InuYasha Fan Fiction ❯ Binded Hearts ❯ Love ( Chapter 1 )
Well, before the story starts, I just wanted to say to expect a lot of fluff and a really short and sweet plot! ^_^ There'll be a lemon in this later by the way, so those of you who don't like lemons, feel free to skip that chapter, you won't really miss anything. ^_~

"Inuyasha..." Kagome began.
"Hm? What?" He asked, lifting one eyelid and looking across the small fire at Kagome.
They had made camp somewhere deep in the forest. Everyone was asleep, except for Kagome obviously...
"Can I talk to you?" Her voice shook with uncertainty. Hopefully Inuyasha didn't notice...
She had been wanting to tell him this for so long. Was this really the time? Yes, her mind screamed. No, she would say aloud. But she had to. She couldn't hold off on this feeling anymore... She had been watching him... sitting there cross-legged... sleeping like he always did. How she longed to be snuggled up against him... he would hold her close and promise to always be with her... it was a fantasy that Kagome often thought of.
"Eh? What is it?" He asked.
Kagome stood up.
"Could we... go somewhere alone?" She asked hopefully, yet nervously.
Inuyasha grunted.
"Why? They're asleep..." He responded.
"Or so we think..." Kagome finished.
Inuyasha sighed and then stood up, slightly stretching and managing a yawn.
He approached Kagome, stepping over Sango and Kirara's sleeping forms.
"C'mon..." He spoke as he manuvuered past Kagome and into a more private part of the forest.
Kagome followed, walking behind him.
Inuyasha had lead them to a miniature stream, and then leaned against a nearby tree and yawned again.
"So what is it that you want to tell me that's so private?" He asked in an annoyed tone... as always.
Kagome felt like backing down.
There was a long silence.
"Um... nevermind." She sighed. She turned away, ready to return until she was halted by Inuyasha's voice.
"I didn't get dragged all the way outta my sleep and from camp for us to just turn back... now tell me what's up." He said, not budging from the tree.
He was right, Kagome thought.
But she was so afraid...
How could she tell him what she had been feeling for so long? How could she tell him that she loved his cocky, jealous attitude... loved the way he talked, walked and breathed? How could she tell him that she loved him...?
There was another long silence.
Inuyasha made an annoyed growl and stood up straight from the tree.
"Look, do ya got somethin' to say, or what?!" He barked, grabbing her shoulder and forcing her to look at him.
Wha-?
To his surprise he saw tears in her eyes. She tried to cover them, but it was too late.
Another long silence erupted as Kagome gulped down more tears.
"W-what's wrong?" He asked, his voice full of concern.
She let out half laugh, half sigh, trying her best to cover up her emotions.
Her eyes darted around their surroundings, as if trying to find a way out of this.
Defeated, she said, "I... I don't wanna tell you..." and turned her head to the side.
"What? Did a demon attack you?!" He asked, his voice already filled with rage.
"No..." She replied quietly.
Immediately his nerves managed to calm.
It wasn't long after that his look of concern turned to a look of frustration.
"Now, look... if this is just some PMS problem you got goin' on, count me out! I may be a demon, but I'm still a guy, and I ain't got no idea what you're goin' through or how to cure it!" He then crossed his arms, narrowed his eyes, and turned his head. "You should've woke Sango up for this kinda crap..." He finished with perced lips. A sting of crimson hit his cheeks.
Kagome shook her head.
"It's not that..." She assured.
It was then that a look of real puzzlement and confusion hit his face.
"Huh? Then what is it?" He asked, letting his hands fall freely to his sides.
"It's just that..." She sighed in mid-sentence... "Inuyasha, I..." She sighed again. "I... I can't say it!"
"Why not?!" He asked, frustrated.
"Because I'm afraid!" She yelled back.
Inuyasha was silent.
"I'm... I'm afraid you won't... feel the same..." She spoke softly and uncertainly.
Inuyasha's heart seem to rise in his throat and stop.
"I mean with Kikyo and everything... why would you?" She said the sentence quick, and managed to slightly scramble the last two words.
"Why would I what?" He asked with real concern showing in his voice.
He already knew... he just wanted to make sure he wasn't wrong... he also needed more time to think how to respond...
"Y'know... maybe it is just a PMS thing..." She managed to chuckle, sniffling a couple of times.
"What's a PMS thing?!" He seemed to repeat.
"The way I feel!" Kagome shot back.
"How do you feel?!" He snapped back vehemently.
"Like I love you! O-or... something..." She answered back, trying to save herself with the last sentence.
She then tensed up, waiting for a reply.
