Today was the day.He was going to tell the woman he adored dearly, deep inside of course.That he loved her with all of his heart.He couldn't hold his happiness in any longer,he exhaled deeply.Trying to calm himself down as he quickly walked from the god tree.The spot where he'd go all of the time to remind himself of the first day he met her.
Kagome,I'm sorry I was rude to you all of those times.I promise I'll be nicer to you from now on.
He had learned by a fellow comrade that Kagome had very strong feelings for him.He was going to go to her time and tell her to her face how he really felt about her.His bare feet sunk into the cold earthy soil beneath him.His pace was faster now,the village was coming into view.
"HEY Inuyasha!" said the small fox demon child as he jumped onto his shoulder.He could tell by looking in Inuyasha's eyes that he was doing something important. "What are you doing?"
Inuyasha scoffed at Shippo, rolling his eyes as he swatted the small child off of his shoulder. "None of your business you good for nothing pest."
Shippo hit the ground,hard.Rubbing his head as he sat up,watching Inuyasha walk away. "I was only asking out of curiosity!"
Sango was sitting outside by Kaede's hut,petting the sleeping Kirara that laid in her lap.She looked up,smiling at Inuyasha once saw him in view.She put Kirara to the side,standing up once he came towards her.
Inuyasha had his arms crossed over his broad chest.Clearing his throat once he approached the demon slayer. "Have you seen Kagome?"
This question threw Sango way off,dumfounded she scratched the back of her head, laughing nervously. "Strange, I was going to ask you."
His eyebrow raised in confusion. "You mean she's not here? I just saw her this morning!"
"Yeah..she left almost right after you did.I thought she came back to see you.She said she had to do something about school..."
He sighed deeply,hoping he could do this now.His amber colored hues filled with annoyance,he tapped his foot on the ground. "Did she say when she was going to be back?"
"She seemed to be in a rush..she didn't say when."
The male hanyou's hair blew swiftly through the cool autumn breeze.He sighed as he made his way towards the well,he had butterflies in his stomach.
Sango sighed deeply,before sitting down and continue what she was doing.
His amber colored hues gazed around the forest as he walked down the path towards the well.The leaves were now falling and collecting on the yellowish grass beneath his barefeet.Tetsusaiga rested peacefully on his hip,the group couldn't find jewel shards and they'd been stuck in Kaede's village ever since.
It annoyed Inuyasha,no suprise.he got bored easily,he usually found himself practicing his fang by the river side or going to Kagome's time.He didn't want to deal with Kaede barking orders at him.
The cool breeze sent a chill down his spine,he stopped.Staring intently at the well that was a few feet ahead of him.His arms lowered to his side,the winds caused the leaves on the ground to rustle then carry themselves away in the breeze.Something in his gut told him not to go down the well,he fought that urge off by going what his heart told him to do.
I'm alright..Im sure she's waiting for me inside her house like she usually is.
...right?
Those words weren't so reassuring to him.He walked slowly to the well,staring deeply into the seemingly never ending black abyss that was inside of the well.His lips parted open once he had placed his hands on the sides,hoping that Kagome would just pop out.He waited for a few moments.
"Dammit..I can't back down now!" said Inuyasha as he put a fist into the wood beneath his hand.He sighed deeply,putting a leg over the side.He looked back at the path,then down into the well. "Better now then never." He finally jumped down the well and into her time.
From the bottom of the well,he heard hear giggling from just outside of the shrine.He stood there,glaring up,noticing the ladder that she had was up.The male hanyou crossed his arms over his chest in anger.Like it was her fault for putting it up in the first place,he glared up with a angered look on his face. "Dammit, why did she do that?!" He leaped out of the well,landing on the side.He could definatley smell Kagome nearby and hear her.But..this other scent.It was something that he hadn't encountered in awhile.
His heart pounded in his chest.Was Kagome with another male? But..if she was how could she? The signals she was giving,were definate that she wanted to be with him.Sweat dripped down his face as he quietly walked up the steps, and stood infront of the door.Listening to the voices from outside.
"Oh Kagome,I'm glad that we got to hang out today." said a unfamiliar voice to Kagome.
Kagome giggled softly,she sighed deeply.
Inuyasha cracked the door open alittle,hoping to see her around.
"Kagome,what ever happened to that other guy you were seeing?"
