The only thing on his mind is his intended.”
“I intended isn’t that- his soon to be mate his fiancé?”
“Yes, I am sad to say that he has chosen the clay onna, over you. You must be heartbroken, little miko.” He whispered into her ear, “The reincarnate pushed away for a bag of dirt and bones.” Kagome turned toward him now furious.
“I am not a reincarnate to anybody Naraku; I’m not a look-a-like, reflection or their shadow. I am different. I do not want to look anything like here anymore!” Naraku chuckled at her; Kagome felt him pull her into his lap and froze. He kissed her chest and she blushed red. “Stop, please,’
“You want to be different than Kikyo, you want to look different?”
“Yes, but-”
“I can solve that problem easily miko,” He grinned. Kagome blinked and thought.
‘Should I trust him? Will he trick me?’ She lifted his mouth off her neck. “Naraku, there are two other things I want,”
“What exactly are these desires? I will warn you that it may cost you dearly.” Kagome felt him touch her sacred area and gasped out in pleasure and fear.
‘I can’t do this with him, please body calm down!’ She looked at him. “I want you to heal Miroku’s hand, lift his family’s curse”
“Allow the monk to live, that little miko will come with a very high price.”
“I’ll do it what ever it is just please I want him to be happy. And Sango, give Kohaku back let him remember his sister,” Naraku narrowed his gaze at her.
“You want for me to give up my most fateful servant, and free the monk of his family’s curse?”
“Please, Naraku, let them be happy, Sango is the only one of her village left. And Miroku let him be able to live a life where he could have a family.” She begged.
“Little miko, are you certain?”
“Yes, I’d do anything,”
“Perfect,” He chuckled. Kagome gulped her mind reeling with thoughts on what he would do. “Just perfect, do you know the other reason I am here tonight?
“No, why are you here?” Kagome felt him touch her body again.
“I desire your body, I want you little miko,”
“What, are you going to absorb me, but” Kagome tried to back away.
“No, that is not why I have come; I desire your body for my pleasures.” Kagome looked at him wide eyed.
‘Kami he wants me so he could, but I’m, I am still-”
“Do you disagree little miko? This is what I desire from you.” He pushed her onto the grass climbing over her. She stuttered with her words.
“Naraku, I, I can’t I’m, you,”
“You want for me to give your friend s their happiness yes?”
“Yes,”
“Then you can allow me to do this.” He kissed her lips and Kagome whimpered, submitting to him. He touched her breasts and pressed her navel hearing moans slip from her sweet mouth. He then thrust his fingers into her feeling her grasp his hair.
“N, Naraku-”
In the bushes, blue eyes stared as his enemy pleasured Kagome. His eyes were full of disappointment as he watched. Kagome rolled her hips underneath Naraku’s mouth as he played with her. She rasped out his name and pulled him closer to her heated mound. It was not long until she called for him falling back against the ground. Naraku kissed her lips before standing to gather his clothes. She watched as he pulled a vile from inside the pile of clothing handing it to her.
“Drink this little miko,”
“What, what is this it looks like blood,”
“That’s exactly what it is, Inu Youkai blood to be precise. I want you to drink it.”
“The blood where did you-”
“That is not your concern and before you ask it isn’t the hanyou’s” Kagome nodded and drank it. She nearly gagged at the taste, but swallowed every drop. Naraku was in his baboon pelt ready to depart. Kagome quivered.
“Now, before you return you should wash my scent off your body, if the hanyou finds out then you can forget about what you asked of me tonight.”
“Right, I will.” Kagome nodded. She moved into the water shivering slightly at its coolness. She turned to look at him, but he was gone. ‘Oh Kami what have I done? What exactly does he want from me? Oh no, I should get back before Inu Yasha notices that I am gone.’
********************************************************** **************************************************************
Inu Yasha grumbled lowly as he stared at the empty sleeping bag. She has been gone for a good while now, maybe a little too long. He moved to sit straight when he heard something in the bushes. “Who’s there?”
“Shh, Inu Yasha you’ll wake the others,”
“Kagome what-”
“Shh, I just went for a walk. Keep your voice down wills you?”
“At this hour, don’t you lie to me Kagome?”
“I’m not lying. I just feel stressed out so leave me alone okay.”
“Why did you go unprotected? Naraku could have been out here or a monster with jewel shards.”
“Well Naraku wasn’t there Inu Yasha and neither were wild Youkai. I’m going to go to sleep now,” Kagome stormed over to her bag curling beside Shippo. Inu Yasha groaned.
“Not this again.” The hanyou sighed and looked at the pouting Miko, “Why are you mad at me now?”
“Because you won’t leave me alone, just pay attention to your intended.”
“My what,”
“You heard me,”
“My intended, what are you?” he saw her pout even more. “Kikyo, this is about Kikyo, isn’t it?”
“Who else would it be Inu Yasha; you did mark her as your intended didn’t you?”
“No, I never placed my mark on her. Where did this come from?”
“Stop lying about it okay, it’s very easy to notice.”
“I never placed my mark on her Kagome,” Kagome turned away from him. “Kagome-”
‘I’m tired Inu Yasha just forgets it okay?”
“How can ignore that?”