Kagome got quiet suddenly.She just laughed it off then sighed again. "Oh him..he went back to his girlfriend and left me."
"What was his name?"
"Hojo you don't plan on hurting him now do you?!"
Hojo laughed at this,his voice filled with honesty. "I'm sure, I just want to know his name."
She paused for a moment,then finally with a calm tone she had said his name. "Inuyasha."
It had hit him hard,where it hurt the most.His eyes widen,just hearing her talk about him like this.Even though running off to see Kikyou was his fault..and being rude to her..alot.He growled at this,digging his claws into the bark.
Suprisngly Kagome didn't hear him, niether did Hojo.They walked by,hand in hand.Trading kisses.
Seeing that pissed him off,he grunted as he turned his back.Then it really hurt him,seeing someone he loved love someone else and the worst part about it,she didn't even know about his feelings.
Why..
Kagome..
Why would you do this to me?
After all of the things I helped you with..
He leaned his back against the wall,sliding down into a sitting position.Over hearing loud laughter from the house.His knee's were up to his face,his hands lazily rested on top of his knee caps.He closed his golden orbs,only drifting off into painful memories of him and Kagome. "One day you'll end up like me..alone and torn apart."
"I'll see you in a few days Momma,Souta and Grandpa!" Her voice was cheery and full of happiness.
It had snapped Inuyasha awake.He slowly rose his head,standing to his feet.He leaned against the wall with his arms crossed.
Kagome slid the door open to the shrine,closing it behind her.She slowly walked down the stairs,putting the ladder down.Not even noticing Inuyasha by the door.
"I was wondering,why you put the ladder up."
Hearing his voice nearly scared the poor girl to death,she grabbed a flashlight and shined it in his eyes.After hearing him curse loudly she slowly lowered it.Gulping as she stared into his eyes. "I-Inuyasha..why are you here?"
He growled at her,pushing himself off of the wall.He slowly approached her. "Heh..I was here for one purpose.To take the jewel shards back."
"B-back? How come?" She watched him carefully.
He laughed at this,walking down the stairs,he had stopped on the last step. "Im suprised you didn't hear me clawing the hell out of your door when I saw you kissing that guy!"
Kagome's eyes widen,her face was pale.Her bag litterally fell off of her arm,she licked her lips.She stared into his eyes,knowing how angry he was with her.She finally responded. "Oh..you saw?"
"Of course I saw!!"
"Why were you here anyway, Inuyasha?" She nervously fixed her green schoolgirl skirt.
He only shook his head,still standing on the last step.He stared down at the ground,sighing at this. "I came because I thought you'd like that.You always did..but for the past few days you haven't been coming..so I thought It'd be nice..to..uh..see you.." He found this embarassing,he glanced at Kagome.Then quickly looked at the ground. "Look, all I came here for was to say that I love you..no..not love.I loved you..since I saw you with..that..uh Hojo guy Im not so sure about any of this anymore."
Kagome seemed rather calm,she held onto something tight. "I-Inuyasha..I'm sorry..I don't love..you..I onl-"
Inuyasha was fuming,he stormed down the stairs then stood at her side,glaring down the well. "Is that all you have to say!? I POURED MY GOD DAMN SOUL TO YOU! I CAN'T STOP THINKING ABOUT YOU KAGOME WHY DO YOU HAVE TO DO THIS?!"
Tears swelled in her almond colored orbs,just watching him made her feel awful. "Inuyasha.." she said in a more stronger tone. "You were never there when I needed you..you were always with K-Kikyou.."
"Tch..I stopped seeing her for awhile,hoping you'd take me.But instead, you rejected me and went on as if I wasn't ever there for you."
She could no longer say anything to him,she held her hand out to him.Revealing a small bottle with a couple of jewel shards inside. "It's what you came here for."
He took her hand,leaving it there for a moment.He continued to stare down the well,he sighed deeply. "The memory of ten fingers entwined in a hopeless memory.."
She watched him,she couldn't see his eyes.
"When love is lost..where do the shattered pieces lie?" After saying this,he grabbed the bottle and jumped down the well.
Kagome collapsed to her knee's.Inuyasha had just taken the only jewel shards she had, now she wasn't able to go back, ever.She stared at the side of the well,noticing tear stains from Inuyasha.She finally got on her knee's,wanting him to come back.Trying to cough up words,she only made tears,which fell in the dark hole of the well.
